I bought it half price - in the upper $20's - which makes me a legal thief.
I used the $99.00 version of this iron and dropped it after only a year. Had to buy a new one. Looked and looked, got depressed because the only comparable iron was (guess what) still $99.00 on sale for $79.00. Then like the discovery scene in a treasure hunt movie, I found this iron. Yes, I even heard the harp music. On sale - at that. I ordered it and used it. 1700 watts, electronic digital controls, perfectly weighted. I have ironed my own clothes for 55 years, because I can only wear cotton. That includes 100% cotton bed sheets. This thing is a dream and as good (and better if you throw in the price) as the more expensive one - so drop away.

Professional Quality, Does a Great Job
This iron is very heavy duty and does a great job on items that are ordinarily hard to iron, like dress shirts. It has a tapered nose so you can easily do cuffs and collars, and the soleplate is large so it takes fewer passes to do the job, It puts out a lot of steam! I actually found myself setting it to the lowest steam setting for some items.

I had not purchased an iron in about 5 years but my last iron was a Hamilton Beach. So I just purchased the updated version and I absolutely love it. It is the perfect weight and I love the digital selection of the type of material. It works well when making cuffs in the pants of my son that are a little long. Just an all around great iron.

We love this steam iron
We love this steam iron. We bought it for it's high reviews and this steam iron is living up to it's reputation. We love the different options that it comes in order to iron cotton, silk, rayon and so on. The steam bursts are perfect and we can literally iron a wrinkled shirt in a matter of minutes. One pass with a steam burst and that section of the shirt of ironed. No need to go back to pass it again. The iron is sturdy and well built. We'll be buying a second one soon for our son.

Used to Rowenta - this beats it hands down!!
I can't say enough good things about this iron. I have used Rowenta's forever, but when visiting my sister I had to use her Hamilton Beach iron and was shocked at how much better hers worked. I have not found anything about this iron I do not like. Heats up VERY quickly and does a beautiful job.

But I absolutely love this iron and how fast it heats up
Had to get another that I lost during transition of moving. But I absolutely love this iron and how fast it heats up. The retractable cord never bothered me being slightly off to the side of the iron; think that's just personal preference. But I had my previous iron (same as this one) for a few years and never had it leak. The steam feature is awesome and lets out plenty in one press of the button and hold it's water volume very well. This iron is definitely a little bulkier than the average iron, which is something to consider if you have some sort of holder for your iron. I have mine stored on a wall mount and it fits just fine. I'd definitely recommend this one. Great iron and overall quality for the price.

Great iron at a reasonable price
I love this iron - if that possible. Having the retractable electric cord is a great feature and the controls are easy to see. The control lights brinks red while the iron is heating up to the right temperature; then turns green when the the heat setting is correct. The weight and the balance of the iron helps with moving across the fabric and doesn't require extra passes across the fabric. It is easy to fill with water and to see the amount of water in the iron. The self-cleaning is nice.

Its a well kept secret that Durathon irons are the best at the best price. The 1700 and digital makes this a no-brainer.
I have always bought the Durathon iron by Hamilton Beach due to its superior NON-STICK soleplate. My only complaint was the low wattage (1500). This new and improved digital version at 1700 watts makes this the BEST iron on the market at one of the lowest price you'll ever find (Approx $34). This iron heats up extremely quick, gets VERY hot (1700 watt), produces mega steam and of course the soleplate easily wipes clean with a damp towel or a plastic scrubby sponge (if you forget to wipe off the starch after each use and it ends up getting burnt on). Also to note, the self cleaning button actually works. As its heating up from cold, just slightly overfill the water tank, tilt the tip of the iron downward in the sink, and let it rip. All the burnt up starch will loosen as the brown water drips out of all the steam holes. You really have to get this iron to experience its features. Face it, all irons today don't last more than 1 or 2 year (or less), so why spend a ton of money on those pricey irons? At Durathon's low price, you can afford to get 2 or three, so any of leakage or electrical problems are no longer an issue, as you just change it out with a new one.

The best iron !
Full steam iron ! Makes ironing a breeze, Uses tap water and has a non stick plate . I recently purchased a steam iron at a trade show And thought it would eliminate the drudgery of ironing ( not ) . After regretting that purchase I looked on line and found this wonderful iron. This iron will glide you through the drudgery of ironing. I am able to press steam heavy wrinkled clothing as well as delicate. The non stick plate with a full steam pattern allows you to press with out a shine . I would highly recommend this iron , and at such a bargain price .

Great Iron, Great price.
This iron puts out loads of steam while ironing, without having to press the 'burst of steam" button. The iron is light, balanced and does a great job. I like the retractable cord too.My only complaint is that the angle of the fill hole causes at least a few drops of water to spill outside the iron. All of this, and one of the lowest prices of irons on Amazon, makes this a terrific buy.
