Super solid, easy to install

Really good system. Strong but easy to install. Much easier than a single piece with the two shafts on the same mount because it allows the spacing to be flexible to drill right into your studs. I would feel comfortable putting over 50 pounds on my shelf.

Works great! Sturdy, exactly what we needed

Used the floating shelf support brackets to mount a custom piece of cedar to the wall as a nightstand. Easy enough to install and mount the cedar too. Holds plenty of weight.

Solid product could be perfect if ...

It is pretty solid and sturdy. The brackets are straight saving a lot of efforts in installation. So far two brackets have no problem handling 50 lb of weight using the long screws coming with the package screwed to the studs. One improvement could make life easier if the distance of the screw holes on the brackets could be shortened to 1”. Now it sits 1.5” apart exactly the width of regular studs in my house. I had to screw them slightly tilted to bite into the studs.

Solid brackets

These are 1/2 inch thick solid steel brackets to mount floating shelves. I don't know the weight rating on the brackets, but it's more than enough to hold the 3.5" x 10.5" beam (28" long) that we used them for. 2 brackets per shelf in the kitchen to hold knick knacks and a vase - I don't think it's going to fall! The brackets come with some mounting hardware, including some drywall anchors - but I didn't use them. The drywall anchors are the good screw in type, and it includes the expandable plastic anchors for use in masonry, but the screws are cheap black drywall screws. I used stainless deck screws to go straight into the studs on the wall. The hardest part of the installation is getting the brackets on perfectly straight - there's no adjustment - so they line up with the holes you drill in the wood shelf. It's best to use a drill press to drill the holes so they're straight, but it can be done with a hand drill with patience. I used a jig to line up the drilled holes. The shelves are solid on these brackets, and despite the hassle of lining up the holes (unavoidable with floating shelves!) they are definitely worth the price - which is cheaper than many other similar brackets!
