Great bag
I was planning 12 days in Italy and wanted to do it with one carry-on. I did some research and this bag looked like it might be the answer so I purchased it. What a great decision on my part. This bag is outstanding. You can pack a lot in it and it has outside pockets for the stuff you need to have fast access. It is the perfect size to fit in and out of various plane's overheads. (I flew four different air frames and the bag was a winner both in and out.) It handles incredibly well. Spinners are great. Handle is the boss. Highly recommend.

A great bag with a few quirks
My back isn’t what it used to be and after a recent trip through Europe I decided it was time to replace my very sturdy Eagle Creek two-wheeled luggage with something four-wheeled. My Eagle Creek luggage was a significant investment for me and remains in near perfect shape after several years but this time around I was looking for something less utilitarian. I purchased the espresso color and it is a deep, rich brown but not quite as dark as espresso, which usually strikes me as almost black. I was delighted with this suitcase right out of the box. It’s light, even lighter than my Eagle Creek, which was a huge improvement over other luggage at the time. The large pocket on the front of the bag opens up folder style just as it should, since I typically rummage through it while I’m standing at the airport or hotel lobby. It spins and moves like a dream, if that isn’t obvious. The hardware is well integrated into the design; with the deep color and leather trim, this is a formal looking suitcase. The interior is both thoughtful and attractive. This is a bag I will check. I’m not short (5’6”) but I personally would not want work to shove this into a crowded overhead compartment in economy; nor would it have been allowed as a carry-on on my recent trip to London on New Zealand Air, it weighs too much. I’ve got a smaller 16-inch spinner for carry-on and short trips. I’m a light packer, this is the bag I will use for five- to seven-day trips, longer with laundry access. I won’t be using the charging port. I can see it being useful for international flights where you are not sure you will find an outlet to fit your charger. Frequent flyers using economy with tight connections might find it valuable; that is a situation where outlet access can be limited. The pocket is in a handy location on the top side panel of the bag so I’ll definitely find a use for it. The attached toiletries bag is really nice but I’m not sure how practical it is as you have to fully unzip the bag to get at it, which means it needs to be on the table or floor. Where will I do this? In a fast moving security line? As I approach the conveyor belt? I’d be more likely to keep mine in the front pocket until after security and then stow it in the bag when I have access to a table or bench. The interior doesn’t fit my existing packing cubes, which I believe to be standard. The 17-inch large won’t zip into the pocket on the top inside of the bag and the medium to small cubes don’t seem to fit well. I don’t normally use the large bag outside of lengthy trips so I can work around it. My garment folder fits perfectly and is what I use most for work trips. I’ll figure out organizing with the smaller bags as I go along. The small mesh pockets on the top of the tie down may seem a little oddly sized (small and thin) but I always travel with some odds and ends that can’t all be tossed into one bag/cube so they are going to be very useful to me. All in all, different than the layout I’m used to but it’s going to be a wonderful travel companion.

High quality/durability, and functional design
I purchased this carry-on luggage to replace an older hard-shell suitcase. I specifically looked for soft-shell, or fabric, suitcases, due to the damage that traveling on airplanes had caused to my hard-shell luggage. This Travelpro 21" carry-on is perfectly suited for this type of travel. It is designed from fabric which is durable enough for any travel, and has a well-designed and constructed interior wall support system. As a bonus, the luggage is very appropriate for style conscious business travelers such as myself. The wheels are multi-directional, which means the luggage can be pulled behind on two wheels, or rolled alongside with four wheels. The handle completely collapses into the frame of the luggage when being stored. The handle mechanism allows the handle to easily be extended or collapsed with no extra "fiddling," and there are multiple lengths at which the handle can be locked, for various heights of users. The interior of the bag is well designed, with an interior lining that can be unzipped to access the interior frame of the suitcase, or to store particular items within the suitcase itself for more secure travel. For example, I place a copy of my passport and a small amount of cash within the lining of the suitcase when traveling internationally. Inside the suitcase itself, the manufacturer has thoughtfully included a foldable garment bag for jackets or other items. There is also a "wet bag" for toiletries or medicines that can be zipped into the bag itself, or removed easily for storage in a bathroom vanity at your hotel, AirBnB, or guest quarters. The interior of the luggage lid contains a large zipper pocket perfect for storing delicate clothing, papers, or other small items. And finally, there is a handy USB/battery bank access port on the outside of the luggage for charging phones, iPads or laptops while waiting at the airport. This purchase does not come with a battery bank itself, so that will be an additional purchase which you can then pack in your bag and access from the exterior port. Overall this is a very high quality piece of luggage/baggage, which is what I expected with the brand name and price point. I would purchase this item again, and will likely remain a customer of the brand for years to come.

Brilliant workhorse renaissance suitcase
As advertised, this suitcase is a baller. Long trips, short trips, carry-on and road trips — it does it all with aplomb. Internal organization is logical and useful with space for a couple weeks. I don’t find the charging system particularly helpful since I’d charge either sitting in the airport next to an outlet or on the plane where my suitcase is in the overhead. The thing seems durable. I’ve taken it on a few trips and across terrain not intended in its design and it continues to roll smoothly. Couldn’t be happier, really, unless it somehow had an external bottle holder.

Beautiful, lots of useful spaces
Beautiful bag, and definitely built for travelers. Lots of useful compartments/zippers/cinches. My first spinner bag, and it's changed my life! Easy to stack items on top, wheels appear to be sturdy. I used it on my most recent travel (half work, half visiting family), and was able to comfortably pack for a week's worth of travel, and be prepared for two completely different climates (Midwestern cold and Florida heat). The bottom/back does make you lose a bit of space due to where & how deep the handle storage/rack is. If you're able to fold things small and fit them in between the track, it's fine. If you have larger, non-bendable items, it can make an impact on what you can fit.

