This is an excellent power source for charging or using anything you have that plugs into your car's 12 volt socket., now called a Power Port. THIS IS A 12VOLT POWER OUTLET and IS NOT THE SAME AS A 12VOLT CIGARETTE LIGHTER SOCKET CAUTION ! This is a LOW POWER * 2 AMP * 12 volt source. It is not meant to have as much power as a car cigarette lighter socket, . I use it to power my XmSirus satellite radio inside my house, and also to power up my Garmin GPS for programming a new address into it, before going to the car.. The cord is about 3 feet long, the box that plugs into the wall is about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide by about 1 inch thick, AND it does not block the other outlet so you can still use it too. Again, IF your car/vehicle no longer has an actual pop out cigarette lighter, this will power any small item, For example a Phone charger/tablet/ GPS/Dash Cam/12 volt shaver/adapter to USB etc, but will be quickly destroyed by such a heavy AMP item as a 12 volt tire pump(14amp) that plugs into a REAL 12 volt cigarette lighter socket. (a socket which has a cigarette lighter in it) . Well made , works great, I bought another one. Yep Very satisfied.

I wanted to get a Bluetooth connection between my phone and my boombox in the shop so I got one of these adapters to plug my car FM transmitter into the wall. Worked perfectly. I would advise people to check the power requirements of the device they want to plug into this adapter to be sure it is compatible. I saw a lot of negative reviews from people complaining about how underpowered it is. Even if that is true, it says the max output it can deliver right in the product name. It tells you everything you need to know right there. "2A 24W" To hear people whining about how it won't power their 10 amp air compressor boggles my mind. Instead of leaving a negative review for the product, these people should really be giving themselves negative reviews as consumers like... "I give myself one star because I'm lazy and I'm a moron. I didn't read the product description, so I ended up getting a product that didn't meet my needs. I probably don't even deserve one star to be honest"

Able to plug in the DC air pump and fill my car tires inside the garage versus opening the door and starting the car.

So I still have the stereo system in my house is from my high school/college days (the early 90's). It's still a great component system with an actual radio, separate EQ, and multi-disc CD player (I finally moth-balled the tape deck a couple of years ago). The house is wired and set up with Bose speakers and it's nice to hear and feel full sound vs. playing music with a phone on the counter or through a portable bluetooth speaker. I plug this in next to the stereo and use it to power a bluetooth hands-free transmitter for a car. Now we can sit at the counter with our phones and control the music and have it playing everywhere.

For what I needed, it works great and let's me use the smaller vacuum inside. I don't have a car and didn't want to spend double the money on another vacuum simply for the smaller parts when the car vacuum handles the job just fine, but being a car vacuum, the converter is a must, obviously. I'm just glad it works and let's me clean up my work shop as I go.

It works perfect in the house with a portable DVD player. Love it

I got the to keep my Garmin updated through WiFi in my house so I did have to worry about killing the battery in my car and it worked great, but I did notice that it is not something to run a car vacuum on, compared to the cigg outlet in a car this isn't as powerful and it got hot when I did, so for some things like a phone charger or what I did this is great.

Bought this for my wife to keep in car to charge her cell phone when on trip and not in car. It is well made and rapid charges her phone with no problem. Only minor thing is the car adapter is some what of a loose fit ( does not fall out) into this adapter but not a big concern. Works fine

This allows you to use a car cigarette lighter powered device IN your home or hotel room traveling. I use it for my miniature fridge that holds 6 drink cans cold tin the car or in the hotel room if room without fridge as many are. Fridge can be bought for about $15-16 on AMAZON plus the adapter for another $5-6 and you are in business to cool or heat and in your car or elsewhere!

The cord was plenty long for my use. Used it to power a DC powered bluetooth amplified speaker box in my shop. Now can run on AC with the light switch or breaker. The socket was a little loose, so just cut both ends off and spliced together. Now it's an AC unit only. Worth the money to me.
