Good printer good customer support!
August 5th 2018 The printer is almost running smoothly, I need to do a little more fine tuning. The problem below was resolved quickly (within a day) and the customer support was very helpful Would recommend August 4th, 2018 Will not extrude, I've cleaned out the nozzel 3 times now and after watching some reviews on YouTube I think the fittings are the problem. Great kit, the quality is very good on almost all the parts, they seem to be very strong and a good design. The instructions were hard to follow on the paper but easy enough to assemble following a video. I will update this review as I go on and after I contact the seller.

This is not a "take out of the box ready to print" printer, but for the money, its unbeatable
Lets start off with the downsides. If you are looking for something you unbox, press one button and have perfectly printed objects, this isn't it. Most 3d printing takes some trial and error and takes some tweaking to get just right. If you have some patience this can be a fantastic printer. If this is your first printer expect to take anywhere from 1-4 hours putting it together and getting it flat and square. This will most likely involve loosening and tightening bolts that were already put together. The printer should lay flat, and mine didn't out of the box. You'll also need to spend some time getting the slicer settings just right. Go on thingiverse and download some test and calibration stls and work on that. I got a glass bed right off the bat and I'm so glad I did. You can get great prints with the regular print bed, but if the base is warped at all then you'll spend a lot of time dealing with that instead of printing. After a week I have mine to about 90%. It prints great, but I'm having some extrusion problems. Also make sure you switch the voltage to 115 if you're in North America BEFORE turning it on. It looks like it comes from the factory switched to 230 even if it comes with a US style plug. I didn't have an issue, but I've heard people who missed this step and ruined their machine.

Great Printer. Great Company.
After a lot of reading about so called Prusa clones, I decided to order an Ender 3. I placed my order on September 28th, received an email from Creality on October 2nd confirming my order and offering me free lifetime support. Not many Amazon vendors reach out to support their customer, and this really impressed me. I received the printer on October 3rd. This impressed me even more. Shipping to Alaska is usually a crap shoot, with a high price on top of it. Now, about the printer. Very easy to assemble, the instructions were pretty clear. I assembled the printer to figure out how it all fit together, then I tore it apart to adjust everything and make sure it was square and level. Word of advice, double and triple check the adjustment of the V-wheels. I thought I had everything together pretty well, but I am starting to see some wear already on the wheels. This was no fault of the printer, I was eager to get some prints going and didn't check my work. The upside to this is the wheels are not expensive or hard to replace. There are many Youtube videos showing this. Print quality: Very good, takes some adjustments in your slicing software. A lot of people are recommending Cura, but I've heard the profile is a little wrong. I am using Simplify 3D for slicing and have had very good results with the stock settings. I did tweak some settings to get some finer detail. I am still working on this though. There are a couple of upgrades I would recommend. Get different pneumatic fittings for the Bowden tube, the factory ones are a little hard to work with and if you don't get the tube seated properly you will have a jam in the hot end. I had this problem and it then caused my extruder drive wheel to plug with filament shavings. This is an easy fix though. Print a filament guide, there are a lot of models on Thingiverse for this. Lastly, it seems like the bed needs to be leveled fairly often. The recommendation here is to replace the factory leveling springs. Have ordered some and will see how that works. All in all this is a great printer and the minor modifications needed are not very expensive or complicated. I would highly recommend this printer for anyone. This is my 3rd printer and it seems to perform almost as well as my Flashforge Creator Pro that cost a lot more. If you do purchase, make sure your are getting the official Creality Ender 3 and not one of the clones.

Great first printer.
Went together easy enough. Simple instructions. After getting it set up and printed a couple of upgrades it runs smooth and the prints look great. As a side note I had a small hiccup that was easily fixed, but the support team was on top of it. Offered a couple of fixes and I was able to get it sorted and back to printing in no time. Great support from the creality team. I know where I'm getting my next printer from. EDIT. After having it about 4 or five months. And using it almost daily. I can say this thing is great. I have moved on to printing abs as well as pla. I made an enclosure around it to help it keep the heat in. And after about 4 or 5 spools of filament I had a failure that I thought killed it. A lump of abs all over the hot end. Terrible mess. After about 5 or 6 emails that were answered in the middle of the night mind you the guy I spoke with had me do some simple trouble shooting test to find out what went wrong. And within 12 hours of my problem arising... he has shipped replacement parts. Outstanding customer support. I've said it before but I'll never buy a printer from anyone but these guys. Top notch customer support. 5 stars isnt enough.

