My 8-year-old son previously would only ride his bike (which had training wheels) when pressured to practice. Within 5 minutes of getting on this bike, he was begging to be taken to the park where we practice riding, and saying things like "I'm getting it!", "It feels like I'm flying!", and "I don't know who makes this bike, but they did a great job." He even spontaneously decided to start riding it to school every day. He's suddenly able to learn through trial-and-error at his own comfort level and pace, with lots of small successes early on and very low cost of failure. He fell onto his knee at one point and didn't cry or complain at all, which for him is excellent. My 7-year-old daughter, who recently transitioned away from training wheels, is also into this balance bike. She clearly gets value from being able to practice the leaning & steering aspects of life-without-training-wheels separately from the pedaling aspects. I realize I'm more reviewing the idea of balance bikes than this particular one, but I feel like "not screwing up" the execution is one of the understated signs of quality. This is a solid balance bike for older kids at a price point that felt reasonable. Notes: 1. The assembly instructions don't mention when to put on the plastic bolt covers. The covers need to go onto the handlebar post & seat post before they are inserted into their respective tubes. 2. A kickstand would've been nice, but has very little bearing on my kids' enjoyment.

Overall, an amazing product. It is low price, good quality, good looks and most importantly my 7 year old just loves it. After having such a bad experience with the training wheels I thought that my daughter will never like riding a bike. With training wheels she was terrified constantly and didn't really enjoy riding. But with bixe she simply loves riding! She can go for hours without getting tired and within a week or so she can now balance her self completely, even at low speed. Again amazing! The 2 reasons I consider reducing a star is 1) the seat which is way too firm and causes pain. I solved that by wrapping a spongy cloth around the original seat. And 2) there are no hand breaks which makes it much more frightening to bike at higher speeds. Other than those 2, it's perfect!

My guys are 5 and while they are able to ride regular pedal bikes, one always preferred his balance bike and did not want to move up to a "big boy bike" because he didn't want to give up his glider. They are about 42" tall and 45lbs and this bike is perfectly sized with room to grow thanks to the adjustable handlebar height and seat height. It was super simple to assemble as I only had to put on the front wheel and handlebars and it is super easy to adjust with the included allen key. It is incredibly lightweight especially compared to the equally sized pedal bike the other twin got at the same time yet it is equally as sturdy feeling. My guys really like that there is a place to put their feet when they coast and have had a blast on this bike every day both on the trails and in the neighborhood since it was opened. I highly recommend it if your child prefers the balance or glider style bike or is a bigger child learning to balance and ride, it's a great buy!

My son has a smaller version he's 2 and my daughter had a regular bike with training wheels. When we saw him ride his , we put hers with the training wheels in the shed and ordered this one (in purple and white). It took my daughter a few days (barely) but she got it and they zoom around together having a blast. She picks her feet up and rests them with ease and has built confidence in zero time flat. She will move on to a bike with pedals here next Summer or so and be a champ. Ditch what you have with training wheels and invest in this to get them up and balancing in no time flat. PS-get yourself some sneakers- I literally run with them both to keep up when we go on "walks"! Also, the company is VERY responsive, professional and helpful. Highly recommend product and this company! A+

My youngest is 7 and disabled. It's been tough finding a balance bike for older kids. This has been her favorite rolling toy since August.

Excellent product! I purchased this bike for my five-year-old daughter. She is a small 5 year old and it fits her really well with the seat in the smallest position. I really like that she can grow into it for years to come. The only thing that I would recommend the manufacturer do is to add an easy adjustment on the seat height because you have to unscrew it to adjust the seat. But other than that everything is excellent and it works really well! It is excellent quality also.

My 4.5 yr old is not quite ready to ride a pedal-bike, so we got him this balance bike in the age 5-9 size (16 inch wheels). He absolutely loves it! My boy is average size for 4.5 yrs, and the lowest seat level fits him fine, with lots of room to grow. My 9 year old boy could ride it, too. It rides smooth on the pavement because of the air-filled tires, and is easy to steer. He is pretty fast on it now, which makes bike rides with my three kids a little easier, since he can almost keep up with them at times. I put slime in the tires to avoid flats. The bike weighs so little, we can stash it on our double stroller if he gets tired and wants to ride in the stroller for awhile. The only problem we had was a bent pipe at the handlebar attachment point, which I had to use pliers to bend back so we could insert the handlebars. Kind of a bother, but not worth returning and waiting for a replacement.

My son is 47” and the seat can go a little higher. We borrowed a 12” balance bike from a friend when he was 3 and he learned to ride a bike within minutes at age 4. Balance bones are amazing!! He still hopped on his 12” balance bike at least once a day so we were very happy to find this larger version!!!! This is a must have for an older kid to learn better balance!!! Customer service is amazing and the quality is wonderful!!!! Six stars!

This is how we trained all our kids to ride bikes. It's low stress and a great way to build balance and stamina. Also, it's light enough my 5 year old daughter lifted it above her head yesterday and was so proud of herself. My wife just rolled down the driveway with it this morning laughing her head off. . It is incredibly light and strong. It also looks very nice and whereas her older sisters drop their bikes anywhere, she insists on bringing it in the shed every night to keep it nice. So happy we got this. I love the grip tape on the frame so her shoes don't slide off when she tucks her feet up as she coasts along. The plastic covers on the adjustment bolts should keep her from getting banged up too much and keep them from rusting out as they are prone to. We've gotten the wooden scoots before and they held up well but they were made of wood and couldn't withstand the rain. Very impressed.
