There isn’t much not to like.
It seems accurate, but more importantly, it is very consistent. It is heavy and feels very sturdy. Much nicer than my previous HF one. I see several people complaining about the battery compartment. I don’t know what the deal is. There is a card right on top when you open the case that states there is a screw on the back side to release the battery cover. Speaking of the battery, it is larger than my previous calipers, so should last much longer. I have only been using it a week though, so may update once I see how long it lasts. I love that it is water proof. Not that I will be using underwater, but accidents happen... And lastly, it comes with a pretty decent hard plastic case. I don’t love the latches, but it is well formed and should last quite a while.

Finally, a digital calipers that has a bigger battery that lasts
This particular calipers, unlike all the others I have bought, uses the commonly available CR2032 which is 3 volts and 220 milliamp-hours. This is a lithium coin cell with long shelf life and is used on computer motherboards to preserve the BIOS start system and real time clock. It may last 5 years. Lithium chemistry gives a nearly constant voltage until depletion, and the 3 volts is well above the minimum voltage that the display and circuitry need. The LR44 cell used in other digital calipers is 1.5 volts new, falling linearly to 1.0 volts with a capacity of 190 milliamp-hours. The circuitry won't work at 1.0 volts, and much of the battery power cannot be used before you can no longer use the calipers. The SR44 silver cell starts at 1.55 volts, but in my experience has a poor shelf life and has been no better than the LR44 in calipers. Its end of life voltage is 1.2 volts, so it should be better, but my silver oxide SR44 cells seemed to die as quickly as the LR44. The CR2032 at 3 volts is well above minimum needed voltage and has excellent shelf life. Other features of this digital caliper is nicely ground jaws, a good finish, and sealed for water protection to IP54. Disadvantages: The IP54 sealed battery compartment cover is hard to remove, and may require a tiny screwdriver to pry open. I could open it the first time with my fingers, but the second time required the screwdriver. Perhaps I closed it too tightly. In any event, the original battery already in the unit should last years. The circuitry needs only microampers, but does require 1.3 volts or more, so this unit was designed with the right type of coin cell. The picture shows a CR2032 on the left and the less desirable SR44 on the right. Note the large battery cover for the CR2032.

Well made and accurate
Unlike the waterproof unit also sold in this listing, the stainless steel caliper runs off a single button battery, but the auto off should yield a long life though. The caliper works smooth and seems ruggedly made. A prior pair I owned had epoxy graphite jaws and the measuring surface wore rapidly which killed the accuracy in short order. The stainless jaws of these should wear less than the plastic jaws of the cheaper version also sold in this listing. I kind of miss the fractional inch setting of other calipers I've owned, but these are still a great value.

Very fine crafted piece of machinery
When you pull it out of the box and it's still in its wrapper you can already feel the quality. It has a substantial feel to it. I bought it for woodworking and it will do just fine. If I were to get a $200 caliper in my hands I may have a different point of view. The only thing that seemed a little odd was the adjustment wheel. It has some play in it and will only engage when you apply pressure. This may be by design but not sure what it gains for functionality but I'd prefer it to never disengage. Otherwise, at the low price it sells for ($29.99) the quality of the product is well worth it. They promised me delivery in two days and I got mine in one day. I highly recommend.

Plastic caliper at a good value
This is a good caliper for the money. Like most in this price range, it uses hard plastic for its jaws - not ideal if you are measuring a lot of metal along a sharp edge, but good for most purposes. It does have "IP54" molded on to the plastic of the battery cover, which you would hope to indicate that it is splash resistant, but devoid of context it could be claimed to be a model number. The specifications on the carton say "Influence of humidity: Up to 80% non-condensing" and Operating Temperature: 0 deg Celsius to 40 deg Celsius. They are offering a Blade Master Feeler Gauge (worth $10-$15) for a "1 to 5 stars" review to "random customers" (so not explicitly asking for good reviews, though a bias to please has been identified as a phenomena for these sorts of programs). Update 2018-03-23: They did provide very prompt and fluent response to my email to get the Feeler Gauge, which makes me feel good about any future support needs: "... The jaw of this digital caliper is made by hard plastic with high quality. If you have a really high requirement on the jaw of a digital caliper, we will recommend our high-end digital caliper which is all made by metal. Please see below: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Caliper-Waterproof-Measurement-Resolution/dp/B07D4FHY8N Also, about "but devoid of context it could be claimed to be a model number". The IP54 on the digital caliper is the Ingress Protection Grade 54 which means dust protected and waterproof. What’s more, about the influence of humidity, this digital caliper can work perfectly under 80% of relative humidity. But if the relative humidity is above 80%, the humidity might affect the accuracy. This is because the droplets of moisture will have an influence on this kind of high precision instrument. ..."

I also like the case that was included with the caliper
I was looking for a digital caliper to measure screws size. It saves me a lot of time from guessing which drill bit to get. The caliper seems to be very accurate and solid. I also like the case that was included with the caliper.

Quality Merchandise
I received my Dijite Electronic Digital Caliper today and was pleased to find a quality stainless precision device that far exceeded my expectations. For years, I have used a plastic caliper that was good for two place accuracy. This new caliper is good for four place accuracy either in inch or metric mode. It is easily calibrated to zero before use and has an easy to read LCD display. The measuring jaws are highly polished and can read an internal or external distance. The caliper is powered by a 1-1/2 volt "coin battery". I recommend this instrument to anyone needing a good caliper. Don Mills

Really beautifully made, looks like it will stabs the test of time
This is a phenomenal quality product. It moves SO smoothly, and it’s well built - it puts my other calipers to shame.

Not a $200 set but great value for the price
If you are expecting this to be as smooth or as well built as a $200 set of calipers you will not get that. But what you will get is a great quality set for the price. From what I can tell thus far these calipers will hold up for sometime. This is a great fit for the hobbiest machinist or someone that needs a good set for their toolbox. I have lightly tested the accuracy of these calipers and they seem to be accurate ( tested using various thickness of feelers). For what I am currently using these for (rough estimates on groove depths to the nearest .005") they are perfect.

Good low price calipers
I had several ~$15 calipers that all started failing. When they did work the batteries died fast. So I was looking for something a little nicer but still not the crazy $100+ ones. These seem to fit that well. They feel more sturdy than the cheaper ones I have used. Accuracy is decent and I like the larger battery. There is another middle priced set I have found that is $40 but the body is the same, they just come with a different case, a screw driver, and a battery. If you are buying calipers, you probably already have a screw driver :) and you can get a 6 pack of batteries for $4 so I went with the ones here and am I happy I did.
