Like it more than expected

I think most wide-brim hats look like either granny hats or baby bonnets, but sun hats/straw hats leave hair ridges and don't work on beach chairs, so I decided to give this a try to take on a cruise. For having such a functional, wide brim, this looks decent. Not a fashion statement for sure, but not a total embarrassment on the beach either. The hat is adjustable from very small to very large. I have a larger-than-average head, so sometimes hats don't adjust wide enough - I could make this much bigger than I need. I didn't realize it comes with a detachable strap, and that came in really handy on some windy islands. I like being able to put my hair in a ponytail with it, and also letting the top of my hair get some sun. It's super easy to adjust, even while wearing it, so it was always comfortable. It was also much easier to pack than a big sun hat.

BUY THIS ONE

I have purchased several sun hats. This is the only hat that has a brim LARGE enough to shade my entire face - even when the sun is at an angle. Other hats - with smaller brims - don't offer enough protection. I even tried to pull one of the smaller brimmed hats down - it was almost perched on the bridge of my nose. Couldn't see where I was going and almost ran into a light post. I'm very happy with this hat, and no longer have to risk a head-on collision....

Not only looks cute but is comfortable to boot

I bought this hat with low expectations and because it had the free return option. I'm not a hat person but shading my face from the sun as I get older has become more important than being fashionable. I was shocked when I put the hat on and LOVED it immediately. I've never loved a hat on me before. I think it not only looks good with my hair up or down but is super comfortable with the adjustable velcro closure AND shades my whole face including my ears!! I couldn't ask for more. I do see two little loops where you could potentially attach a chin strap if it's windy but mine didn't come with one so I'll just make one with a ribbon down the line if I feel it's needed. Absolutely would recommend this hat if you are looking for good face protection from the blazing sun.

Heads up

While this most definitely may be too large a brim for most people, this is exactly what I wanted and needed to keep the sun off most of my face. I also didnt want anything that went all the way around in back so that I can keep it on and still lay down on a beach chair with this on and its not as small as a baseball cap.. I also like the color block of black/white

So I don't think I've ever left a review, but this product made me so happy that I'm making time to leave this review. I have searched high and low for the perfect hat/visor, whatever it takes to protect my skin from the sun! I have tried and returned so many hats before finding this gem! I also bought a super expensive hat from Nordstrom's that gave me a headache and did not fit my head! What I love about this is the 5" brim, which does a great job of really protecting your face from the sun, also the super padded forehead band is so comfortable and does not give you a headache or feel uncomfortable. It is actually really comfortable, almost like better than wearing nothing at all! It also has great protection for the sides. I was for a while wearing those full-face visors popular in Korea because I had a laser peel and really didn't care about what people thought of me, but really needed to protect my results. After I got people jumping up in their seats when I turned to look at them because the visor was all black and covered my entire face and did look scary, I decided to scale back and try a "visor" instead. This visor is the happy medium between a full-face visor that covers your entire face and visor that "looks good" but does not really offer you that sun protection you are looking for! I am going to order another one in the white and black combo. The ONLY thing I wish is that the label wasn't on there. I was going to have a tailor remove the label, but I think that it is not able to removed because it is embossed in! Besides that, I found my perfect hat for all year long!

Perfect Visor!!!

This is a great visor. It really covers a lot of your face. It has a clip at the back with some stretch arms so it would easily fit on anyone's head. I would definitely recommend.

Love the extra wide brim!

I love this visor hat! The extra wide brim is perfect for sun protection on my morning walks. It's protective from the sunshine and I can still keep my head up to see where I'm going without the sunshine getting in the way. There is a neck strap that you can add, for windy days. The back is secured with a stretchy band that has a clasp and can be adjusted. I can put my hair up and still have sun protection. Just what I wanted!
