This 20qt. pot is perfect. I was skeptical when I read some damaging reviews. It makes me wonder if the reviewers clicked on the wrong product, when they wrote their review. It is absolutely 'Professional Grade'. With any nickel-free pot/pan, you MUST use and prep it properly: Before first use: 1. Wash with warm soapy water. 2. Wash again with vinegar & water solution. 3. Wash last time with warm soapy water. You're good to go. After you use it for the 1st time -- It can go into dishwasher . DO NOT use high heat. It isn't necessary to reach a quick boil. This pot is designed so well, it boiled 17 quarts of water in 9 minutes. This pot blows away the $$$ ones of comparable size. BTW, I'm a retired professional chef. Happy cookin'!!

The 16 qt. stockpot got chips on the bottom inside the first time I used the product. I followed the instructions received with the pot, so I was very surprised to see little chips on the bottom. I have stainless steel pots that I bought 20 years ago and never had a problem. I also bought an 8 qt pot from the same company that works fine- no problems so far. Must be the materials in the 16 qt. stockpot that are different. The good news is that the company has an outstanding costumer service. I emailed the company about my problem and I received a response the next day! They offered to replace the pot. Hope there will be no more problems. UPDATE: After having the pot replaced I had no more problems. The company recommends seasoning the pots- which I find it a chore since if washing the pot with detergent requires re-seasoning- but it helps extend the product’s life. All in all, I am happy with the product, hence the 5 stars.

Perfect. Just what I was looking for. I don’t mind cleaning my glass stovetop, but what’s even better is NOT cleaning it. This 16 quart Homi Chef pot is perfect for making recipes that splatter and/or foam-up like strawberry jam, canning water baths, accommodating extra large recipes. Recipes that typically foam-up, splatter, or pop liquids out of smaller pots and pans are no match for this pot's tall sides. Even with its tall sides, the pot still fits just right over a 9-10" burner, so it’s not so large that it’s impractical. It’s only the height of the pot that is extra large making it a good choice for typical home cooktops. The pot heats evenly, showing an even distribution of boil bubbles across the pot's bottom, with no visible hot spots. The pot remains easy to handle, even at high heat, with high handles set close to the top that remain cool to the touch, naturally easy to grip, and with no balance issues like pots with lower places handles. I especially appreciate that the pot comes with a custom fitted glass top perfect for containing heat and moisture for simmering stews, soups, and jams.

We've been wanting a really large pot for canning and cooking big pots of soup for parties, but have always hesitated to buy one thinking our teeny tiny kitchen and stove space couldn't handle it for cooking or storing. Recently went through a purging of all nonstick coated cookware and questionable metal in our kitchen in an effort to use healthier materials in our cooking and discovered the HomiChef brand. After buying some of their smaller pots and being happy with them we got this one, and it fits just fine on our largest burner with room enough under the overhead fan for steam to do it's thing (see pic). The other pots amazed us with steel handles never getting too hot to touch even after hours boiling something, and this large pot is no different - the handles are actually far enough from the burner that they stay cool. We have no qualms about lifting it when full - the handles are very well designed. VERY solid construction on this, you can tell because the triple layered bottom doesn't heat up super fast (keeping the bottom contents from burning) but it comes to a boil easily and consistently despite being larger than the burner it's on. Was further thrilled that it fits in our sink under the faucet (no dishwasher in our home), and the cleanup is easy. LOVE that the lid is glass as well, being able to see what's cookin is always a nice bonus. Happy with this product and really comforted to be using nickel free steel. Wish we'd switched away from toxic cookware long ago! (Also, SO tempted to heat up water in this huge pot and soak my feet, it's so deep my calves would benefit as well, but I don't think anyone would want to eat out of it knowing I soaked my feet in it!) :)

Great pot, really shines when I put vinegar spray to her right after using, when still warm. Heats quick first time, but hard water slowed boil second time for extra quart, hum 7 pints of Okra, then a quart to use all of them up. Can’t wait to try and make chili to can. Did another 7 pints of Okra on 1/4 setting on glass top induction stove and came back, waiting jars in dishwasher, and found pot roiling boil again. Pot was 2/3 s full of water.

