Nice little gadget ...

Got this because I only had a single door handle lock on my front door ... not very much security. It's a metal door so I did not want to cut a dead bolt lock hole through it and then mortise the jamb for the bolt. So thought that I'd give this a try ... seemed simple enough. Install was indeed easy. Unfortunately, there was not much room between the edge of the door and the jamb so the door was rubbing on this locks mounting plate. Had to use a wood chisel to make proper clearance for the plate in the jamb ... was hoping that I would not need to do this. Mounted the lock ... nice fit and operates smoothly. Very easy to lock and unlock. It is a bit smaller than I anticipated but it looks quite sturdy and they did say it takes 800 lbs to kick it in. If someone did try to kick it in, that would make an awful lot of noise which would give me plenty of time to assume a proper defensive position with appropriate self defense tools.

Excellent value and top notch quality

This door lock is extremely easy to install and works great. Be sure to drill pilot holes prior to affixing screws permanently. After the installation is complete, I tried opening the door from outside and the door did not nudge a bit. I pushed and pushed with no possibility to force myself in. I don't think this reinforcement lock is unbreakable but it would take the bad guys are lot of efforts to break in. The price was excellent and definitely a good buy.

A must have with children!

We love this product! My husband went out to the store to find something to prevent our 3 year old from opening the front door. The only thing he found were the “covers” you put on the door handle that prevents the child from opening the door. The covers have two small holes that the adult puts their fingers in to hold the doorknob and open the door. I hated the “covers” it not only made it difficult for my son to open the door, but for me also. I went looking for an alternative and these were the best thing I could find! They are easy to install and easy to use. Not to mention, they aren’t a huge eyesore! We ended up buying three of these!

Simple, discreet, and strong

I live in an apartment complex without a deadbolt. I hate the idea of a staff member unlocking my door while I'm inside, and bought these for peace of mind. It took 5 minutes to install, looks good, and seems really strong. When I move out, it'll be easy to take this with me, as well. Rarely do I buy a product that exceeds my expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised!

Easy installation and Secure..

These do not cost much and are SUPER easy to install. The product provides a very good second level of security if someone were attempting to push in your door. These are a GREAT option for securing doors (if you mount them high) to avoid children opening doors and running out of a home unexpectedly. We have three of these in the home and they all work well.

Great security

I put one of these on my bedroom door with a roommate I did not trust. So quick and easy to install and so easy to use. I plan to get some for my exterior doors when it is just family and battening down for the night.

feeling safer with the extra protection.

I am loving the extra protection. I sleep better at night knowing that we have the extra protection-I've installed one on our hallway door-that way when we move our kids to toddler beds, I don't have to worry about them getting up and getting into anything during the night. Just an extra ease of mind for this mama bear!!

Great Design

Have not installed it but this is ALL the door safety lock you will ever need. You will need to do a show and tell for all family members on how to open and close the latch. It takes some force in the correct direction to open and close it, and the very young and elderly may not be able to open it easily, especially if they are not trained in using it. I would suggest that the spring force be reduced to make it easier to use for everyone. But, a great tool to child-proof a main door!

I am unable to open the door when the lock is in place, very secure.

Seems to work fine. The lock doesn’t seat completely against the door, just the edge, but it looks like it does what it was designed to do. I’m very satisfied!
