Game changer ugly fan saver!

We just purchased the home da hub grew up in. It’s wonderful because the neighbor next door still makes da hub the cookies he loved in 1980. The down side is lot of stuff in the house is from the same era. Da hub was a good sport and allowed the kids and I to choose paint, flooring, blinds, countertops, carpet, etc. We almost had it completely current when he put his foot down about 2 ceiling fans. Oh these fans. They must have been something in their time, elaborate brass on long downrods, now they are a testament to the early 1980s, zipper pants and Miami Vice. We begged and pleaded, made friends and neighbors choose sides on the Great Fan Debate- they weren’t coming down. So I googled the heck out of Ugly Fans and saw these cages. I wasn’t expecting much (did I mention the fans are REALLY dated?) but placed the order anyway. I also go a pack of the Edison bulbs. My daughter removed the old lights and globes and put the metal cages around the new bulbs. Well dontcha know... those horrible fans look fine now. I don’t know if cages are so large they obscure the fan or it’s the bulbs, but anyway, the fan fight is over. If you are in the midst of fan despair to the point it affects your relationships I highly suggest giving these a try.

These will make any light fixture look better!

I paired these with an industrial light I purchased on Amazon. They fit perfect and really changed the look of the light fixture! I did change out the silver screws to brass ones because they have a little brass on the inside as shown in the photo on Amazon. The screws that exactly match are #8 -32-1” but I bought #8-32-3/4” so they fit a little bit better. I love love love these!

genius product

I am so happy with light bulb cages. Recently my husband and I have been trying to update our house to look a little more contemporary. We found out that light fixtures are extremely expensive and we had a lot of them to replace. We decided to get creative and tried to find ways to update some of the fixtures we currently own. That's where these guys came in handy, we took the ugly, dated glass globes off the bathroom fixture and ceiling fan and added these along with Edison bulbs and voila!! It took only 5 minutes to make our dated fixtures look modern, contemporary, with a touch of industrial. These were simple to install, great quality, and really inexpensive. If you are on a budget I recommend using these to update what you have. I get so many compliments on my fan and bathroom light and all I did was put these on with the Edison bulbs, and I spray painted the gold fixtures black.

Easy update

These look really nice. It is a easy fix for an upgrade from the old 80's white boring cover. It beats changing out a whole fixture!! I bought a silver leading pen on here to help it to match the pewter fixtures.

Old looks new and modern

Transformed a designer ceiling fan by simply Changing to light globes. Matches my updated kitchen design and transformed my ceiling instantly. Very reasonable price and easy to install

Great quality and easy to install

So easy to install these. They are a nice large size. Not flimsy. Costed well. I’m very happy with the result. I used flip chart paper and taped it to the ceiling. Hung a plastic drop cloth from the ceiling and proceeded to spray paint the ceiling fan in place. No mess and it turned out fantastic. I’m so pleased. This is a rental until and I think that the $4 can of spray paint and these cages did a great job of updating the fan without changing it. The new tenants are pleased. It turned out so well that I’m doing the same thing in the bedroom next.

Really enjoy them, however...

... i wish I could have selected the number I needed and received a better price with the higher the number purchased. These are great for the price when purchasing 4, however, I now have to purchase another set of four if I want them all to match as I only need five total. They are light weight so they don't weigh down the spider light wires. My wife and I love them. Our fixture turned out great and a lot of that has to do with these cage shades.

easy to install and looks great - very good value

I used these in my basement bar with the addition of some edison light bulbs, and it makes for a great athestic. These are fairly easy to install and look great. Very good value.

Perfect for my homemade lamps

My wife purchased these for a Christmas project. I think they were the perfect lamp covers for the homemade lamp I made. Look great and worked perfectly on the lamp I made. Great buy!

Bigger than I expected

Bought these to replace the ceiling fan light covers in my son's room (he keeps breaking the glass ones). Work great and fit perfectly, they are just a lot larger than we expected!