Overall I'm very glad with this pot and purchase. I've used it a couple of times and . It's solid and fairly substantial. The bottom is thick and solid, there was no burning or sticking to the bottom (i.e. when sauteing onions for stew) and heat seemed to be distributed quite evenly. The sides of the pot are not the thickest, but they are not flimsy by any means. It's not the heaviest stainless large pot I've owned, but at this price point, it's VERY GOOD and certainly better that I expected overall. Because it's nickle free it's going to need more care than other stainless pots to keep it in top condition (i.e. dry it right away after washing), but I specifically wanted something without nickle and I'm happy to take a bit more care of it and have a little less shinny pot for the sake of my family's health. Anyway, very happy with this and will update if needed down the line as I use it more.

Purchased this pot to make homemade pasta sauce and it is great. I appreciate all of the instructions that was included with the pot and had a question regarding if the pot could be used on a coil electric stove and got a prompt reply from them. Would definitely purchase from them again.

This stock pot is excellent quality and, best of all, it works on our induction range top. That was the primary reason I bought this stock pot but a bonus is the clear glass lid as well. I like being able to see the contents without having to raise the lid to check if the simmer needs to be adjusted or not.

First off, it’s bigger than I expected. I bought this to replace an older stock pot that’s taken a beating over the years. We use it for gumbo and I also want to use it for homemade soups. This pot is great! It feels solid and nicely constructed. Even the lid has a nice weight to it. The finish is high quality and very pleasing aesthetically. It’s advertised as commercial grade and it looks and feels the part. I love having a great big pot with a glass lid. The base is nice and solid with good thickness, and feels extremely durable. It comes with a 6 year warranty and they even included a free ladle! Also included were full instructions, warranty card and stainless steel cleaning pads. This is a perfect gumbo pot and fits my intended purposes perfectly. Definitely an upgrade.

I already owned 2 Homi Chef pots before getting this one. The 8 qt stock pot and the copper banded 2 1/2 quart stockpot. I gave them both 5 star reviews because I really think they are superb. I also have their knife which is very good value as well. This pot is 16 quarts and REALLY big! I already had the 8 quart Stock Pot. I noticed immediately that the 8 quart is heavier and thicker and I was worried that this one wouldn't cook as well, but I get why they'd want it to be lighter - It would be extremely difficult to maneuver if it was made as heavily as the 8 quart. But make no mistake it's quite sturdy and very well made. I decided to make chicken soup with a friend and we'd split it since it was going to make a LOT! The first photo I posted shows all the ingredients laid out on the stove - chicken, celery, carrots, mushrooms, dill, yellow squash, zuccini, sweet onion, scallions, a small amount of dill pickles, salt, pepper, chicken stock, bone broth, and angel hair pasta with a fresh baguette. The second photo shows most of the veggies diced and sauteed right in the pot. After adding the broth and seasoning, bringing to a boil, which took no longer than I'd have expected even given that the pot is meant to be cooked in at medium heat, it was time to add the chicken and the remaining vegetables and dill followed by the angel hair pasta broken in to 1 1/2" pieces. The whole meal was cooked in about 40 minutes. We sat down for a big bowl of that delicious soup, a hunk of the baguette and some wine (photo 3). My friend never stopped making yummy noises and I agreed with her. It was fabulous soup. After our meal I transferred the remaining soup to containers for freezing. A LOT of containers. My friend took 3 quarts home and I gave another quart to another friend and have a lot left for me to enjoy over the next couple of weeks!. Clean up was a bit challenging. NOT because of the pot material but because of the size of the beautiful pot. It's tall and I live in an apartment with a regular kitchen sink so I had to lay it on it's side and use the removable spray to spray out the bulk of what was left in the pan. Once I got the solids out I was able to set the pot in the sink, add a few drops of liquid soap and use a soft nylon covered sponge to clean it thoroughly. I rinsed it, dried it and it looked brand new. Nothing stuck to it. To be honest I don't see myself needing this pot a lot as it's overkill if you're not making a big batch of something or canning maybe. I DO however think I would use the pot for making long spaghetti because it's tall and would accommodate the raw tall spaghetti without having to break it. Also it would keep the spaghetti moving around in the boiling water with all that room. If I cook my mom's meatball and sauce recipe I will definitely use THIS pan for the sauce. Overall the pot performed perfectly for this chicken soup recipe and the result is raves from the two cooks and from the other friend I gave a quart too. Like me, he'd not had chicken soup with dill and we both thought the dill made the dish. If you need a large stock pot you cannot go wrong with this one or anything in the Homi Chef line if the four items I already had, you won't be disappointed. Throw in the best customer service I've ever experienced from any company ever and the combination is unbeatable. Now it's time for another bowl of soup.
