I have this floor lamp that I just love. It just fits the furnishings of the living room so well. The light socket had been "going out" for a long time. I would turn it and turn it and the light would flicker but not come on - no matter how many new bulbs I put in. Hubby is so good with this kind of stuff. He told me to order this and after it arrived, he fixed this in less than 5 minutes. He's kind of awesome that way! I don't think he used much more than a screw driver. It didn't look complicated at all. Now the lamp works perfectly again. Pros: - Easy install - Very inexpensive considering the cost of a lamp replacement. Cons - but not really: - it takes a whole 5 minutes to do. You kind of just have to choose to do it. Looking at it, it's almost self explanatory so don't be afraid of the $8 attempt before you throw out your favorite lamp.

These replacement inserts were exactly as described. They arrived on time in clear plastic bag packaging. The inserts were very easy to replace as they required the existing collars both cardboard and brass. All other necessary parts were included. Complete job time for replacement was minimal and switches work with ease precision.