Very Happy with this TravelPro Platinum suitcase
I bought this to replace a TJ Maxx CalPac that wasn't quite up to a three week overseas trip with several legs (though CalPak did send me replacement parts free of charge). This TravelPro Platinum Elite 21" Expandable Carry-on Spinner went to London, as a carry on which didn't get a second glance during boarding even though I'd overstuffed it a bit on the return trip (souvenirs, ya know) and it was technically a bit "fat" sizewise. The wheels roll amazingly well, handling London sidewalks, the tube with train changes and escalators where I used the telescoping handle to lift and maneuver a bit more than I probably should since I had my husband's duffel sitting on top and attached to the telescoping handle (so couldn't get to the lifting handle to use it). The included clothes bag fit in the luggage well and helped keep those clothes neat. Sizewise, it took careful packing to get a week's worth of fall clothing in, but it did work. This bag feels very durable and should be good for the long haul and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

About As Good As It Gets
I travel a lot. I'm always looking for the grail, the perfect suitcase. This is very, very close. It looks great. The ballistic nylon with the brown leather trim is gorgeous. Even the zipper pulls, with a stylish twist in the design, are eye catching. There is a side pocket for a charger, and a cable to connect it to an external USB. I love this in the airport. I can sit and charge a device without fumbling in my briefcase. The pocket is capacious, holding all buy the largest chargers. "Capacious" is indeed the word for this suitcase. Or "Roomy." Two front pockets are each surprisingly deep. A pocket behind them--double-zippered, is even larger. Another zipper is also on the outside. Unzip it and the suitcase expands at the bottom. The interior has tie-downs to secure your load with two small, built-in pockets on the sides, one for toiletries. A mesh pocket encompassing the entire inside of the top is versatile, whether you are securing a pair of shoes, socks, undies, it is plenty big. Leather handles on top and side are sturdy and good-looking. And, on the bottom is a "cup" which serves as another handle if needed. The limited lifetime warranty is a huge plus. Life in the air is hard on suitcases. So, "Almost perfect?" Yes, the one thing lacking is the handle slides are on the inside. Briggs and Riley mounts theirs on the outside for a flat interior. One...well let's don't call it a flaw. B&R has some problems of their own. The removable suiter in the Travelpro is great. The spinner wheels are the finest I've ever spun through an airport. Travelpro is a superior brand. I began flying with my brother in 1964 when he became an airline pilot and I was a wee lad. I don't remember all of his bags over the years, but he was proudest of his Travelpro. Highly Recommended.

Worth every penny for a road warrior
Got this suitcase towards the end of last year and have managed to put 50k miles on it already. After living out of it every week for five months, I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it, and blown away considering the price point it comes in at vs. its nearest competitor. This suitcase is fairly lightweight, very roomy (as long as you take advantage of the compression straps), decently flexible, and it rolls almost a little too well--I have to keep my hand on it or it will roll away on inclined floors. It's actually quite nice, I can give it a little push on a tiled airport floor and it will go on its own for long enough to switch hands, take off a coat, etc. The compression system in this case is decent--not as nice as its far more expensive Briggs and Riley competitor, but still very good. The biggest complaint I have is that the compression straps have no pull-tabs, so when you have the suitcase packed totally full and you're trying to get the compression strap started it's difficult to get that initial grip. I actually wove a pair of flexible steel wire keychains through the straps, one on each strap, to make my own wire pull-tabs, and it works much better now. I would also prefer if the large outside pocket was divided into a top and bottom pocket instead of one large pocket, just for the sake of better organization--but it works fine, it just ends up a little messy. The expansion capability of the suitcase works well and gives enough extra room for over a week's worth of clothing--but it also unbalances the bag and it tips over a lot with the expansion unzipped, which isn't a problem at all normally. Overall I'm a big fan, especially at its price point. For people doing real travel, or for the occasional traveler who wants a much more pleasant bag experience, it's worth every penny.

Rolls beautifully and has lots of handy organizers
I decided to buy this because I started traveling regularly enough for work. My boyfriend has used this on several occasions and I used it recently as well and we both love it. I was amazed at how quietly it rolls compared to my old luggage, which is nice considering I sometimes leave early in the morning and have neighbors living below me. The multi-directional wheels mean I don't have to carry the weight of the luggage while I'm rolling it around. I also love the organizers and straps inside -- they make packing a lot easier.I had no idea it came with a garment storage bag too. Fits great in overheard storage. Looks super classy, and the warranty is pretty sweet. Just make sure to register for it.

Travelpro Platinum Elite 21” - Is it Carry-On Size?
Travel-Pro claims that the suitcase is 23" tall. I measured it, and they are correct. It is 23"tall. They have a short animated video on Amazon showing this suitcase fitting into an airline test box that is clearly marked as 22". How do you fit a 23" suitcase into a 22" box? The numbers didn't add up to me, so I went to my local airport (Orlando - MCO). I usually fly United, so I went to their check-in area to find "the box". As you can see from my picture, it fits! How is this possible? I brought a tape measure and measured the box, and despite the labels, it was actually 23" long. Some notes: The other dimensions (14" and 9") on the box were correct, so your suitcase cannot be wider than 14" or deeper than 9". If you stuff the front pockets of the suitcase, it not fit anymore because it will be deeper than 9". I only tested one box from one airline. Your mileage may vary.
