perfect for need
My mother is disabled and used something like this for years until it died, so since she lives 2 hrs from me i went on Amazon for a replacement. i looked for something simple, no wifi or fancy things to confuse her, just plug, plug, and turn on and off, lol. Well she LOVES it, she says the switch is so much easier for her to use and she was so impressed with how fast it was shipped, lol. She still calls places to order on the phone so I think she thinks things still come pony express, thank you for making my mothers year!!!

Yeah buddy!
I looked for something like this several years ago, and couldn't find anything. So glad I found this. It works great for a remote switch for a low power garbage disposal. I also bought another so I could reboot my network switch that I have hidden on top of a tall cabinet. Pretty much turn any pluggable non-switched device, into a switched device. Just make sure the power rating of the device that plugs into this switch does not exceed this switch's stated power rating. Recommended!

Happy with control
I installed this to turn on an LED light in my basement while I was having humidity problems and the fluorescent lights weren't working. So I installed the switch at the top of the staircase and the outlet is downstairs, maybe 5 feet from the side of the staircase. I was initially concerned that it wouldn't work because the switch and outlet aren't in direct line of sight but I haven't had issues. Once in a while I have to press the button twice but never more than that. It's been a few months and I'm happy with this easy solution to my problem. I'll probably start using this in my living room since I don't have light switches there.

Simple Solution to my Complicated Problem!
Context: I have a room with no lights. One of the outlets is controlled by two switches, one located at each entrance to the room (two total). I want a lamp in each corner of my room, and wanted to avoid using an extension cord because it looked ugly. So I purchases two outlet receivers with the accompanying light switches. Summary: I programmed both light switches to operate both outlet receivers. This took a little while to figure out, but after they connected, it works like a charm. My goal was to install the light switches OVER the other light switches in order to hide them. In order to do this, I had to turn off the power to my home, uninstall the light switch, and connect the in-wall wiring to complete the circuit to the outlets (to allow them power without the need for a switch). I then took this product and installed the switch right over the opening to the old switches. Complication: Although the light switches did install over the old ones, I had to put a bead of gorilla glue around the outside of the light frame because the screw holes in the light switch frame did not lineup with the wall. It has been three days and the gorilla glue bonded perfectly. I know have two new light switches installed over the two old ones. You can't even tell that there are two light switch holes behind these. Pros Connected two outlets to two switches They look modern and work great Work exactly as anticipated Solved my problem and are simple to use Cons None Things to Look out for: 1.Ensure the placement of your light switches is ideal and can be done with screws, if not, they gorilla glue just fine 2. If trying to connect two light switches to two devices, it is a little tricky. The light switch needs to be right next to the Outlet Device when paring, not across the room. Right next to it. I paired one, then i repeated the steps on the other. When i tried pairing both at the same time, I had issues. I paired one, then I paired the other. Then I repeated with the second switch. 1. Pair 1st switch with first outlet device 2. Pair 1st switch with second outlet device 3. Pair 2nd switch with first outlet device 4. Pair 2nd switch with second outlet device Conclusion: This product works and I have had zero issues outside of solving my own special problems. Works exactly as described. Very happy with purchase. I highly recommend!

Easy as 1,2, 3
I installed two fluorescent shop lights above my work bench that I had to manually plug in every time I needed to turn them on, since I didn't want to hassle with routing electrical wires through the wall and installing a light switch. This little nifty thing solved the problem, by enabling me to remotely controlling the lights. I installed a duplex outlet in the ceiling that was super easy, as I had a live wire in the attic, near the lights. Adding the duplex took me less than an hour, pure and rare luck there. The rest was even easier. I plugged in the receiver and didn't even have to synch it to the wireless switch. With the duplex near the lights, I don't have to look at any wires dangling down from the ceiling either. The light switch is a surface mount, so it won't match the standard light switches, but it's perfect in a shop environment. The only modification I would recommend for this product is adding another outlet to the receiver to have a full duplex outlet. I ended up using an adaptor to connect two lights to the receiver.

