easy setup but issue with Foscam Pro Apps
Foscam Security Camera is easy setup if you have the patient related to how it is setup. It is not always easy but if you are familiar with the Foscam camera then setting it up is always a breeze. I returned this one as they shipped me R2E instead of the R2C. I stick with Foscam for all my security cameras as there are more things you can do with it such as sending all your captured pictures and recorded videos via ftp (never used sd card because 4 of my camera outside are mounted on the soffits) and for security reason this is how it should be. the 1st thing burglars going to do once they find out you have a camera is to destroy the camera itself, take out the sd card and look for you computer that stores the pictures/video files. with ftp on the cloud (not foscam, just subscribed to another service), your data is safe. There are issue with FoscamPro apps as it cannot see this remotely, as well as all of my poe foscam outside. Something got change and i do not what it is. Foscam apps is nice but does not support my other older foscam. the only that works for my old foscam and newer ones is the OWLR Foscam apps (and it's greate works perfectly). there are other security cameras out there that you just install, forget about it and not worry about port forwarding. but i do not trust those security cameras coz you never know what it is doing inside your home network...will probably replaced all of my old wireless foscam with this R2C because it's 1080p...

Very reliable camera with excellent customer support
This camera was the first of 3 that I have purchased for use inside our home. The cameras have worked very reliably and in the year I have had them I have contacted Foscam Customer Support several times. Most recently I received the annual renewal notice for my 3-day cloud account. They do offer a nice cloud service at a reasonable price and the app works well. However, one of the features I like best is that these cameras are ONVIF-compliant which means you can use an NVR or NVR software. In my case I use Ben Software SecuritySpy running on an iMac connected to a NAS. I just contacted Foscam support to not renew my cloud account for that reason and Tracy Xia quickly responded to my request to cancel the renewal. You can get more camera for more money, but this camera has worked very well for me.

Works as intended
We purchased this camera specifically to use to keep an eye on our dogs when we weren't home. This camera has worked exceedingly well. The set up: The set up of the camera was easy. Getting it added onto our Network at home as well as trying to get it added to the app was challenging. However, we were able to do so and haven't had issues since. Picture quality: The picture and sound quality are on point. The camera is able to detect sound or movement, and you can set up notifications on your phone through the app. The app/cloud/storage: The app has very poor reviews. There is only one app that works for the camera. The others are unable to detect a camera for you to continue. Cloud storage, I believe, is free for 8 hours, and after that you have to buy a plan that are rather pricey. We opted for a large capacity memory disk instead. Overall: It pans, it zooms, the sound is two-way. It works well for what we need it for.

Replaced An Old Foscam With This Beauty!
Ok. This is going to be short and sweet. I am using this camera in my Garage for video/audio surveillance and recording. I use Blue Iris and have for many years. My old Foscam I replaced still works after many years monitoring my Garage. However, I wanted a new and improved view with higher FPS. This camera is that camera. I use a wired connection so I did not mess around at all with the Android Ap. I simply mounted it, plugged in the LAN cable and applied power. That's it. It even talks to ya when it powers up and when it makes a connection. "Wired connection successful" or something like that. After that I accessed it on my Blue Iris software on my surveillance computer and two minutes later I was done. It's now monitoring my Garage in 1080P in a much wider view and overall picture than the older Foscam. The view is amazing. Crystal clear and such high resolution. Audio is great as well. I can hear lawn mowers running outside my Garage across the street with my Garage door closed. Anyway, that's it! Great camera for the price! To answer others: Yes, it has a Mount and it has a short LAN cable with it and of course it's own power supply. Very happy with this purchase. Will update if anything changes in the future.

Great cam for the price!
I've been trying to find a mid-range IP camera at a reasonable price for a month now. Mostly just to keep an eye on my kids and pets when I'm not around. I've tried units from three different brands here on Amazon: Wansview, SDETER, and ABAI. Never heard of any of these brands and now I know why. I returned each of them because, try as I might, they refused to recognize/connect with my WiFi network. All three were utter trash, and so they went back. I used the store credit from the last one I returned to put toward this Foscam unit. I'd actually heard of Foscam before and this particular model had a great overall review score, so I figured why not? Well, color me impressed. Setup is super easy: after establishing an initial connection with your router via Ethernet cable, you can disconnect it and it will link with your chosen WiFi network. All told, the setup process takes less than ten minutes. This process would fail each time with the first three cameras I tried, even though I followed the directions to the letter. It also helps that the directions for the Foscam are written in coherent English sentences. But I digress. The picture/video quality isn't the greatest, and I didn't expect much from a less than $60 unit. That said, it is more than satisfactory for my intended usage. The control app doesn't exactly have the best reviews in the Play Store (2.7 overall score!) but I find it to be user-friendly enough. The two-way audio feature is nice, too, but I don't plan on using it much. You have one of two choices for video storage: microSD card (up to 128 GB), or the Foscam cloud service. If you're like me and don't need a ton of video stored, go with a microSD card. They can be found on the cheap these days and the cloud service is ridiculously expensive. You do get a free trial of it (8 hours, I think) but it's not something I'm interested in. All in all, this is a solid IP cam for what it costs. Highly recommended if you just need something basic for home usage but don't want a cheap piece of crap from Wansview and such.

