Even though these are considered nas drives. I use them in my dialy pc in raid. It's always on. Prices drives but I hear they are worth it. Time will tell as I have not had good luck with Seagate. Hoping these don't let me down. They are fast.

I have a Synology NAS and one of the old 4TB drives died after 6 years. So can't complain about the old drive which was actually a 4TB desktop drive so it probably lasted much longer than the MFG planned. Anyway, I pulled the old dead drive, put this 6TB drive and and told the Synology system to rebuild the RAID and I was done. I know I only get 4 of the 6TB this way, but when the next drive fails, I'll do this again, and again. Then once all the drives are upgraded I'll expand the RAID.

I've been running a few of these in my FreeNAS for about a year, and when it came time to increase storage size I bought a few more without hesitation. Nice that they give detailed drive information for monitoring (temperature, load averages, etc) and are whisper quiet. Shock protection is also great, I dropped one on tile floor while I was getting it out of the box and it had zero problems passing all tests and badblocks, not a single dead sector. I've had a few consumer grade drives fail in my NAS over the years, but not a single one of these has come close to breaking. Well worth the slightly higher cost if you have critical data to back up (or you just want additional peace of mind) :)

Have been looking for storage for my cable tv channel and this fit the billed bought 2 for my Synology and plan on buying two more.

Installation a breeze, no noise, and storage capacity for the price awesome. Great product!

Early on its hard not to be satisfied with the Seagate IronWolf. The NAS grade hard drives are more expensive than regular ones but, we hope, they are designed to run 24/7 for a long time. It is whisper quiet which was a really nice change from my old set up. But...the only review that will count is the one I could give you in about ten years.

Drive installed and working now 3 weeks, no complaints. Product as advertised, will buy again.

Plug and play with the Synology DS218J. Have two of these drives in a raid configuration, and so far very impressed. It is in the closet next to the network distribution panel at home in the bedroom, and it is running nearly totally silent. Does not come with screws or other mounting hardware.

Fits great. Bought two for a Synology NAS. Quiet, sufficient storage, don’t seem hot, no surface errors picked up on initial scan. Packaging was sketchy at best. A lot of play in the drive box. Used these to step up from older and smaller WD purples.

We only buy Seagate drives and especially the IronWolf models. They really perform in the most harsh conditions. 24x7 for years.
