Very well made

This item feels like it was quality made. It swivels very smooth compared to others where they rest against each other. The paint is smooth and not running. The edge is sharp and flat for accurate measurements. I know it sounds weird, but this item really does stand out vs the others I've used in a shop. The couple bucks more for this was worth it.

Color Code System (Heavy Duty Design)

The color code system makes it quick and easy to see whether brake pads need to be replaced. If your brake pads fall in the 2mm (red) or 3mm (red) range, replace immediately like i did. If the brake pads fall into the 4mm (yellow), 5mm (yellow), or 6mm (yellow) you should replace soon. If they are in the 8mm (green), 10mm (green), or 12mm (green), obviously they are in good shape. These are great for people like me that do their own maintenance. Also, would be great for mechanics so they can show their customers if they are in the "red" or "yellow" zone

Professional tool for the back yard mechanic

This tool is sturdy and very well made. It was easy to use to measure the outside brake pad. There was some difficulty measuring the inside portion of the brakes. I don't have the capability to put my car on a lift so I don't know if I had that capability if it would have been easier. One last recommendation is to provide diagrams showing how to measure in the event the user has difficulty . I talked to my local mechanic when I got my car inspected and he uses the same tool.

Simple tool, not much to say... but I'm pleased with the overall construction. Good coating on the blades, and the attachment swivel is solid (isn't sloppy.)
