• 30 in. induction cooktop from Frigidaire
  • Amazingly fast heat
  • Even heat distribution
  • Cooktop surface is easy to clean
  • Auto-sizing pan detection

Got this for my Mom. She loves how fast everything cooks and how easy it is to keep it clean. The install needed cutting as I was going from 30 to 36 inches. Following is how I did it: 1. Cut power off at the circuit breaker. 2. Disconnect old stove top wiring. ***2a. Connect new induction cooktop electrical wires to house and turn on circuit breaker for power. Verify that all elecrical works. If it had a problem, I was ready to send it back for replacement. Luckily, all functions worked in my case. Then, turn off power and disconnect. Set it aside safely. 3. Take out old stove top. 4. Measure and pencil mark the required install measurements. 5. Cut out the required space in the counter. 6. Clean and prepare area for install. ***there was no gasket for the edges.*** I would buy double sided heat proof tape or water & heat proof puddy to fill in the edges to water proof it. 7. Install and connect the electrical. 8. Turn power on. 9. Enjoy using new Induction cooktop. The cooktop looks great and heats super fast. My Mom loves it. Hope this helps someone.

This is an induction cooktop. Very easy to use and clean. Plus it heats the pan faster than any cooktop we’ve ever had previously whether gas or electric. Yes it takes special cookware, but many pots and pans are already induction ready as long as the bottom of the pan is magnetic. The cooktop does get warm from the pan heating up, but the surface does not heat up cook. If you are looking for a great cooktop this one is very good and at this price very comparable to other types of cooktops. Also, this cooktop is very safe to use with no flame and no heating elements.

This is our 2nd induction cooktop. We made the investment of all induction cookware and became accustom to the consistent evenness that induction has to offer. Needless to say we were devastated when I cracked the side of the top with a cast-iron skillet that ran across the width of the unit. My wife was horrified that I would make her go back to cooking off the old coil or infrared cooktops that are significantly less expensive. I found this Frigidaire unit and the reviews were favorable and the price was right, so what the heck. It is a little noisy but that is the nature of induction with mid level cookware. I believe it would be more quiet with better quality cookware. So far we are very pleased with the unit and it is still crack free after 2 months.

My wife has been nagging me to replace an all white regular cooktop we installed on our kitchen remodel some years ago. It was dirty after every single use. She spotted a induction cooktop at a big box store and wanted to try that. We have never owned an inductive cooktop before. This one was the least expensive one that would fit the existing hole in our granite top. No way I was going to cut granite! We are most pleased with with this model. Water boils in a couple of minutes compared with eternity for a conventional cooktop. Seems easy to use and there is no cleanup so long as nothing spills over. We keep the child lock on all the time as if you seem to place something metal on it, it can turn itself on somehow. With the child lock on, it beeps a few times but stays safe. Installation was a piece of cake. I did not buy the expensive granite installation kit that other purchased when installing on a granite coutertop. They proved a couple of brackets - one screw goes in the bottom side of the cooktop and the other side of bracket screws into the wood side of the kitchen cabinet. That holds it in fairly solidly and it will not shift. I did notice there is not rubber or silicone gasket on the underside of the glass so if you don't plut some silicone seal beads around the cutout, a spill may leak between the cooktop and under the granite. Don't use a lot of it might be impossible to remove the cooktop down the road! We had a nice expensive set of cookware that was not very old but we found out it was not inductive compatible. Check what you have with a magnet or use this as an excuse to get yourself something new! We only had this product installed for a few weeks so we cannot attest to the long term reliability. We are most happy with it so far!

Replaced an Electrolux Icon model that had repeated failures and eventually died altogether. The small burners seem even more powerful than on the Electrolux (which cost 3 times as much), the big ones about the same. The smooth glass edge makes it even easier to clean than models with a stainless band around them. I dropped it into a granite countertop just using silicone caulk: I wouldn't bother with the installation kits. Two small complaints: 1) The supply lines are only 3' vs. 4' for the old cooktop so I had to move the junction box into the cabinet (I was able to install the original with the j-box in the crawl space, which was easier because I didn't have to worry about the cabinet drawers hitting it). 2) There's a 3 second delay between when you turn a burner on and when it actually starts heating (I guess to give you a second to change your mind) which the Icon didn't do. Overall, we're very satisfied, especially for the price.

