Heavy Duty

I had a need for a heavy duty Sliding Bolt Latch not for a gate, but to latch my pull down attic staircase. This worked out well. This is made in China, but that aside, it is well made from 303 stainless steel. It passed the "magnet test" to verify it is non ferrous. ( magnet doesn't stick) The keeper is stamped but reinforced with tac weld. It has a hole as depicted for a pad lock in the slide bolt to lock open or closed. This would well be suited for outdoor use.

Well made substantial latch

Well made latch that should hold up to salt air. Operates smoothly, but didn't use small screws that came with it. Maybe they would have been OK as the hinges I bought from another vendor also came with small screws, but decided to to larger to better fit the chamfer and were 1 1/2" long. Only other comment is size of hole in keeper has very small tolerance to throw bolt, so the slightest misalignment due to settling will require lifting the gate to operate the bolt. The plus side of that is it keeps the gate from moving back and forth in a breeze. All in all, happy with product.

Works Well

Feels solid and works well. Like many of the stainless steel equipment, the screws are too small for putting on a large wooden privacy fence gate. I recommend looking into your own screws if you plan to put it to use for big projects.

This is a very high-quality latch. It was easy to install and I think it's going to last a very long time. Highly recommend it.

I didn't install it yet, my gate is not ready, but the latch looks to be very good quality. It came with extra stainless steel screws. Totally recommend.

Very easy to install . . . and sturdy

I’m not mechanically-inclined, nor an adept do-it-yourselfer, but this was easy to install (even for a 72-year oldster like myself) — and sturdy enough for my needs.

Nice hardware for a great price

I just bought my fourth one. I Love the stainless steel for corrosion resistance. This has a nice stout 3/8 in bolt. The bolt is long so it is secure and gives more mounting clearance options. The screws are to short for my taste but I don’t really care. There seem to be 3 or 4 vendors on amazon selling the same exact thing. This one was the least expensive that I found. Another fine product on amazon.....

Very strong and well-made - I highly recommend. I do wish they sent better screws but that's easy to fix. I'm using two of them to hold an access door to my crawl space. Definitely worth the money.