works well as set of 2
Caveat: have only had these for a day so will update later if there are any long-term issues. Pros: I bought two of these which are placed less than 100 feet apart. Controls each light separately, did not have to program different frequencies out of the box (not sure if this is the norm but there seem to be options to change them if needed). Cons: not exactly aesthetic... bulky appearing and a gray off-white color. Have not shopped around for others so not sure how this compares to what else is out there on the market. BUT, I'm grateful I no longer have to stumble through dark rooms to get the light. I rent an apartment in a "luxury" building but none of the outlets were programmed to the light switches, and it beats paying more than $1000 for them to install overhead lights and rewire the outlets for a place I may not be living in more than a year or two.

Let there be light!!💡
“Earl”, my very handy & clever hubby, hung up white LED rope lights around the inside of the bifold door frame of our kitchen pantry closet and plugged this in & TUHDUH!! We could finally put away the flashlight 🔦 that we’ve been using to find snacks late at night! Then I ordered another for an extra garage light that we will now be able to actually turn on from INSIDE of the house..before having to go out in the dark to try to find the light switch that the builder had put on the wrong side of the doorway..... AND JUST NOW realized that I need yet another set to make it a handy bedside remote for my favorite bedroom fan didn’t come with one & it freezes me up in the AM!!

Simple upgrade
This little gadget let me put a light switch right next to the door going out to the garage from the main room. The light switch to the main room is actually around a corner when coming in from the garage (a dumb compromise for code reasons by the builder), so if you're coming in at night, you have to feel around a pitch black room to turn on the light. With this remote control switch, I set up a tall lamp in the corner of the room, plugged the switch into the nearest outlet, and stuck the remote control right by the door. Now, coming in at night we have easy access to a light. It's very simple and very easy, and I highly recommend it to anyone that needs a little more convenience in their lives. The plugin switch has a single button on it that lights up whenever it is turned on. You can turn it on/off by tapping the button . If you need to pair with the remote (or you buy additional remotes), press and hold the button until it starts flashing slowly. Then you need to press the On and Off buttons on the remote control. When you're done the light will stop flashing and the remote should work. To erase all pairings, press and hold the button until the light starts flashing quickly, then tap the button again and it will shut off. The remote should not work at that point, and you're ready to pair it again. The remote control comes with a wall plate it slides onto, and two drywall screws. Just screw the plate into the drywall, slide the remote control over top, and you're good to go. The remote control has a 23A 12V battery in it. Not sure how long it will last, but the remote control is so low power I could easily see it lasting a couple years, and replacements are cheap and easy to come by. Be aware, there's a tiny slip of paper between the battery and contact for shipping purposes; take that out before using it or the remote won't work (took me a long time to figure that out). For those wondering, this uses LPD433 (UHF 433Mhz) for communication between the switch and remote control, so it won't interfere with Wifi, cell phone signals, bluetooth, cordless phones, or electric utility smart meters.

Stopped working after one use.*Updated
Worked one time when initially plugged in after receiving. Ever since, has not worked and have tried in several different outlets, with different things plugged into it. Also tried replacing the battery to see if that was the issue and still does not seem to want to work. Real bummer, wanted this to work. 🤷🏼♂️ Update as of 11/17/18 They contacted me right away after my initial review. They fixed the issue and sent out a replacement right away and the switch works just as it should now!

Super easy to use
LOVE this thing! Very easy to install and works like a charm. I use it for my pendant light hanging over my dining room table. My house was built back in the 30's so there aren't many overhead lights throughout the house. So, until we can install recessed lighting, the cheap amazon pendant lights will have to do. Without having the lights installed, we don't have any light switches, so this was an inexpensive fix. True, it doesn't look great, but it works like a charm and I've already recommended it to three different people. My only complaint would be the actual remote control. It comes with batteries in it, but it can be a little touchy sometimes and you have to click it twice for the switch to turn on.
