It's almost impossible to match your sucking and evaporation rate with the dripping rate, so your under pot tray is the buffer.

Saves time and plants

I have used water globes for years during the summer to help keep outside plants watered. Having the guards to keep dirt from plugging up the tubes will greatly help. I appreciate the funnel too and am looking forward to using them.

Self Watering Globes

I bought these for my plants because i got tired of trying to figure out how much water they needed. I've had them for almost two weeks now and they work very well. I check them every few days to see if they need a refill. Outside of this, it keeps me from having drooping or brown plants!

Works

I have been using these for about 4 days. So far the drip rate has been consistent after I adjusted it to what I wanted. They are easy to use. I am using a 1L bottle. It is not top heavy. Would like to try a 2L bottle, but have not had a chance to. I think they will be good for a weeks vacation, but it is hard to tell without trying at the temperatures I will have in the summer. Happy so far!

A real plant-saver

The ingenuity of people never ceases to amaze! We bought these to help with watering when we are away for an extended period of time. Depending on how long you’re away you might to use pretty big bottles, even though these allow you to set very slow drip times. Don’t forget to puncture the top of the bottle to allow the water to flow. An obstacle you might run into Is finding bottles that fit into these things. They should fit most standard bottles but these days you will find many water bottles with smooshed openings in order to save on plastic.

Works Great but not for 2 Weeks at a time.

I've been using these bulbs for years. They are all pretty much the same. None of them hold water for 2 weeks. If you're going on vacation for 2 weeks or more, get someone to water your plants.

Huge; easy to install!

Lovely to look at, easy to install, and hold a lot of water. I used a small drill bit with an extension to drill the hole in the botton. Like them so much, I bought a second set.

Good product!

Enjoying for a few of my plants that need lots of watering. When you have a busy life and tend to either forgot about it or having trouble keeping up with it. This little thing come in so handy. I find it easy to use following the tips given on this page.

Great gadget for the price!

Great gadget for the price! From all the plastic water spikes I looked at, this is the one that seems the most well make. It has a hole already punched in and it has turning knob built in so it's ready to go. My mother stole half of them already. Works best with middle size 1L Coca Cola or Fanta plastic bottle.

Just what I needed to help me out!

I purchased this to help keep my plants watered while I was at work and away on vacation. There were several days last summer that I would water my plants in the morning and by the time I got home from work I would spend an hour watering again!! I wanted to be prepared this summer in case we get another extremely hot spell! We went on vacation a few weeks ago and I used these on a few of my plants and they worked great! I wouldn't count on them being the only means of watering, but I love how I can adjust the flow. Because some of my plants like alot of water, whereas others do not. I had purchased the clay type too, but they proved to be too fragile. I broke one simply attempting to put it in the potting soil, which was not hard! I would recommend these to anyone needed an extra hand with plants!

beautiful - appear to be hand blown - fantastic value

saw this same set (sans the plastic covers and funnels) for almost 2x the price - decided to take a risk, and it was well worth it. i bought two sets. they're beautiful. they appear to be hand-blown. no two globes are alike. these are pretty enough to use as decoration. they're designed to supplement watering- not to replace it. the adorable instructions even warn you against leaving your plants for an extended vacation. fantastic value for the price! get em now, b4 they up the price! will upload pics as soon as i can!
