This is a dissection microscope. It is meant to look at the surface not through the subject. It is really cool to see the images when the microscope is connected to a tablet. The images are good enough for common light duty field work, not publication grade. The lighting is very good and even and with good color rendition. Patience is required to get the scope and subject set up. The zoom/focus thumb wheel is a bit tight so small adjustments are awkward. But to have a scope in your bag that will render acceptable images for the price of this unit is a good thing. I am happy with my purchase. Addendum: I have used this microscope more than I expected. I just inspected a USB micro connector down into the base. Hmmm. Now to figure out how to clean in there...

I did not expect to receive a microscope that was as great as this one in both picture quality and craftsmanship. It is easy to use and adjust and works great with my Google pixel 3XL which is an Android operating system. I've also used it with my MacBook and have had no issues. Getting it to focus on an object is easy and then you have this beautiful blown up magnified image of whatever you're looking at. I like the setup and how it sits on a stand with a base for the object but you can also look at bigger things if needed. I would buy this again and again and recommend it to anyone in the market for this type of microscope.

I assumed this product connected via bluetooth, even though the instructions clearly said wifi. When i read them they clearly said wifi, but I thought no, they must mean bluetooth because that would be more logical, and English is probably not their first language. When I could not get the device to connect, I emailed the company, and they replied immediately, asking for more information. It then occurred to me that maybe I should read the instructions more carefully, which I did, and the device connected immediately. I am very happy with the quality of the product, and even more so with the quality of the assistance provided by the maker.

When I opened the box I thought it was another cheap gadget, but then I was amazed. First, it's was very easy to connect wirelessly with my iPhone and iPad with its application and also it works with the computer with wire and photobooth app on my Mac. The magnification is quite incredible, hair becomes like spaghetti and tip of a pencil look like a tree log. The microscope has a focus wheel, but if you want bigger magnification you can move the object closer and refocus with the focus wheel, so it works like a zoom too. It says 50X-1000X.. I doubt it's really 1000X but still make things very big! It comes with a little stand which make easy to view things without much vibration and it has adjustable LED light intensity. I must say this is a fun and interesting buy!

How cool is this little thing!? Picked it up for my elementary aged kiddos, who are growing more and more interested in STEM topics. I thought it would be something to keep them busy and off of their video games and boy, was I right. You download an app directly to your phone (we are iOS users) and viola, your magnification is right there to be observed. The details are honestly better than I expected and we’ve had a lot of family fun “microscoping” different objects around the house. It’s quite a powerful little tool for the price and I can see us getting a lot of use out of it, as the seasons change and we find new outdoor items to look at.

I was actually shocked that it was so easy to use. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews but I figured I'd try it anyway, I could always return it. It came charged, which was awesome, so we could test it out right away. The directions are super simple that my son (8) was able to do it on his own. App was easy to use. I followed directions that I saw in the questions on Amazon. Picture quality was impressive and the app was easy to use too. Can't wait to explore with this!!

This is a great camera for the price! Unfortunately I need to take close up's of skin defects due to Skin cancer. This camera let's me take detailed pictures and email them to the dermatologist for evaluation. Works great!

Got this for my classroom but I have a feeling it may end up back at home or I'll be needing a second when my little one is old enough. This is such a fun way to use a microscope with a group my SPED students are very visual learners and this was a huge help as I do not have a class set of microscopes and even if I did they struggle to put them in focus. Can't wait for another unit that needs magnification!

I run a small business and run some social media pages alongside it that require me to take interesting photos. Now I decided to spice things up a bit and set myself apart from the norm by using this microscope and holy cow. This is simply amazing. The photos are super amazing to say the least. The quality is pretty good, nothing amazing or in 4k but for the price it’s still a pretty neat toy. You can adjust the focus based on how far away the camera is and it’s fairly easy. The stands provided are of decent quality. The arm can be adjusted based on angle and height, but I wish a bit more flexibility could be made, and sometimes it does tip over. The extra zoom is pretty useful sometimes, and the LEDs help a ton for low light situations or on the other stand included to see things even more up close. It’s very easy to focus whatever it is you need to take a picture. The App is easy to download and even easier to connect. The instructions are clear and precise. There should be very little if any trouble shooting. The thing is that it connects through wifi, so you’ll be unable to receive any messages or whatnot while using the app. It would be cool if you connect it via Bluetooth or some other means so that you can share photos while you’re still using it, Or maybe even a video option, that would be amazing. Overall this is a pretty neat toy and gadget, its pretty fun and you’ll get tons of enjoyment out of it. I cant wait for the next iteration where the quality is improved and other minor things are ironed out!

RotekDirect has asked me to review my purchase and I'm happy to do so. 10 years ago I purchased a CARSON USB Magnifier (zOrb MM-480). While it worked OK with Windows XP, with a modern PC OS I've dreaded using it. Getting it to work and to focus is such a travail. In contrast this new Wireless Microscope is a joy to use. It has amazing resolution, was less expensive than the zOrb, and is easy to use. My only irritation is having to disconnect my iPhone from local WiFi to use it...but many similar products require the same thing. If they come up with a Bluetooth model, I'd seriously consider buying it also.
