Larger heads mean more fastening (and much larger & better than Hillman brand at Lowes & HD)

Once again, good ole Amazon OUT PERFORMS none other than both Lowes and Home Depot when it comes to Stainless Steel (SS) hardware. Lowes and Home Depot BOTH carry Hillman brand fasteners. In the case of 3/8"-16 3 inch bolts, the Hillman brand nuts would NOT FIT and required removal by a saws-all. In this case, the Hillman brand heads are literally 1/2 the OD of these heads which means that THIS FASTENER has more holding power than the Hillman which can be easily "over-driven" by your Dewalt electric drive tool. WHO KNEW that we dedicated DIY'ers would start buying HARDWARE from Amazon instead of using a local traditional brick and mortar "get it now" store. I hope someone in the Lowes' HQ is paying attention IF they care about truly providing reliable parts.

Excellent service. Packaged nicely. I just completed a project (18" X 32" flower box) using 36 of these SS screws. I had absolutely no stripping off heads as some other reviewers seemed to have experienced. Perhaps folks should try drilling a pilot hole to relieve torque pressure on the shaft....if they have not done so. These screws are well designed, milled and finished. The price per unit is quite inexpensive compared to the big box stores...Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc. I highly recommend this merchandise.

Great choice for my lumber rack!

I installed a PortaMate PBR-001 lumber storage rack in my workshop. The instructions recommended a 1/4"x3" fastener for stud installation, and I wanted a truss head so I didn't have to worry about the tapered head of a wood screw butting against the steel of the rack. These screws nicely fit the bill - I went with stainless steel for longevity and to avoid rust. Fast shipping and quality product

Screws were used in conjunction with fender washers to attach wire mesh to the wood framing of an outdoor cat enclosure. These were wonderful, self-driving screws that won't rust in the elements. So much easier and sturdier to use them instead of heavy-duty staples - wire mesh was attached in no time. Not a dud in the bunch - no stripped heads. So pleased with their quality and ease of use that I placed a second order for future projects.

Worked as designed. Removed the 25 year old tarnished screws on my storm door frame and put these in their place. One lesson learned: buy the same type of screw you are replacing. My old screws were hex/slot and I purchased Phillips. Doubled my replacement time. Very pleased with new look and peace of mind.

GREAT FIND

I cannot find quality wood screws of this size and quality at big box stores. I gave up on them. These screws are of superior quality, no issues with installing, I love them. I always need wood screws for something, and it is nice to know that I can find what I need without spending so much time standing in the hardware isle at the store and swearing under my breath because they don't carry smaller wood screws that aren't crap.

I received the screws quickly and the order was accurate. The heads had the expected level of polish and they worked well with a #2 Philips screwdriver. As you would expect, stainless is a bit softer than some other hardened metals but if keep the screwdriver straight and push firmly, I was able to install into white oak(need a pilot hole) without stripping the Philips receiver in the screw head.

Exactly whet I needed to attach stainless oven backsplash and side

Larger head size in width that what came with my stainless backsplash for freestanding stove. So holds it on better and is more tolerant to screwing down and not imparting a visible dent to the panel in doing so.

Soft screws

The screw head where you put the screw driver in stripped. Possibly these should be hand screwed instead of screwed in with a drill because the screw head stripped so that I was unable to get the drill bit to work with the screw.

Large truss head, and good quality stainless steel

The quality of the screws is great. Large truss head spreads out pressure, which is exactly what I needed. Great value for 100 screws. Will definitely buy more of these in different sizes when I need them.