Ender 3: Best Bang for the Buck on Market Today!
I love this printer! I have a CR-10s and wanted to add another printer as I'll be selling parts and need to increase my print capacity. Overall, I'm more impressed with this little powerhouse than I am with my CR-10s though they use much of the same components and are built using very similar hardware. I'll outline the similarities and differences below. I print PLA and PLA+ from Hatchbox and eSun (200c and 210c respectively) but otherwise my Cura settings are the same for both (tweaked default Cura profiles). While it's nice to have the extra print volume, I prefer the Ender 3 and for the price I will probably be buying several more! Similarities include: frame parts and hardware (sizing differs), hot end, bowden tube, X and Y axis motor and drive belt. Differences: Smaller print volume (Ender 220x220x250; CR10 300x300x400) All-in-one design (doesn't have a 'ball-and-chain' control box like the CR-10 does) Single Z axis motor and rod (CR-10 has a dual Z motor/rod) Coated print bed (CR-10 comes with a glass bed) Large, easy to adjust bed leveling knobs (CR-10 has annoying small bed leveling knobs) Filament spool mount at the top of the frame (CR-10 mounted on control box) No color inserts, straight black frame *UPDATE: My hot end seems to have died after printing great for a couple days. I will be returning and re-ordering because I loved this little printer so much while it was working. Unfortunately, the hot end is permanently wired into the control box so a part swap wouldn't be easy. Re-ordering a new printer is the way to go on this one. It started as under-extrusion halfway through a print. Then I noticed the extruder gear would push filament and then snap back like there was resistance somewhere along the line. I ruled out the extruder gear by running the extruder without filament, it worked as expected. It would only do this when it tried to push filament through the nozzle. The next logical step was to clean it out in case there was a partial clog, unlikely since it was a brand new printer. All cleaned and still no luck. It actually seemed to be getting worse. The more I tried to trouble shoot, the less filament would come out of the hot end. Eventually, the hot end no longer reach a temp capable of melting the filament and I couldn't even hand feed filament through. The screen read 210c but the hot end was barely heated at all. Return processed, printer re-ordered. The assembly was a breeze and I'm sure I can get the new one printing in an hour or so now that I've gone through the assembly once already. I'll edit with another update soon... UPDATE 2: The new printer has been running like a gem for a few weeks now. I LOVE this little thing. I won't post a long-winded update. I'll just say that returning and re-ordering through Amazon was a breeze as always and in my opinion makes it work the extra money over some other lower-priced options outside of Amazon. That's all folks! Now I need to get back to printing!

Not a printer for those who want to plug and just play
When you receive it, you have to build it yourself. I personally love building things so this could be a con for those who are expecting right out of the box printing. So after I completed the build, but then I spent a significant amount of time trying to calibrate it, after various test which took a few days (because i'm a noob), I realized my print bed was warped. So you should definitely check out your print bed is not warped. I contacted Creality and they responded not only quickly (within the same hour for me) but they offered an immediate replacement as soon as the contact and our exchange was completed. It came in 4 days. Excellent response from the original creators of the Ender 3. I think one of the benefits of building it yourself is you get to learn how everything works and broaden your experience in troubleshooting it.

I am so impressed with this printer that I ordered a second one.
I have been building 3D Printers for several years now, but I wanted a dedicated printer for printing minis and the reviews for this printer where good for that purpose and I couldn't build one for this price. Easy to build, but do not attempt to use the useless instruction sheet that comes with the machine, make sure you print the instructions included on the sd card. Also, watch a couple youtube videos on building the ender3, they will help you understand the build alot better. Added Note: I print on picture frame glass cut to 9 1/4 inches square, just spray the glass with some Aquanet hair spray before printing. Works great if you need a cheap alternative for build plate. I have been printing for several years on picture frame glass.

One word, Wow!
Let me start off by saying that I am an educator and that I have been using 3D printers for the last four years. We wrote a grant at my school and purchased 2 printrbot simple metals and 4 printrbot metal plus printers. They range in price from $699 - $1100. I assembled two of them and they were very somewhat difficult. I ordered the Creality ender 3 to have something to mess around with at home and see if it would be something that I could really push to be used in the classroom because of the price difference. I have ran this printer really hard for about two weeks now and I am very impressed. The assembling was really easy. It took me a little over an hour. I watched a youtube video that made the whole process very easy. The quality of prints I am getting are just as good as the printrbot and it seems to be a little faster. I really like not having to use painters tape to get prints to stick to the print bed. I also love the option of being able to take the top layer of the print bed off and pop the prints loose. That is an awesome feature. The bed leveling was tricky at first but once I watched a video on it, it is not a problem. It is a little warped on one corner, but the prints still cover off very accurate. I do want to upgrade to the glass bed to see if that makes any difference, but I do not feel at this point it is a necessity. I will be talking to my administration soon to discuss purchasing several of these printers to have in our school. Thank you for making an affordable printer for everyone that gets the job done and has a pretty big print area.

Seems like a great value
I would say you get great bang for the buck with this printer. Like many others I put a cheap mirror on it for a print surface. Prints better than a thousand dollar printer I have. Just realize that like any 3D Printer you can expect a certain amount adjusting all the time.

Verdict is in, 2 thumbs up.... was: (verdict is still out)
Update: Creality was very quick to respond to my issue with a warped build plate and took care of the problem. I'm happy to report now that bed leveling is a breeze and I don't have issues with my prints sticking in the center anymore. I've come to expect QC issues with these 'inexpensive' Chinese, shall I say gadgets. So having something out of the box that isn't perfect is OK with me as long as the seller/company takes care of the issue, in this case Creality did so pronto.. so thank you. Overall this is probably the best bang per print volume out there and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from creality again. This isn't my first 3d printer (does anyone buy just 1?) Ordered a few weeks ago and just now having some time to get it setup. A couple notes that may help others during the build/setup. Out of the box, the pre-assembled lower portion was not built straight/square. This is a pretty easy fix, loosen all the bolts that hold the extrusion together and set it on a level surface and re-tighten all bolts. The Z stepper mounting didn't line up nice and square, you need to loosen all those mounting bolts, get the Z screw running and then tighten down when straight/square. I think I even saw some shims or mounts on thingiverse to address this. My build plate is warped/bent. If I level in the corners the print wont adhere in the center. If I level the center, the nozzle digs into the corners. Scratched my build mat all to hell trying to get that workable (which I can't). I did email creality and we'll see how they respond and I'll adjust my rating based on that. I would just buy a glass bed for it, but that's another $30, and it's warped enough that that glass wont sit flat enuf to heat properly.. then I need a thermal pad.. grrr.. there's more $$.. just get me solid level bed and build mat and I'll be happy. Overall this is a good solid printer and great value for the $ that I would give 4.5 stars if my warped bed is addressed, until then I'd have to say it's a 3
