Buy some weather stripping!!

The biggest issue with this is installing the window part! My husband and I went and got some additional weather stripping (foam) so the sliding pieces were flush with the window. Well worth it- keeps out the hot air and bugs! Machine itself is fairly loud, you can talk over it but you’re not talking at a normal volume. Overall would buy again because it’s dang effective at cooling the room!!

Saved our summer

Our a/c compressor went out in May in rural Texas. The heat was 80 degrees and climbing and the repair for the unit (which by the way is over 40 years old) was going to be $5K. Of course, no one has a spare five thousand dollars laying around, so we looked into ways to survive the pending heat without breaking the bank. Someone mentioned portable air conditioners and low and behold, a quick search on Amazon led us to the SereneLife. The SereneLife portable a/c was not only rated higher than the LG and BlackandDecker models, but it was also consistently listed as outperforming those models. For $300, we decided to give it a shot. The unit arrived in pristine condition and was fairly easy to install. (The manual doesn't include specific window instructions as every person's situation will vary. However using trusty duct tape and the styrofoam packing from the shipping box, we had the unit in the window in less than thirty minutes. Naturally, it took the entire first day to regulate the temperature in our living room, but once it was going the difference was obvious. The SLPAC10 puts out a nice blast of cold air to help regulate the temperature of our large, open living room nicely. We haven't used the dehumidifier function yet, but for the past four days, it has been so cold that we have actually been able to leave the unit on fan and the room maintains a nice cool temperature. For anyone seeking a temporary, yet effective solution for cooling their home, I strongly suggest skipping the competitors and spending the money on the SereneLife. It will change your life.

Best Seattle Investment Yet

I live in Seattle, where almost no one has A/C. My apartment is ~750sqft, so this isn't powerful enough to cool the entire home, but it has massively improved the living conditions in my apartment and for my dog. If you would like an air conditioner, this works very well. It does make some noise, but it's easily ignored. The remote is a plus. If I had to rebuy, I would aim for something around 18,000 BTUs, but honestly I love this thing.

Turned it on. Felt it even downstairs.

Easy to install. Cold air right away. Have 17 by 20 master bedroom on third floor. Work nights. Was freezing out my family downstairs trying to get my room cool to sleep during the day. Turned it on, and we could feel cold air even going down the stairs . Wish I had bought this years ago. First day, will keep you apprised if any problems arise.

I love this! It came assembled so all i had to do was take it out of the box and plug it in! I use this for my apartment and within minutes my apartment was completely cool.

Bought this for a room - cooled the entire floor!

I was amidst a renovation in my basement when I got the idea to cut a porthole and install a portable air conditioner to cool my home office (I work from home). I did a bit of shopping and picked this one out based on reviews and price - both good. First off, the packaging was awesome which is something that I usually overlook. All I had to do was cut a few straps and I was already in business. I have had these in the past so install was straight-forward. When I kicked it on I was surprised at how cool the room got as quickly as it got. My home office is roughly 25x12 feet and it cooled down about 10 degrees in roughly 20 minutes. Granted, it's not the middle of summer right now but that was impressive. What I also noticed after a few days was that it made my dehumidifier down here unnecessary - that was a nice bonus. So between the cooling capacity and the dehumidifying - I'd say this was a big win. Glad I thought to do this while I was already in the middle of a project.

Perfect Size for a portable A/C unit

Great quality for the size; quiet, it does work perfectly for my living room. It comes with caster wheels so it is easy to roll it from room to room. It comes with the window venting adapter and the connection.

Excellent cooling

Been using this for a few weeks and it's so much better than one we returned (a different brand, but supposedly more powerful). Cools the 12x14 room very fast, even though it's an open plan room, so the lower BTUs are fine. Very happy with purchase.

MONEY WELL SPENT

I LIVE IN SOUTH CAROLINA WHERE OUR SUMMER STARTS IN APRIL. I BOUGHT THIS UNIT TO USE IN A BEDROOM AT NIGHT. I READ COUNTLESS REVIEWS ON THIS PRODUCT AS WELL AS OTHERS. I RECEIVED THE UNIT A DAY EARLIER THAN SCHEDULED SO THAT WAS GREAT! NO DAMAGE TO THE BOX OR PRODUCT IN SHIPPING. THE LONGEST PART OF THE INSTALLATION WAS THE VENTING OF THE WINDOW KIT AND IT WAS REALLY NOT DUE TO THE PRODUCT IT WAS KIND OF DUE TO OUR WINDOW BEING LARGER THAN A NORMAL WINDOW. AFTER GETTING IT VENTED WE TURNED IT ON AND THE ROOM WAS COOL IN MINUTES. THE REMOTE WORKS WONDERFULLY AND IT COOLS A ROOM DOWN VERY QUICKLY. IT CAN GET REALLY COLD FAST WHICH IS WHAT WE LOVE! WE WILL SEE HOW IT CONTINUES TO KEEP UP WHEN WE REACH OVER 100 DEGREE'S HERE. AS FAR AS NOISE, SOME PEOPLE WILL FIND IT LOUD BUT WE SLEEP WITH BOX FAN'S SO THE SOUND IS NO ISSUE FOR US. AFTER ALL IT IS A AC UNIT ITS BASICALLY THE SAME NOISE YOU WOULD HAVE IF YOU STAYED IN A HOTEL AND RAN THE AC. IT'S BIG AND WE ARE CRAMPED BUT AGAIN IS NOT IN ANYWAY A REASON TO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, WE JUST HAVE A SMALL SPACE BUT I WOULD RATHER BE COLD THAN TO HAVE SPACE! WE HAVE BEEN RUNNING IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND HAVE NOT HAD TO DRAIN IT YET. OVERALL AFTER BEING HESITANT AND READING ALL THE REVIEWS I HAVE TO GIVE THE PRODUCT A 5 STAR REVIEW! BEST MONEY I HAVE SPENT!
