This was the PERFECT set for my son

This was the PERFECT set for my son, who has had an acoustic guitar for several years and had been begging for an electric. We made him wait until his 12th birthday and it was a huge hit! The colour was just as pictured and everything listed was included. The guitar works perfectly, as does the amp. He was able to figure it all out on his own, except for attaching the whammy bar, which my husband put on for him. We were worried that it would end up being too loud for a condo, but the amp can be turned down quite low. 😊 The instruction DVD is very helpful, too. I would recommend buying a stand for the guitar, as they are heavy and don't stand up well on their own. This was an excellent value and should last him for many years. 🎸

Love my guitar

Received my guitar yesterday (blue). Love it...no problems with guitar, no scratches. I tuned it and hooked it up to amplifier. Sounds great. I know that this is not expensive guitar and amp is small but it's great for the beginner like me. I was playing it all day yesterday. I also have fender acoustic guitar. Love the blue color and today I ordered a nicer guitar strap and a guitar stand. I recommend this guitar for the beginner out there.

You've got to see it to believe it

This is an absolutely beautiful guitar. I mean it's stunning! In all seriousness, pictures on the web do not to this color justice. I call it a TARDIS blue that's semi-transparent, meaning that you see the awesome blue first, and then the wood grain showing through takes it to the next level. Other than that, it's a Squier *by* Fender, not a Fender by Fender. I knew that when I bought it, so I don't compare this to a true Fender. It holds a tune well, is easy to play, and it's a ton of kit for the money. I've included a photo of mine in the sunlight (along with an after-market Imperial crest decal from Amazon I cut and added).

Great for the price!

Very happy with this set. You can't beat the price! My daughter's guitar teacher adjusted it some. He said it didn't have the best "fret work" ever, but he also told us that we wouldn't find a better guitar for the price. We are very happy, and the starter set helps round out the purchase. You have everything there you could need to get started.

Great beginner guitar

We purchased this product for our oldest son for Christmas because he had been asking to learn to play. It's the perfect size for him as a middle schooler. He watches the lessons online and has been teaching himself.

A lot for the money, glad I bought it

I bought this 4 months ago not knowing if I would stick with learning guitar. I bought the rock prodigy app for my iPad which has turned out to be an outstanding app for learning guitar. Now I've decided to keep learning and just moved up to a better, more expensive guitar. But this starter one Is great bargain and what I needed to help me decide if I would stick with it or not .The tuner quit after 2 hours but there are free tuner apps out there that work great so that did not bother me. The only con in my opinion is that my guitar/amp combo hums . That's why I later went with a more expensive guitar with active pickups. I would still recommend this combo to anyone just starting out on guitar. I think the amp is fine, despite what other reviewers say. I also have a fender mustang 2 amp. And while the mustang amp sounds clearer and louder , the amp included with this kit is totally fine for someone just starting out. And its loud enough for me too . The only addition to this kit you need is a guitar stand. Amazon sells some good ones for about $13. The guitar looks well made. I can't see any flaws no matter how close I look. The rounded edges on this guitar and its light weight make it very comfortable to hold while playing. It comes set up to play. All I had to do was tweak the tuning a bit and it was ready to play. Its a great bargain in my opinion. I like the blue color too.

Get this guitar if you're a boomer who has never played.

This guitar looks and sounds great. I'm 65 and just wanted to learn some chords so I could bang out some old tunes. This guitar is perfect for me. The first time I played a power chord that sounded right, I was all smiles and now I'm practicing everyday and enjoying the little successes I've had. The amp is loud enough and clear as a bell. I agree with other reviewers that have marveled at what an incredible value this is. This guitar is perfect for "bucket list" guitarists. It looks like a Strat and it should since it's made by Fender. There are plenty of online lessons available....check out Guitar Tricks as one option.

Loving This Guitar

I highly anticipated receiving this new guitar and amp. When it came in the mail I was impressed by how well everything was packaged for shipping. All the pieces arrived safely and undamaged. I haven't used the tuner yet because I find the app on my phone works well, so it is really not needed. The guitar is beautiful and so far, no issues.

Newbie in love...

Newb here - this is the first guitar I've ever purchased and I did feel as though I was taking a risk ordering one online. Fortunately, my father is a professional musician and guitar teacher and he took a look over it the day after it arrived. We had a great time playing it and he agreed that it was a beautiful instrument. Can't argue with the price either. I am extremely pleased with the color - I ordered the blue thinking it was painted but it is actually a finished blue stain that allows the beauty of the wood's grain to come through. I've played it well over 150 hours for far and I have no complaints at all.
