The Battery Size is AA for the 51 LED Flashlight and not AAA as noted in the product description It arrived today, a day earlier than expected and before my morning cup of coffee :] It came in/with a box, but no instructions. Not even battery size or warranty info. So, I came here to see what size batteries I needed. I read 2 AAA - which I have on hand. They kept falling out and there was an extra place for 3 batteries. Mind you, I NEED my morning cup of coffee to function. As I tried again to fit the batteries in their receptacle, it dawned on me to try AA batteries. So, I did and TA-Da! The flashlight went on ^_^ This page was still open when I came back to my computer. I noticed that there are 2 sizes offered. The 51 LED lights and the 12 LED Black Light UV Flashlights. I bought the 51 Black Light UV Flashlight. I can only surmise (I tried not to say "assume") the 12 Black Light UV Flashlight takes the AAA batteries. This product fact is in the description for the 12 Black Light UV Flashlight. AND the batteries are apparently, included in that one per it's description. Also, the description for the 51 Black Light UV Flashlight states, as of today, that no batteries are required. Really? I can tell you, for a fact, that this flashlight does not work without batteries. No matter what the size. I think the descriptions should be updated to reflect the actual facts about these flashlights. The flashlight, in and of itself, works great! It revealed stuff that I didn't want to know, yet have to know. Like potty training, and dog marking, mishaps around the house. I'm torn between a 4 and 5 star review because, other than the faulty descriptions, the flashlight works as stated. Obviously, I bought the flashlight without thoroughly reading the product description. Therefore, I feel that this is on me. For this reason, I will give it 5 stars.

easily portable way to see what is real

I take it with me when I go to auctions that have old paintings so I can see the extent of overpainting and other modifications not visible with normal light, that may need restoration which would determine my bidding or not bidding on any piece whose value I would like to increase.

I kept her cleaning deposit

I have an investment property that I rent out. I love dogs so I am okay with tenants that have pets so long as they disclose them and agree to pay for a thorough cleaning before they leave. One tenant claimed to not have pets, but the apartment manager who helps me keep an eye on the place informed me she had one. So on my final walk through, it was obvious even the normal cleaning was not done, the place smelled off. I asked if she had a pet in there and she denied it. I had brought this flashlight over to the apartment, so turned off the lights and the walls glowed throughout the place, in addition to select spots on the floor which hadn't been cleaned in some time. I told her "I can see how a pet who was not yet trained could do this, that is why I ask for a pet cleaning fee, but are you telling me that you normally urinate on the walls and floor yourself? " I kept her cleaning deposit.

My dog is house broken and does a really great job of using the bathroom outside always but accidents happen! I knew she had one while i was out for awhile but i couldn’t find where. Ordered this light on prime and it was here the next day and worked awesome! Found the spot right away on my carpet and some other things in the bathroom/kitchen (unrelated to my dog). BUYER BEWARE: you can’t unsee the horrors of your house under this black light 😂

Didn't expect this!

I've purchased a few black lights that were worthless so I wasn't expecting much. However, we have had our puppy for 4 months and she is still not housebroken! So I'm desperate. First I tried in my kids room because there was a fresh wet spot. Didn't show anything - but I tried it elsewhere just in case. And good grief my carpet lit up all over the place in two areas I know the pup likes to potty. And in a few I didn't know about! Turns out this will not work on wet urine, it must be dried to pick up under the light. Time to start cleaning!!!

Not for the faint of heart. Seriously. Only buy this if you can stomach the realities of pets. Does a great job but that’s the problem. I suddenly felt uneasy being on all carpeted areas. We are now replacing all of our carpet.

Just what I needed!

I hadn't realized my female cat was spraying in my house until I started smelling urine! This flashlight picked up all those nasty spots on the wall, carpet and furniture. I was so shocked to see it all! It took me two days to clean it all up. I now have the Feliway diffuser and spray in her 'main room' and I even purchased the Sentry calming collar for her as well. I am hoping all this works so I can keep her. I'll give it a couple weeks and see if her behavior improves with these Feliway products.

Works for scorpions! Recommend to use UV blocking glasses...it's bright!

Small but super bright. Much more so than the small UV headlamp I was using for scorpions...so much so that they seem to know when they are lit up and start trying to hide. Could sneak up on them better with the dimmer headlamp, but with this one you can see them from much further away and can point it off to the side a bit to be more stealthy. Takes 3 AA batteries. Recommend to get UV-blocking glasses (also available on Amazon for a good price) to protect your eyes--you still see what fluoresces with the glasses, but avoid UV getting to your precious eyeballs. :^)

Wow... life changing!

I have an older cat who has been marking his territory for a decade in my house... I had purchased cheaper blacklight flashlights from Amazon. Both of them were in the $7-8 range. Both of them gave out a puny light that required the room to be pitch black and for me to be just a foot or two from the urine spot. One of them had to be constantly shaken to get the flickering puny light to even come on... It was like that from the beginning and should have been returned but I just suffered through. I finally got fed up and decided to buy one that was a little more high end, only $3-4 more. I was totally amazed, seeing things I had been missing for awhile, cleaned and scrubbed for days... and now I am able to check the house every night to keep up with it. I feel so liberated. My cat is 22 years old and he feels liberated too, obviously always has.... I just didn't realize how much.

It’s pretty, at least.

I got this because our dogs apparently had a complete regression on their house training and were urinating/marking in the house. We couldn’t always see it, but we could smell it. I ordered this in the hopes of shedding some (blue) light on the urine we weren’t able to see with our naked eye. One of the previous reviews said it only worked on dried fluids, but even still at least I could give the area a good cleaning. Unfortunately, we haven’t noticed that this shows any fluids - dried or otherwise. It is, however, a really pretty blue light and makes lighter colors look cool. Update - bumping my review up because of customer service! They’re phenomenal!
