Delivers Beyond Expectation
I generally do not write product reviews but this headphone system is amazing. As far as I was concerned the Optical Digital Audio output on my TV was never going to be used by me but this headphone system has made me see the light- get it? optical...light...OK, I wont quit my day job... The set up was easy, the output and quality are amazing and my wife could not be happier as the TV volume in now less than 110 decibels. So for me, a win-win-win. Thank you. Great product and great price.

Great Find
I tried buying a wireless headset from Best Buy and even had their staff assist in picking one out. Turns out the TV I had doesn't have a normal audio output so I had to return the headset to Best Buy. After doing research on the internet, I found that the "optical digital audio" port would support this headset that was recently put on the market by Avantree. I decided to give it a try. Works great and doesn't need additional outlets to charge the headset or run the transmitter. They can be connected using a USB cable.

Everything I Expected and A Bit More
There are three ways to hook up the transmitter to your TV, and any of the three would have worked on my TV (a three-year-old regular - not "smart" - 20" Samsung). Nothing in the instructions indicated which choice would give the best sound so I first chose the easiest way and hooked up the "Audio Cable" to the "AUX Audio Out Headset" connector on my TV and the other end to the transmitter. After experimenting with that for a couple of nights I then disconnected the Audio Cable (make sure you do this if, like me, you began by connecting it) and connected the "Optical Audio Cable" to the "Optical Out" connector on my TV, and then connected the other end to the transmitter. (The "Optical Audio" connection is a bit more complicated because after the cable is connected you have to go to your TV's menu and make sure "External Speakers" and "PCM Audio Format" is chosen before it will work.) Both connections gave excellent sound (I personally couldn't tell the difference), and both connections muted the external sound on my particular TV when the "ON/OFF" switch on the transmitter was turned ON. The only difficulty I had was finding the USB port on my TV. It turned out to be on the side of the TV, not the back. The USB cable has to be connected to both your TV and the transmitter so the transmitter will have power. The headphones use a rechargeable battery for power, and they were already charged up when I took them out of the box. What the instructions didn't mention was how to turn the headphones on and off. There's a silver button on the left ear-pad (there's an "L" and "R" inscribed faintly on the adjustment piece above each ear-pad), and you have to press and "hold down" the button until a voice tells you the earphones are connected. You turn off the earphones the same way until a voice says "good-bye". Overall I thought the instructions could have been clearer especially as they pertained to the earphones, but they were clear enough. Once I understood the instructions (I'm a bit slow when it comes to instructions) setting up the transmitter and earphones was quite easy. The earphones are very comfortable, easy to adjust, and provide excellent sound that doesn't bleed beyond the earphones. (There's a "+" and "-" button on ether side of the earphone's silver ON/OFF button to adjust the volume.) Overall this unit is well designed and I'm very happy with it.

Excellent......
The product is excellent in every way. Instructions on the other hand....could use an additional verbiage....such as: Please make sure if connecting to a TV with optical output, and even if it is connected to a soundbar, do NOT assume your phones will work the same.....which in fact will cause some grief...if.....the TV was set from factory in 24kbits output. The soundbar will work, but the headphones will NOT....until....you go into the TV/Audio/Advanced settings and change this tiny obscure little bit of information to: PCM output......and Voila.....it will work like Magic. The best part of this headset TX combo is: NO PAIRING NEEDED. Battery will last a solid 35-40 hrs for sure. Sound is clear like it should. Ahh...one more little tidbit.....some TV's allow you to reduce the Latency value from 40 to lesser values, to help when watching live shows. Headphones are light enough to wear comfortably through a hole movie without much discomfort.....and nope, it does NOT have a noise canceling feature...but for this price for a good pair of Headphones and a TX/RX box...it's a great deal. Web-site is very informative as well. Hope this helps.

