Great product, Works like a charm

I have had this for a week and the hub works great. The lighting is helpful to know which port is active. Every port worked just great. It would be nice if the lights had a dim options. I like the lights but in the dark they can be too bright. It would be nice to have a option to have a lower lighting option.

Here are the "good" and "bad" on this product. . . ADVANTAGES . 1. FEATURES: The two-part power cord is long. The unit is compact with individual lights and ON/OFF switches for each of the 10 USB ports. The 11th port on the end has no light or ON/OFF switch. . 2. QUALITY: The product had the highest user reviews among powered USB 3.0 hubs. On May 17, 2019, it had a 4.5 rating among 51 users. The manufacturer warranted the unit for 18 months. Six more are added if the buyer submitted a purchase code. . 3. PERFORMANCE: I tested the product by transferring 237.39 GBs of small files between external hard drives. Almost all were MP3 and PDF. The reading/writing rate bounced between 11 to 597 mb/s. Almost all of the sustained activity was in the 114-285 mb/s range. . 4. PRICE: The unit cost $27 during a 10-hour "lighting sale" and after submitting a 5% discount coupon. That was the lowest price for all USB 3.0 powered hubs on the Amazon website. For a seven-port unit with four charging ports, it was a steal. . . DISADVANTAGES . 1. There is not enough power for charging four USB devices. There are 4A total. So, each fully occupied slot gets 1A. . Most USB devices require 1.1A or 2.4A for fast charging. When the required power is not available, some shut down. So just doing the math, only three 1.1A or a 2.4A with an accompanying 1.1A USB device will be charged. The fourth port is totally useless. . 2. The shell is enclosed in plastic - not aluminum.

Exactly what I needed

This USB hub worked great. Other hubs I purchased and returned did not allow my computer to recognize an external USB SSD. This has worked with everything I've tried on it. I really like the individual switched USB ports. I would highly recommend.

Sturdy

I haven't run any performance tests, so I can't comment on that aspect as yet. No connectivity issues or problems reading and writing from drives. As far as construction and functionality, this is a solid hub. It has 7 USB 3.0 ports and 4 charging ports. All of the USB and 3 of the charging ports are switched, with an always-on charging port on the end. The switch/buttons have a 2-second hold to turn off, which I think is smart. It might be nice if there was a master switch for all of the ports, but it's not a deal breaker. The cables are beefy and the supplied power brick has a detached AC cable which is a lot more convenient than the "wall wart" type. The body of the unit appears to be metal with a high-gloss coating. My only complaint is that the rubber feet on the bottom are so thin that they don't contact with anything, thus the unit can slide around. You can see in the photos how thin they are that they aren't functional as feet. Either put thicker feet on the bottom or have a rubberized body, which I think would look better than the high-gloss coating, which shows smudges and fingerprints easily. The price is pretty competitive with similar offerings on Amazon.

Great for family trips

This is another review in a series I am doing for items purchased to make a long road trip with a family of 5 easier. This data/charging hub was fantastic. I have already recommended it to the other families traveling with us. Instead of 5 people, each with devices, Bluetooth headphones, etc, all fighting over the charging bases, we used this beauty. It also looks cool with the lights. I have not yet used it for data transfer, just charging but it looks like a solid piece of equipment so it should work well for that too.

Really fast charging because it plugs in to an outlet

I love this USB hub. Granted it does require an electrical outlet, but it doesn't heat up like my last one, charges everything fast and compared to the one I had before all of the connections work. Have had for couple months. Very satisfied.

Omg, Purrr-fckin-fect !!!

This product is perfect for me! I work on a loptop with monitors, mouse, yeti microphone, keyboards, external hdd, drawing tablet, phone tethering & usb headset connected. Incase you guys don't know, my gaming loptop only has about 3 usb connectors and that simply doesnt suffice anymore. With this product not only I can now plug everything in one corner and fix my cable management issues, I do not even need to unplug my things when I dont have it connected!!! This product has a genius power button on each side of the usb plug, all I have to do is hold on power and it will turn off that plug and disable my connection! Magic. Not only this product is perfect for me, it works!! On top of that you can even plug this on an outlet as a massive phone charger extension! I have brothers and we all have phone, sometimes our phone dies and there's simply not enough outlet in a corner! This definitely fix that. woopee. Product came on a neat packaging, its a box inside a plastic wrapper thingy. Safe, simple and secure. Im really happy I found this! Massive thanks to the amazing sellers!
