This is designed to be a car DVD player, but is so much more!

I don't have kids but I was happy to try this DVD player out for home use and think it would be a great addition to any home. This DVD player is very light and so it was easy to place anywhere. I used it in the kitchen while cooking, and in bed before going to sleep. It plays DVDs nicely, but it can also play off of a USB or memory card and has AV cables, it also has a game joystick, so while I have not used any of these other features, the DVD playing experience has been quite good. It has controls on both the device and through a remote, as well. I will continue to use this player and update my review as I go, but I do recommend it for use and I can see how helpful it would be for use in a car by passengers!

Seems fine

Received it yesterday and used it for 2 movies today. Picture quality is fine. Speakers are what you would expect out of a portable dvd player. If you are expectation movie theatre sound, then you need not but a portable system. Remote is fine. Did not come with battery for remote, which is fine just seems like now a days then send those cheap batteries with thing s like this. Have not tried the battery yet so don't know how long it will in fact use. I did a lot of searching for a portable system to replace my last one that broke last year. Looked at a refurbished one on ebay but decided on this new one. I am happy with it so far and would buy it again if the need aroused. If you want a little larger screen then you can try the same brand just the next model up.

Solid portable DVD/multi player - it's a keeper.

I've had this new model player for a little while now and have found it to be solidly constructed and able to play a disc without skipping a beat, even when subjected to movement, bumps, and vibrations while playing. Picture clarity and sound are both good for a portable player. It has successfully played both store-bought and home-burned DVDs. Battery life appears to be as advertised. Overall, this seems to be a nice portable unit at a fair price point. I like it.

Lite and compact with great picture

Lite and easy to use. Good battery length and pretty compact. Able to use my phone with this DVD player to replace my computer.

Black Friday Dvd player deal.

We needed one of these for road trips and to keep the kids occupied without straining the use on their PS4 for movies, rather than just games. Works great, sounds decent for the size. We hook up a small portable speaker for more volume and quality and it works just fine. So far, charges great and plays while charging. Arrives with some battery power stored, for testing. Clean and easy to use, comes with game controller, though you do have to download the games off the website and plug in the usb flash to the player to transfer the games. Not too difficult to accomplish. Dvd player remote control has lots of options, including subtitles, etc. Really happy with this purchase and the kids are happy too. Customer service on their website was fast, when I had questions about the video games to download. They seem to be open 24 hours and were very polite and helpful. Would recommend for the customer service in itself, as it was a live person! ;)

Worth it

Thank you! This is what I needed. My last dvd player was accidentally broken, when travelling on the road my granddaughter enjoy looking at movies. For the past year our trips has been long travelling. I love the color (red), the picture is sharp and clear and the price very affordable. My last dvd did not swivel, so that added to the touch. Yes, I approve and recommend.

This is worth the money

This DVD player worked like a beauty. The pictures don’t do it justice but it had an hd quality to it. It didn’t malfunction, voice quality was great, and it charged for as long as they said it would. So without being plugged in, it will work for 5 hours and then you’ll need to charge it again. I’m not going to lie, I was super skeptical, but it really did work out well. I was very inpressed

Good device, especially at its price point

I got the 9.5” over the 10.5” because of price, but having it in person confirmed I made the right call. The brushed finish will look cleaner for longer than the piano black of the 10.5”, especially if this is going in your backseat with your kids. In addition, it fits pretty well on my headrest as is. Lastly, it’s super light and I really like that. Came with everything pictured, although I’m still not sure what the video-game-esque remote is for haha. You’re gonna wanna make sure that you have a couple AAA batteries for the remote though, the remote makes it a lot easier to control it when the screen is folded back on itself (like it is pictured in the car in the gallery). Controls on the remote are more usable and intuitive than those on the device itself, so you might wanna use the remote anyway. Optical reader means you don’t have to worry about the disc getting scratched if you’re playing from a DVD. I was surprised when, after the power cable was pulled out and plugged back in, it picked right up where I left off, displaying “last memory”, super cool feature. It can also view media from an SD card or USB drive. Also important to note that what they call “phone” is basically your AV out, which you can plug into your TV. Would purchase again.

Solid basic player

Purchased this for two reasons: a. husband needed a DVD player that was portable so his class materials don't conflict with my shows and games in the same room and b. provide entertainment for car trips for our daughter. After setting it up and charging it as instructed, it proved to be easy to use; the included instructions are great and clear and that's sometimes 60% of whether a product is liked or not. Albeit the case is a little clunky, the controls are easy to use. The battery life very much lives up to the promise as well. It works well on car trips and around the house alike. Overall this is a really solid basic little dvd player that does as promised and in this time and age that's no small feat.

I purchased this item as a Secret Santa for a child I do not know. I wanted to register the item without opening the gift. I sent an e mail to DB Player and got a quick e mail in return. Here, I met Lee, that was my guiding star to help me . I am one of your older generation who is not to tech savy. Lee took me though the steps with out a hitch, problem solved. Lee was patient and kind. I would be happy to purchase another item from this company again.