Nice High Res Camera at a Great Price.
All good. I am running a number of the 640x480 cameras and upgraded to this. Great image and sound. I was a bit worried that the cloud setup was the only way but it still has the manual method. I am using Blue Iris storing locally because I have my own cloud (we all do if we have a hard drive and a router) and want to remove an external point of failure (Arlo cameras just went down because their cloud failed). If your router or internet connection goes down, the cloud won't help and who knows what or who can get at the data if they get hacked. This will be mounted outside upside down on the ceiling of my covered porch to replace a 640x480 unit that seems to have failed after about 7 years of use. It gave good service in sever conditions (its an inside camera after all, and it may just be the power supply).

Big view angle. Easy to set up. Recommend.
I got this product in 3 days after placing order. I would like to recommend it to people who want to buy a security camera for family use. Especially for families with kids and pets. Firstly, the camera needs to connect with the router for the first time use using a cable, after that it can be connected by wifi. The initial setup is really easy. Secondly, the product works really well, the customer just needs to sign up in the “Foscam” app, and then you will see what the camera sees on your phone. You can speak through the app, if you want to put this camera in the kids room, this function is really helpful. And you can even take pictures and videos using the app. Thirdly, if you want to use this camera as a security camera, it also works well. I put it facing toward the door, and anytime when people move in front of the camera, I get a notification on my phone. It tells me the camera detected movement, and the time of detection. All in all, this is a quite nice camera and the functions are useful for family monitoring. Definitely recommend.

Great value and great support! Use a VPN :)
Let me start out by saying that internet-connected devices that stream home video by default give me pause. If you are able or know a techie to help you out, I recommend that you enable remote access to your cameras by 1. firewalling them off from the internet so they cannot "phone home" and 2. using a secure home VPN (most new routers have OpenVPN now). With this setup, you first VPN into your home, and then you can see the cameras. All that said, I've been using Foscams for years and these new R2C's are *very* nice. The picture is great, they recover from wifi drops really well, and I generally haven't had any problems with them. While I was flashing the latest firmware on one of my new cams, I accidentally bumped it and the power came loose. This, of course, bricked the camera. Totally my fault, but I contacted Foscam support and, to my delight, they were happy to ship me a replacement! Special shout out to Stephen from Foscam support -- great customer service!

Great experience with Foscam support ( Tracy Xia )
I have been purchasing Foscam cameras for several years now (probably 8+ years). I think i have about 26 foscam cameras now. I have been using forums and various other site for figuring out how to do more advance networking for these cameras. When I first stared with these cameras, I had not heard of IP forwarding. Now I feel like a pro at it. Well, that was until I purchased R2C since it had great price. I tried to setup R2C like other foscam cameras. It worked until I disconnected the network cable to hook it up to my hidden Wifi network (no SSID broadcast). It would not work. instead of searching forums for solution, for the first time ever, I decided to email foscam support. I explained the problem and also that firmware update would not work. I got replay from support within 5 min of sending email. Tracy asked some questions and ask for screen shot of my setting. I sent that and got reply again in 5 min to install new firmware. I explained again that firmware would not work because my foscam camera had strange driver combination. 10 min later I got another reply with what seemed like a custom firmware for me. I installed that and everything started working including hidden SSID. This was my first experience with Foscam Support and it was amazingly good experience. Tracy, though in china, had great understanding of English language and it seems like I was exchanging email with USA support person. My problem was solved in under 30 minutes and with 3 email exchanges. I thought it was worth mentioning it here and give Foscam support and especially Tracy Xia kudos on excellent support.

I love these and have 8 of them now
These 1080 HD cameras work great day and night. Very sharp picture and great control. Only thing is they don't work with the Amazon Show and Alexa without a 3rd party app running on a computer as a bridge. With the 8 of these I have we use Blue Iris software on our computer to collection all the cameras. Plus each camera holds its own micro SD card so you don't have to run any software if you don't want to. It is just easier to review video later on your computer with Blue Iris then to web into each camera and download videos from the SD card. And Alexa can control the Blue Iris software to turn on and off the motion recording on the computer running the Blue Iris. We also have one Amcrest camera for our front patio, which does work with Amazon Show/Alexa. And that camera also works with Blue Iris software. So our Blue Iris software collects all 9 camera feeds. We leave Blue Iris running on our main computer but keep it minimized on the task bar. Then when we leave the house we tell Alexa to turn on Blue Iris which sets the software to record all motion. Then when we return home we tell Alexa to turn off Blue Iris, because we don't need recording our every move at home. These Foscam Camera are allow you to set a start up location for the camera to point. You use PTZ function to set a point for scanning and then in the settings you set the power up location to the PTZ point you want the camera to go to after any power loss and reboot. The Amcrest cameras can do the same. I really like the small size of these Foscam Cameras. I even fit one in the window cell between the window and our inner wood shutters. The wireless works well if you only have a small number of cameras. This is true for all brands of wireless cameras. If you have tons of home devices on your 2.4G wireless network like we do, then it helps to hard wire some of these cameras on the network instead of all using wireless. Each camera can be hardwired or use wireless.
