Great in the car!
We use this in the car. We attached it to the head rest and our baby loves it. She's 8 months now and enjoys turning it on and off with her foot! The remote makes it a game between her and I. Makes errand runs and traveling to see family a whole lot better with her distracted.

Best white noise ever
Puts my baby right to sleep and also a great stepping stool for baby apparently. It's an amazing white noise and very soothing. All of my nieces and nephews had one so I knew when we started sleep training that I would be getting one for my first baby. He was 6 months old when I got it and learned very quickly how to push the button himself when he woke up in the middle of the night. Hes 9 months now and has gotten very creative with its use.

Kids love them and they last a long time!
I bought one of these four years ago for my first grandchild. He still loves it enough to have it hanging on his bed. I had to get another for the new grandchild, because he loves his brothers aquarium. It has different features than the first one, so that makes it even nicer! These are awesome for kids that fight to go to sleep, they are relaxing and interesting for them to watch. I highly recommend this product!

Not necessarily a "must have" but a great baby product overall
Love love love the baby einstein products, and this one didn't disappoint. Our baby was mesmerized by this under water scene and eventually "turtle" ended up being one of their first words on account of the turtle appearing to be a mascot on almost every product. This product ultimately achieved right what it says in the title for us, it helped our little one be comfortable in their crib, and soothed them as we transitioned from bassinet in our room to the nursery. For us personally, no lights with just the ocean sounds seemed to do the trick, and it's genius that as it nears the end of it's ten minute interval, the volume just slowly fades away. As they got older, the light and music functionality became great for before or after naptime to allow them to just be comfortable staying in their crib for "quiet time." The main annoyance with this product is the C batteries that this thing seems to have the appetite of a bear for. MY GOD THIS THING EATS BATTERIES! This is where the remote greatly comes in handy, because if you happen to be monitoring your little one & you see they've passed out well before the music interval is up, you can sneak right into their room and click this sucker off to try and salvage a few more hours of battery life out of it. Another pro tip on this item - if anyone you know has a registry through anywhere other than Amazon, don't buy it from the other infamous baby stores - it's like $15 more right off the bat. My cousin recently had a shower and I ordered this through Amazon warehouse (there was the smallest cosmetic damage to the exterior of the box, but the crib soother itself was still sealed NIB) and it only cost $19. I simply called the store for where she had registered and asked them to remove the item from her registry because I had purchased it elsewhere. This allowed me to purchase additional items and still stay in budget! Overall cute product, and great gift ;)

we asked our 3 year old if they would like a new one or a different toy they have ...
This is our second one, the first one lasted for 3 years of daily use. When the motor finally died, we asked our 3 year old if they would like a new one or a different toy they have been bugging us about. Guess what they chose. We will be purchasing another one for our youngest since they will not inherit this one. The new ones are slightly different from the older ones. The music is better and the LEDs seem better. I would call all the changes I have seen an improvement. One thing to note, there is a little rubber o-ring on the inside that connects the motor to the drive shaft for the animals that move. If you hear the motor running and the animals don't move, that is most likely the issue. I replaced 3 or 4 of the little o-rings over the last 4 years for a fraction of the price.

Great product, very effective soother.
My five month old boy always cries before sleeping. Now I just let him watch his little aquarium for a few minutes and he calms down enough to nurse and fall asleep in 5 minutes. The aquarium has a soothing blue light, four really cute and colorful sea creatures which move differently, the light effects has a very realistic liquid illusion that captivated my son. The music is classic and very soothing. I have two critical comments. The backstrap is not long enough to wrap around our crib railing because the top plank is thicker on our crib so we just have it sitting on a side of the crib directly on the mattress. This is ok now because my son cannot turn over yet. In future we might have to just extend the strap somehow. The remote, although useful to turn off the unit, can only be used to turn the aquarium on right after it was turned off but not all the time. I would have liked a remote that could be used to turn off and on anytime and also with a crib light only button.

