Awesome sprayer

I purchased this for my mother as she is a DIY-er constantly rehabbing apartments to remodeling her house herself and taking on various projects . She loves the performance and the “weight “of this vs. pneumatic or battery operated sprayers.

One of the Best Purchases I've Ever Made!

We built a garden cottage in our back yard, and it was time to paint it. My son spent an hour-and-a-half just painting under the eaves on one side of the cottage using a paint brush. This was going to take forever! I decided to buy this spray gun, and it is seriously one of the best purchases I've ever made! What took my son an hour-and-a-half with a brush, my husband did in less than 10 minutes with this spray gun! We had never used a spray gun before, so I was worried that it wouldn't work right, or we wouldn't know what to do, or we would mess it up, or a million other things. I chose this particular gun after comparing all the reviews, and not wanting to spend a ton of money, but still having a decent gun, and having it delivered the next day for free. The instructions are a bit confusing, but I just used common sense and figured things out. A very important thing to do is to make sure that you filter your paint before pouring it into the spray container. I bought a paint filter (it's just some mesh) from the hardware store and poured the paint through it into the container. If you don't filter your paint, you will end up with a clog which will cause the gun to spit and sputter. Also, make sure that your paint is the right consistency. Our paint was Behr Paint & Primer (from Home Depot) and it was very thick. The container for the gun holds about a quart of paint. In a separate container, I poured in 1/3 cup of water, then about a quart of paint. I stirred, stirred, stirred, until it was mixed super well. Then I poured the thinned mixture through the filter into the gun container. It took a few practice strokes to get the feel of the gun as I began spraying the paint onto the cottage, and I had to figure out how fast I should move, and how close to the wall I needed to be, but after we experimented, we figured it all out and we made super fast progress. There wasn't very much over-spray, which I was happy about. We painted all the walls (about 600 sq feet of vertical walls) and under the eaves (about 75 feet) with the gun, using about 3 gallons of paint onto bare siding. The gun worked perfectly. In fact, my husband tilted the gun in all directions, even practically upside down at times while doing underneath the eaves, and I was surprised that the gun still worked! Then we built some shutters and used the gun to spray the shutters a different color than the cottage. After we were done painting each time, I took everything apart, and cleaned everything really well. The handle and the motor are one unit, which pulls off of the front part (which is the container and the nozzle). When you're ready to clean the gun, pull off the handle/motor and set that aside. It's the front part that you will be taking apart and washing. There's a little cleaning brush included to help get in the small areas. I have my own cleaning brush that I used also. I've really had a great experience using this spray gun! I wish I would have gotten it years ago! I was thinking about all the things we have painted with a brush and roller, when we could have been using this spray gun! Now we want to repaint our actual house! With this gun it will be a breeze!

The secret to success is in the prepartion

I have never used one before. I followed the directions exactly, diluated the latex paint using the funnel time instructions and used the micron funnel filters to strain clumps. I draped EVERYTHING in the room and I had zero problems. The prep is where the time is and if you don't do it you'll regret it. Everything went on smooth, saved so much time, and the overspray wasn't as bad as i feared. Loveeee this purchase

Saved me hours on a project!!!

I used this product to finish the inside front porch to my home. This project was very tideous and strenuous. However, after I purchasing this spray gun it made my life much easier. I mean, I trullllly love this product. Number 1) it’s fun to use. Number 2) it’s effective. Number 3) saves you sooo much time. There are 3 different setting on this product which allows the paint to spray in different directions (horizontal, vertical, circular) & also an adjustment knob for the pressure. Personally, I believe this product is worth buying for the price, it’s great quality. Initially I did have to email the company because the little canister that holds the paint was closed to tightly. Either the paint dried or I put it on too tight. However, the company was very gracious towards me and sent me a brand new one for free, without exchange. I was lost for words!!! I absolutely recommend this product, it applies paint flawlessly and saves you so much time!!

Excellent

No stipple and no brush marks! First the overspray doesn't flow past 1-2 feet, I painted an accent wall without covering furniture in the room 12x15 feet. There was a powdery dust that was easy to sweep off the hardwood floors. I did not need to thin the latex interior satin paint, I did need to turn the flow control up to increase up the output. After a few minutes, the trailing extension cord adds to the weight, hang the cord off your shoulder or something. Easy disassembly of the nozzle and container a small toilet bowl brush helps. The motor seems to get a little hot, I painted for several hours without any heat related problems. Great product, I can't wait to get home to paint more stuff, after the accent wall I was able to paint a Pergola with multiple surface areas in less than an hour, much quicker than an automatic roller.

Wish it had a longer cord

This spray gun has three modes and they are pretty good for medium to large size home projects. Definitely will save us time for painting! But it’s also heavier then we expected. Also the cord isn’t very long so it’s kinda inconvenient. Wish they could have a cordless version or longer cord!

LIFE SAVER! Best Purchase Ever!

For years, the fence at my mother's house was 1/2 painted in varying colors. The fence is old and dilapidated, and we didn't ant to put much money into paint, because we want to replace it with vinyl, but, the neighbors don't want vinyl - so, a temporary fix. My daughter and I painted for about 3 hours one day, and only got about 10 feet of fence completed, and that took a full gallon of paint. Since I only had a few days in town, I decided to try a paint sprayer. This one worked wonderfully! The paint was latex. I strained it and thinned it, and I did not have a single problem - even as a first timer with a paint sprayer! With help from my daughter to manage the cord and help with refilling the paint cup, we managed the whole fence (and re-did part of what we had already done) in just about the same amount of time we'd spent on 10 feet, previously! My arms were sore, and I was tired when we got done, but the fence looks great (About 150 feet, in all. Just painted one side.) I used less than 2 gallons of paint to do all the spraying, and the sprayer did a better job than rollers or paint brushes on the old wood. I couldn't be happier. For the first time in about 10 years, the whole fence is the same color!

Great for the price

Very nice gun for the price, I just painted my fence. And the results are great. Take me like 2 hours to paint my fence on both sides,one side of my house. So far very good spry gun.

Cost efficient Basic Sprayer that Works

Sure beats the heck out of using a brush for stain. Sprayed a woodshed and the new lattice on the bottom of my deck. Works very nice for the price point, and cleanup was easy.
