Can't speak as to the durability of the dimmer but it works great. I bought a few sets of LED outdoor string lights and they were too bright. This dimmer works great 5 pre set percentages and several custom levels. Love the remote.

Works with FEIT LED String Lights from Costco

I was a little worried because the FEIT LED string lights from Costco did not contain the magic words "Dimmable" anywhere in the product description on the box or on the paperwork inside. (Which is funny because all replacement LED bulbs you buy at Home Depot do specify whether an LED bulb is dimmable, even ones made by FEIT). The undimmed new 1W LED bulbs are a beautiful warm white (not yellow) color - identical to the original 11W incandescent bulbs they replaced in a side-by-side test at night in the same string, which is exactly what I wanted - but they are so efficient that the new 1W LED bulbs seemed even brighter than the 11W bulbs they replaced. That's fine for cleaning up after the party or for searching if someone loses an ear ring, but not optimal for mood, once the grilling is done and the music and wine are flowing freely! Since the whole 48ft LED string (1 Watt 2700K bulbs) only cost me $40 on sale at Costco ($10 off), and this dimmer cost me the same amount on Amazon, I was going to be pretty bummed if it didn't work - but I took a chance. Happy to report they work beautifully together! I only use 3 buttons on the remote: 100%, 75%, and "Min" (which appears to be 50%.) They should not even bother having all the other silly buttons on such a little remote!!! Another pleasant surprise is that when I adjust the lights to 75%, and allow the timer to turn the light string off automatically at 1:00 AM, when the timer turns the lights back on the next eve at 7:00PM they come back on at the same dimness level. (I thought the might default back to 100% when they came back on, and I'd need to manually re-dim them again w/ the remote each evening I wanted them dim - which is almost always. But fortunately the dimmer "remembers" what level it was last used at, which is typical for mechanical switches but not necessarily so for soft-touch buttons like the ones on this remote. I'm sure this dimmer won't last as long as the LED bulbs, ie 7 years or so, but if I get even 2 years or so out of it, then it's definitely well worth the $40!! (I'm only using it on a single LED light string for my application, but if you plugged multiple LED strings into the single dimmer in a series, then the $40 dimmer cost would seem even more reasonable, ratio-wise.)

Works as stated - Does NOT heat up

There are reviews here talking about heat when this dimmer is hooked up. Again (and this has been suggested in other reviews)... IF YOU USE LED BULBS, the thing works just fine - cool to the touch, no heat to speak of. When coupled with the suggested Amazon LED bulb string - a total of 15 x 2 Watt LED bulbs = a total of 30 Watts... there is no heat. If you try to use the incandescent bulb equivalent, say 15 x 25 Watt bulbs = a total of 375 Watts... then, yea... this thing might actually catch fire (ie beyond the stated limit of 200 watts). Follow the stated recommendations and it will work fine. The device dims lights to a respectable minimum. The remote has many options - you only need to increase or decrease, frankly... Works well. The RF remote means you have great range. There are limited instructions - however, if you have any experience using a standard remote (or electronic device) it's not that hard to figure out. Bottom line - for the money, this little device works great and gives you what you need... a small add-on that allows you to dim those pesky outdoor LEDs to a nice cozy glow.

We have dimmer hooked up to our outdoor lights, and it makes turning them on and enjoying them so much easier and faster. Just testing, because my string lights is not installed in my backyard. I bought them at the same time... I can't wait to use them at Christmas time with the holiday lights.It will make it so much easier and warmer:) Seriously...such a simple thing,but it is huge deal in my house.The remote is super easy to use, and it's pretty light and a little small, I'm a tad worried about losing it, but overall I'm incredibly happy with this. As my photo shows, dimmer has 4 brightness settings and you can define brightness yourself, I only tested 2 brightness 50% and 100% brightness, my phone is not very clear, I really want you to see it. Came fast and as described. Makes my lights look very nice. It works great! Recommend this!

Great LED dimmer

Nice dimmer, a must for digital string lights. Works with amazing range. Only negative, I did not get a manual to how use. Has lots of features. A must for those wanting to use LED string lights.

Works very well. Remembers settings. Doesn’t overheat with LED lights.

Works very well. Cold to the touch after hours of use and shows no signs of overheating. I wonder if the people that have had overheating issues know to use LED only bulbs and not incandescent. The remote works well and dim setting is saved after being unplugged/outlet it’s plugged into being turned off. I use in conjunction with iDevices outdoor switch and Brightech Ambience Pro LED Waterproof Outdoor String Lights - Heavy Duty. Four strands are plugged in together and so wonderfully bright that I needed this for daily use. Love being able to use the remote on this dimmer to quickly brighten or dim even further.

So far so good

Have only had it a short time but so far so good. I really like all the dimming features compared to another product I tried. And it also has a higher wattage rating compared to competitors. My only complaint is that the input and output cords are a little short. I was able to get it mounted without issue but there is not much slack. Based on the number of potential customer mounting scenarios I know it is nearly impossible to fit everyone's needs perfectly, but an inch or two more would help. Overall I'm satisfied and hope it is durable. Seems well built. I'll update if time determines otherwise.

Great product,great company, LECLSTAR

There are 3 LED strings in my yard. Sometime I worry about being too bright will sting my eyes. I have been looking for a perfec outdoor dimmer until I found the LECLSTAR company and bought string lights. The dimmer works great and the design is perfect.I have to say that this is something everyone deserves if you have an outdoor string lights. The connection is very convenient. I also use an electrical tape to wrap the connector to prevent it from hitting the rain. It's really great. I can control the lights at 50 feet or even 100 feet instead of going out to turn off the power. I used to worry about the light being too bright, but now I won't, I get the lowest brightness. I like it very much, I can enjoy my light life at 25% brightness, or I can do anything at 100% brightness.Any activity, if you like 50% or 75% I you need this too. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and give this company a compliment.Great product, great company, LECLSTAR