Wish I got it from day 1!
This thing is honestly a miracle. She was getting to that stage where she wanted something to look at and the night lights I had that put a picture on the ceiling are boring and hard to see. So I got this, and not only does it have a blue light that shimmers in her crib (a bit on ceiling too somehow) but the animals all move around, it has soothing ocean sounds she falls asleep too, and the music is nice and soft so if I have to wake her up I'll use the music but it's soothing enough for baby to sleep to on the lower volume option. It has a button for you to just turn the light on if you want to check on them and a remote to turn it on/off for any reason, I would've probably used that option when she was a newborn but I use it rarely since she's mobile and turns it on/off with the bottom star button.. a lot! It's an awesome soother and I don't wish I bought a different one at all. Matter fact, she fell asleep within 5 minutes tonight just watching her soother. I suggest any parents of a baby get one. Love it! Edit: I see some people complain about the battery life and the low-batt light. I think it may be an issue with higher end batteries (for some reason) I've noticed that when I use the cheap ones, that it runs for at the least (lots of nights of not sleeping right away due to bottle wean, so lots of on-time) and 2 weeks otherwise, when the low-batt light comes on, I've run the batteries down up to a week after that light came on but like I said, I feel I get a lot of use due to playing around with what batteries worked best. It does have lights, sounds, and movement that your baby is turning on and off constantly with a run time of 20 mins, so it's not too bad to pay 5$ for a pack of batteries even if it's just one week of use if baby sleeps better. I'd pay 5$ a day if I had to! But I get 2-3 weeks out of each set of batteries. Figured I'd add that.

BABY WAKING UP & CAN'T "SELF SOOTHE"? Try around 12+ Months
We just resigned ourselves to accepting that our second will at times need to be held and rocked back to sleep. Unfortunately we got spoiled by our first who slept soundly from day one. We would go into maybe several weeks long "phases" when our daughter would get up 4am or 5am and will just scream and scream. We live in an apartment and she just started sharing a room with her older sister. So one of us would rush in and hold her standing up, bouncing for eternity until she calmed down again. In desperation I bought this after having researched every single sleep aid on Amazon. I probably bought $400+ in products related to "self soothing" and "sleep-aiding" since she was a 3-4months old (I mean everything from several different types and brands of sleep blankets, swaddles, pacifiers, soothing toys with/without sounds, lights - you name it I have it all.) Around a year we decided to give this Baby Einstein sea dreams a shot after realizing she would go back to sleep at 4:30-5:30am until 7-7:30am if she wasn't bored and screamed from someone to help her fall back asleep. But around this age she just became stimulated by seeing us rushing in and would prefer to pick up one of her books in her crib. Of course she would get frustrated and scream from not being able to see the book in the dark. Day one. We attach this to her crib and watch her on the wi-fi monitor. She stands up and turns it on,sit back and watches the floating sea creatures (we have it set on with music, light and movement option). Few minutes later she lays her head down and goes to sleep. We are hoping she would do the same thing at 4:30am!!! That morning she got up as predicted at that god awful hour and she stood up, punched the button on, stared at the toy and to our amazement, turned it off once she got sleepy and went back to sleep. We've had this for about 3 months now and she is still using it to happily "self soothe". She is going on 16 months. CONS: Battery life is short. It CAN be stimulating for some babies especially much younger ones. But there are settings for varying options. Big sister initially got jealous and she would at random intervals reach up to play with it whilst little one slept.

Must have for kiddos
Love this product. The songs playlist is really great. My son loves it, I talk with him about the animals it has and the colors, great learning tool. Just an overall great product. My son loves having this in his crib, he now knows how to turn it on by himself. It clips to the crib really well and has never fallen. Batteries last for a good three months. We use Duracell brand. It has 4 settings 1. Sound of the waves with no lights and the animals do no move 2.sound of waves with lights and animals move 3.just music, animals do not move and no lights 4. Music with lights and animals move I also like that after 10minutes the volume gets lower until it eventually turns off by itself.

Baby loves it! All the benefits of a real aquarium without the maintenance
