"Internal Tooth Starlock Washers", perfect solution!

Ahhhh..... Now I have a little box of "Internal Tooth Starlock Washers" added to my shop. Toughest problem I had was finding a name for these guys. Persistent searching of the internet finally produced photos and a name and bingo! This lock washer is specifically designed for one time use. Attempts to remove one bends or breaks it, rendering its reuse not wise or not possible. To install, I used a deep socket from my tool box, selected because the diameter of the socket matched the diameter of the lock washer. Then, I carefully placed the washer on end of the shaft, placed the socket on top of the washer and used a small hammer to tap the socket to drive the washer onto the shaft. Use caution with how hard you strike the socket! Strike too hard and the washer is driven too far down the shaft. In my case, the washer acted as a retainer to keep my vacuum cleaner wheel on its shaft. Strike too hard and the washer puts the wheel in a bind and keeps it from turning. Strike too softly and the washer fails to go onto the shaft. Once the washer is on the shaft, gentle taps will move it into the desired position. Remember, if it moves too far, your only option is to bend or break it to remove it, then start over with a new washer. All of the "Internal Tooth Starlock Washers" in this assortment are blackened spring steel. The size and quantity of washers matched the product description. The plastic box, though it has a snap lock on it, is also taped shut. Before attempting to open the container, ensure the lock is snapped shut, then very gently use a sharp knife to sever the tape where the lid contacts the box rim. The box is not very strong and if not gentle, you will probably find your washers scattered wildly. I held my washer container inside a 5 gallon yellow bucket so any escaping washers could be trapped and found. I recommend this product and the vendor. Good job, guys!

I used these to get replace the push washer on a power wheels

If you've ever removed the plastic tires on a power wheels then you know what a pain it is to find the push cap to get it back on. I had o take the wheel off and broke it. After finding them on Amazon for the same price as this big box I decided to get this instead in case I need to replace the other wheels. It did the trick but the black cap doesn't really work with it so I just hot glued it on. The lock itself is very tight and I have no doubt it will hold just as well if not better than the old push cap.

Repaired my golf bag stand

I needed one washer to replace the one that fell off my golf bag but I didn’t know the size. I spent time browsing Amazon until I found a likely product. The kit was inexpensive. I successfully repaired my golf bag and have a kit standing by if I need it.

Great collection of sizes

This set has a nice variety of sizes of push on fasteners. Needed a couple sizes and this kit did the job. Quality seems to be good as well.
