Awesome Tool

I am so glad I found this product. I originally saw Coco Jack online and my friend ordered one. Well, they don't have it together over there at Coco Jack because I ordered their product over a year + ago and have been emailing back and forth with their customer service to get an update on my order, they kept telling me they were on back order - FOR A YEAR NOW? COMON! Anyways, I love using this product because the alternative is cutting away at coconuts with a sharp large butcher's knife, which is hella dangerous. I'm so excited to use this. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy fresh coconuts at home. Just make sure you pound it pretty deep into the coconut. It might be a little tricky removing the cut piece off the device, but just wiggle it back and forth and it'll eventually come off.

Must buy if you will be using it frequently.

I LOVE fresh coconut water. The only brand I like, that doesn’t taste watered down or artificial is Harmless Coconut water. At $5 for a small bottle didn’t cut it for me. My local Asian grocery sells young coconuts at $1.99 and this opener is great. It’s sharp and easy to use. I was always scared hacking away at coconuts with a knife but this tool makes it so easy!!

quick and safe open tool

Even though I love fresh coconut juice, I always worry about someone getting hurt in the process of opening the coconut. Before this product, my sister was hacking away with a knife and ended up at the hospital with 3 stitches. Using a knife to open them is very dangerous. Then I checked some videos online and that made me decide to get this one. This handy and inexpensive tool solves that dilemma perfectly. This opener is very strong. The handle is very good. It is so easy to use, and very effective. It makes opening coconuts a breeze. After using the mallet to drive the special "spoon" into the skin/shell of the coconut, the unique angle of the spoon allows you to create a fairly large hole. Juice and coconut flesh are easily accessible. Absolutely love this item. Very helpful devise. I highly recommend this product for anyone who loves young coconut.

Works flawlessly so far

I've only used this kit to open two young coconuts so far, but to all appearances, the tools are sturdily made, and I found them effective at their job. I'll update this review if my impression changes.

I'd been putting off buying one of these--it just seemed like a luxury item, BUT now I can't believe I waited so long. All those coconuts I could have eaten, not just drank!

Worked first try! So happy I bought this.

This makes it easy to open up young coconut. I didn't even cut off the peak. I positioned it on the peak used the mallet on the end furthest from the handle. Then I pulled-up. Viola! The hole is big enough to get the meat out.

Just amazing product, we eat and drink coconuts like crazy, but don’t want to lose fingers. Strong stainless steel tool. Hammer is just fine. Would recommend to everybody.

Get you one!

Works great! Make sure you peel the plastic on top of the coconut before attempting to open it. I left it on and it not only "dulls" the blade but it created resistance and I was pounding it like 20 times and it didn't want to cut the top deep enought to open it and ended up cracking the coconut down the side and spraying coconut water everywhere. The next attempt I peeled the plastic off the top of the coconut and it worked like a charm. Lesson learned.

Safe and easy to use

Awesome opener. Does exactly what is mentioned. I felt it is a bit expensive. Hammer is not required if you have one at home already. Should have had the option to buy the other tool without the hammer. But overall it's a great product.