I only had 1 pan that didn't have enough metal to work, and it was old anyway. It does make a fan type sound, but it's not loud, and it lets you know it's working so I don't mind it. The speed in which it cooks is AWESOME, every bit as fast as gas but not so scary :)

We love the new cooktop. We replaced an older worn out and scratched halogen light based cooktop and this one looks so much better and it heats up so much quicker. It truly does boil water in 90 seconds. The finish is perfect and the install was very simple. We also now had a reason to finally get new pots and pans. We didn't spend a ton on the new induction pans but we did make sure that the bottoms were completely free of sharp edges or burrs. The cooktop came with some cleaning compound and we're still using the same bottle 9 months later. Once a week I usually just wipe the top off with a paper towel and water and follow that up with a few drops of the cleaner and then just buff that off with a paper towel. The surface has only picked up 2 very small scratches that were probably caused by a full house of Easter company when they were using it as a place to put their hot food dishes. =( If anything were to accidentally happen to this one I wouldn't hesitate to buy the exact same cooktop again. My only issue is that the top glass surface is not perfectly flat from front to back. It has a very slight hump in the middle but it's only noticeable to me since I installed it and looked at it edge on. The other issue is that led control panel has moved slightly down about 1/8" on the left side which means that you now need to press about 1/8" lower for the touch control to register. I might see what's involved with moving it back into the correct position at some point in the future if it continues to slip.

Now that we've been using for a few weeks, here is what we think. Absolutely great cooktop! Wife loves it! .Little bit of a learning curve after using a standard cooktop, but didn't take long. Only downside was checking existing cookware to see if it would work on an induction system. Some would, some wouldn't. The ones that wouldn't got donated to my daughter (her gas range will be fine). Got into the habit of carrying a small magnet with me when looking at new cookware (most cookware will say if it will work on induction). Love that there aren't any knobs now to get in the way and get all greasy!!

Easy to install, but gave it 4/5 stars due to the need to open the unit up to move the rubber coil spacers into place. Either they were not assembled correctly at the factory or they shifted during shipping. This needed to be done to make the largest burner, in the middle of the cooktop, cook evenly. I first installed the unit, checked how even the power was applied by looking at the pattern of bubbles on a pot of water. Once I determined the pot was not being heated evenly I remembered the post from another reviewer about checking the location of the burner and spacers under the glass top. I've attached a picture of the burner tab with the rubber spacer correctly assembled. All the small burners were good but the large burner appeared uneven. When we cooked eggs in a cast iron pan, it cooked unevenly. However, once the spacers were corrected, eggs in the same pan cooked perfectly evenly. Another note on the install, our previous electric cooktop was a 4-wire connection, the new induction cooktop is a 3-wire connection, the instructions say to just cap the white (neutral) wire as it's not used by this cooktop. Touch controls are very good, no issues with the stove turning of when something is splashed on the cooktop, so not the same experience as others have reported. So, we really like the touch controls in place of the knobs we had on the previous cooktop. A pot of water heats impressively fast. Temperature control is the best, instantly control the temp by changing the power setting, this is even better than gas. Cleaning the glass top is easy since nothing burns or cooks to the glass top itself. Yes, we needed to purchase some new cookware, no big deal, some of our existing stainless steel Cuisenart pans were 30 years old, we can gift them to family members. For a non-stick frying pan, we highly recommend the "Made-In" carbon steel fry pan. Our previous cooktop was total 8,000W conventional glass electric cooktop, the induction cooktop is labeled 7,200W. So it cooks faster, has better temperature control, and uses less power. A big win all around. Hope the review helps others make their decision on whether or not to purchase.

Just as fast as gas but extend your counter space as it is never hot when you remove the pan. Wipes clean because the surface never is hot enough to burn the spills. Well worth the extra cost!
