This has been the best popper I have had. I love popcorn and was trying to cut down on our extra added oils and fats. We were buying bagged microwave popcorn. I have purchased a air popper, a stove popper and an electric popper. this is my final popper! It is made of a thin silicone. Yes it seems flimsy, but it does what it is suppose to do! I add about 2 tablespoons of canola oil, and the popcorn, up to the line it tells you to, mix it around to coat the kernels. My microwave has a popcorn button, that I think is around 2-3 min. It also has the 30 second more button. I listen to the popcorn being popped and will push the 30 second button before the timer counts down, if it is still popping corn every second, it usually is still popping corn so I give it another 30 seconds. The popping starts to slow down at the 20 second count down, then I just stop it. I have let it go the full count down but found that it will burn some of the already popped kernels, so you just need to test with your microwave, they are all different. The bowl is warm, but not hot to touch and the handles are sturdy enough to hold. I don't use the popper as a bowl, but you probably could. I only use popcorn salt, but my family uses different flavored salts, my husband melts a little butter, we all can flavor our own, in our own bowls. The bowl cleans up well with a little Dawn and warm water. I air dry it and it collapses to put away, love that!. Because I fill the popcorn up to the line, the lid does come up but there are not any oil splatters or mess in the microwave. I will be purchasing one for each of my children and friends that love popcorn as I do. Our microwave is 1000 watts and we use Redenbacher corn.

When I saw all the 5-star ratings for the HOTPOP corn popper, I said to myself, "Yeah, not likely." But it was so reasonably priced that I thought I'd take a chance, not much to lose. Well, to my surprise, all those reviewers were actually truthful. This is a great product. I used it for the first time today and it performed beautifully. One-quarter cup of kernels, about 3 minute in the microwave and I had a perfectly popped bowl of popcorn, with only half a dozen unpopped kernels. I highly recommend this product.

I love popcorn, but used to hate dragging my old fashioned popcorn popper out of the cabinet. You know the type. The one that looks like a miniature space ship with a base and clear cover. And you can't immerse the base in water to clean it since that's where the motor is located. Now, if I'm having a popcorn craving, I just pull out the Hotpop, pop it up, put a little Orville-Redenbacher popcorn oil in the bottom and kernels up to the first line. Makes plenty of popcorn for one. I haven't had any problems with scorching like others have mentioned. I've noticed the popcorn is "crunchier" than I used to get from the older popper which I like. Cleaning is a snap: swish the sides and lid with warm, soapy water, turn upside down in the drain to air dry, snap down to closed position and back in the cabinet it goes. I didn't have to find cabinet space since I put it on top of the baking sheets. One note: my 20 year old microwave is low wattage so using the popcorn setting as recommended by the manufacturer just didn't cut it. I set mine on five minutes, regular cycle and listened for the declining pops. Takes 4.5 minutes. It won't take you long to figure out your setting if the instructions don't work for you. Hope you like your Hotpop, I do!

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The HotPop fits in my .7 cu ft 700 watt microwave! Serious popcorn! I know from popcorn; it was our family snack of choice and we had it nearly every evening during the growing-up years. That hasn't changed, and I've used just about every popping method in my own home for the past 37 years or so. For ease, the only way to beat this is with a bag of microwave popcorn. With that, you get expense, paper waste, and whatever questionable ingredients might be lurking in any given brand. The HotPop makes perfect popcorn with very few old maids and whatever additives I want. I have only used the small serving amount, because that's all I need. I have used about a teaspoon of butter, a bit of coconut oil (either/or, not both), and various additives such as salt, paprika, cayenne, or Johnny's Garlic Bread seasoning. I don't know how I never knew about this popper before now, and will do my best to make up for lost time!

Works very well. I was looking for a popcorn popper that will be safe and with no extra chemicals, and after reading several reviews of different products I decided to purchase this Silicone Microwave Popcorn Maker from Hotpop. I am very happy with this purchase. You can pop with or without butter/oil. It also saved a lot of space when you storage it. It was so easy to make the popcorn and the popcorn was so good. use between 1/4 or 1/3 of a cup for best results. I would also recommend to buying this is a gift. This is a great a gift for family or friends.

This is an amazing product .Pops kernels efficiently, resulting in perfect popcorn every time. I really like how I can serve the popcorn in the same bowl that I popped it in, giving me less dishes to wash. The bowl washes up quickly by hand with a sponge and soapy water. We love popcorn and can now make just enough for the two of us without it splattering all over the place! Love it and would buy it as a gift!

Weird, I thought I reviewed this already. This thing is amazing, it works as advertised, and being silicone it can take the heat. Everything on here is silicone, even the lid which looked like a plastic of some sort which had me worried. Popcorn gets hot, especially when you add oil. I think my IR thermometer gun clocked it at around 300F which I had a plastic one of these with a silicone resting pit and the stray hot kernel started melting away the sides. Don't have this issue with this one. Only downfall, is that lid yellows quickly and easily. Which isn't a big deal. I love that it collapses into a nice thin package; living in a tiny condo that's helpful. Either way, great product, and a great way to save money on popcorn. It cleans up super easy too.

This thing is Amaz-balls. Microwave popcorn without all the nasty salt & crap. And it's collapsible. Fill up to their first line with a 1/4c of popcorn it makes about 5 &1/2c of fluffly perfect popcorn. I also made 1tbsp of kernels which made 2cups of popcorn. Perfect single size. I had a lot of kernels left at the bottom of the bowl my first try with the 1/4c but I scooped out the popcorn and put the bowl back with the unpopped kernels and it made another 1&1/2c of popcorn. It gives crisp fluffy nice popcorn when using premium kernels. You can use with a tiny bit of oil or none. I made a bowl of all variations of oil, no oil, coconut oil refined and unrefined. The fluffiness and crispiness was the same for all versions. But the two best tasting was no oil plain one and the organic virgin unrefined coconut oil to give it a nutty flavor. Put in another bowl and eat plain or add salt, butter, flavoring etc. But it will still be less sodium than the store bough microwave popcorns. I made 4 bowls back to back and none of them got burned. I did use the listening method of the pops slowing down. In my microwave which I think is 1100 watts it takes about 3.5 - 4 mins.

Absolutely amazing! I am throwing out my old popcorn maker, there is no need for it anymore. I cannot believe how easy it was to make perfect popcorn and use the same bowl to eat out of. I have let all my friends know about this! Buy it!
