Autofocus is super fast I haven’t ran into any issues what so ever! On photo & video side. Since I got it a week ago. It’s very light compared to the 24-70 (GM) Tamron has announced of a firmware update coming very soon for those who are having issues with the auto focus in video mode gives me a peace of mind knowing they are on top of it. I don’t regret making this purchase.. first time Tamron customer and here to stay..

Disclaimer: I’m a photography enthusiast, not a professional. And I use the Sony a7iii body. Likes: - excellent (fast and accurate) autofocus on par with native Sony lens (of which I’ve used several). Works great with continuous autofocus - my 3 year old has put it through its paces indoors. - lightweight - moisture resistant - very good flare resistance (your images don’t get that annoying haze when you take pictures on sunny days facing the sun - and if they do it’s easily corrected in post). - very good color rendition. - very good out of camera contrast - ridiculously sharp (especially in the center, quite sharp in the corners, great sharpness throughout range). - one of the smaller zooms. Only the Sony Zeiss 24-70f4 is smaller. - f2.8 constant aperture allows for nice headshots/portraits at 75mm and great light gathering at 28mm - good bokeh Dislikes - a wee bit long. Not truly discrete. - zoom ring is reversed from focus ring. Feels weird. But if this is your first lens, it won’t matter. And after a while of only using this lens, it doesn’t matter Neutral - build quality. I think it looks and feels nice. Nowhere near as nice as most Sony Zeiss lenses. Some pros don’t like the plasticky feel. But for my purposes (family photos indoor and outdoor, vacation/travel and just everyday life) it’s top notch. Summary: Excellent all round lens for any amateur or enthusiast so long as you don’t need anything wider or longer.

This lens is so awesome. I use it on my A7iii. I use it more than any of my other lenses. Of course, each lens has a time and place for its best use, but this one stays on my camera 80% of the time. I never think about whether to put it in the bag. It's always in the bag. Heck, I just leave it on the camera till I absolutely need to change lenses. It's the most versatile lens I have because of the focal length, size and weight, aperture, and sharpness. I can carry my camera one handed most of the time without fatigue. You want this lens, even if you don't think you do.

I was lucky enough to get Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 for Sony Fullframe E-mount, which has been / is global supply constraint. I am 100% satisfied with its picture and video quality. Don’t underestimate its macro lens feature as well. With Macro capability, this lens serves for many different purposes - portrait, landscape, and macro. I would buy only this lens instead of buying multiple lenses especially with this price. This is a must-have.

This lens literally never leaves my camera. It's PERFECT for anything you need to shoot!! I'm a travelling wedding photographer and more often than not I shoot the entire session on this one lens alone. It's hella crisp, fast to focus, built extremely will with quality materials, and weather sealed. What more can you ask for?! At 2.8 it still handles low light pretty well, but I would most likely need to pop on a flash if I intend to use this for a reception or other darkly lit events. If you're shooting outdoors, then this is hands down your go-to lens. The bokeh is beautiful too. Gosh darn it's just perfect and you should buy it and experience the magic yourself.

This lens is so sharp and has beautiful colors out of camera. This lens is the necessary improvement to the lack luster kit lens (that lens is so soft and the images are dull out of camera). The most recent shipment of this lens comes with version 2 preinstalled so it doesn't have the focusing issues that were previously documented.

Is this lens as sharp as the 24-70 GM? No, but it hardly matter when it’s about 95% at 1/3 of the cost. This lens is also about half the weight so it’s much more tolerable to carry around for extended periods of time. Definitely worth the money.

I got this lens on the day of an engagement shoot. The moment I put it on my A7 I feel love with it. Although it has some ghosting and Vignette, It was easy to fix in post with a click of a button in Lightroom. During my engagement shoot I didn't switch my lens once because I just loved how the photos were turning out that the Bokeh is amazing!!! doesn't handle as well in lowlight when I took photos of my son however that might just be my A7.

After waiting approximately six months to catch it in stock, I was delighted to find that it quickly lived up to its reputation. This Tamron lens for Sony E mount cameras is lightweight, sharp and very accurate. As a bonus, the close focusing distance is very near macro. There are no external switches for focus lock, auto/manual operation, but no big deal. For the price, this general-purpose Sony lens should be in just about every Sony shooters bag.