Great headphones, decently priced, and Easy to set up.
I liked that these headphones were really easy to set up on my Tv. They are really comfortable, and easy to use. The sound quality is great! The fact 5hat I can listen to the Tv and not disturb anyone else is fantastic! I ha e hearing problems and before I would have to turn the Tv up fairly loud to enjoy a movie or to be able to understand what was being said. Now I can use my headphones and the rest of the house can turn the volume to what is comfortable for them. Love these headphones! I would recommend them to anyone that suffers from hearing loss.

Work great but pay attention to instructions if you want to use optical output from TV
The transmitter and headset work really well. It's great that all needed cables are included. If you are going to use optical audio (aka TOSLINK) out from the TV or other device, read the manual; optical may not work without changing some audio settings in the TV. The manual itself could be clearer and more complete on this too. In the audio settings of the TV, you want PCM to be on or Dolby/DTS to be off. Having Dolby/DTS off will usually force PCM to be used. In addition, some TVs have an auto-detect option. It's best not to use this because it may or may not send audio out via the optical port. Although many TVs have the black and red RCA audio terminals, be aware on many TVs, these are only audio-in; you can't get sound out of them. Although it's mentioned in the manual, the volume controls change volume incrementally based on taps to the +/- buttons on the headphones. The increments are small, so a lot of taps are needed to get a large change in volume. Be sure to use taps; holding the buttons in won't work.

Excellent Product
Headphones and transmitter paired immediately after installation. Sound quality is excellent. I have hearing loss and use a blue tooth transmitter that produces tv and movies directly to my hearing aids. The sound quality of the Avantree headphones produces a more natural sound and I do not need my hearing aids to listen and still understand. Had I tried the Avantree first I could have saved $279 which was the cost of the ReSound TV transmitter. I am going to buy a second Avantree headset for my Arizona home as soon as I have a little extra change in my pocket.

Great purchase. Recommend to anyone.
Outstanding sound with volume control on headset. Extremely easy to set-up offering several different ways to connect. Best range of reception of any Bluetooth device I have. I'm happy , wife extremely happy now that TV doesn't have to be loud enough for me to hear but deafening her. Great for viewing TV after she goes to bed. Marriage saving purchase.

I can hear every sound super clearly, and it is so easy to turn ...
These have been life-changing! I was always worried about my tv disturbing others in my house, and these eliminate that problem. I can hear every sound super clearly, and it is so easy to turn them off and on and switch back to the TV's regular sound out option when I don't feel like wearing them. They do hurt my ears a bit after a few hours but I feel like that is to be expected when wearing headphones. That being said, the headphones are super comfortable and block out most outside noise. These are wonderful and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a device like this.

Misleading reviews
As when anytime I purchase anything, I research, read reviews, do due diligence. Reading prior Amazon reviews gave me several doubts about this purchase; but I had $50 in an Amazon gift card so I decided to take a chance. A: Simple as schite 1) people complained about being confusing to connect. Took me ten seconds. Attached the plugs to their respective home then hit the power button for the five seconds. There are two things you have to figure out with when plugging the transmitter; where to plug into the outlet, and the audio output, done. If you're having trouble connecting this device to your TV (cables included), pretend your a toddler and match the shapes that fit into one another (male plugs to female). HDMI, OPTIC, easy... 2) I'll admit, each time I hold the button down it seems unusually long, but always turns on. With that, I'm saying what I personally feel like 5 seconds is a bit off. 3) As far as the comfort level, I've had them on for several hours now (tonight) and I'm someone who is very picky, feels like little is there. You might get some warmth from being stagnant on you're skin but that's expected from any over ear product. 4) Battery life so far has been good. I've been using for hours every couple nights for a few weeks and still running strong. 5) Sound quality is up there. Watching tv shows the lip sync has not been an issue at all. Bass is there doing its job too. The reason I took away a star is because I've maxed out the volume and want more. The volume produced is very good, but apparently I have a desire to go deaf. I'm a night owl and this has been incredible. My girlfriend goes to bed earlier than me; and these keep me immursed while she sleeps happily.
