This is my second Apeman trail cam and just like the first one it works awesome! It takes great night/day photos and videos. I purchased these just to see what kind of animals I have in my five acres of woods for fun. I’ve seen everything from deer, porcupine, bears and raccoons on these in perfect video and still shots. Lots of fun! One thing I do highly recommend for these is spending a little more on an SD Card reader if you have an iPad/iPhone. The one I found to work the best is here on Amazon. Search B07FMT4F14. This one seemed to do the trick after buying two other ones that didn’t work. Again, for IPad/IPhone without installing an app

So I purchased a deer cam a few weeks ago and liked it so much I want to get a second one, this is a different brand, I figured I would try something new and I love it. It is so easy to use the pictures are very clear, the video quality is very good, it’s very easy to set up. There is a small little monitor inside when you open the door to go through all the settings and I was able to set it up without even reading the directions it was that easy. One thing I liked about this particular Kam is that it came with hardware to attach to a tree not just a wrap around the tree but an actual metal brackets bolted into the tree which I thought was really nice, the reason is the camera can be set up at any angle of the trees off by a little bit you can fix it and picture to be nice and straight. Very satisfied with the cameras. I have a total of 8 now. Only 1 issue and it was resolved by customer support with 2 emails. I get great pictures and videos day and night. Setup is a breeze. Very few blank shots. It's usually the wind or a passing bird. I use the burst shots and I get great results. I've had some out since the middle of summer and still haven't had to change the batteries. Probably will have to soon. I've got literally 2500 plus shots. Follow the directions they are spot on. I will say to set up the camera not to look east or west. The sun will mess up the picture quality. Hopefully this helps.

My GSD dog is always barking in the house at night when her nose detects critters anywhere near the property, so have purchased this Apeman trail camera to find out what is causing her distress. I wan’t expecting the critter zoo parading in the back of the property so was completely surprised at the quality of photos and video the camera has captured. This is a great product and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to get in on the “evening’s outdoor activities!” or for daytime and/or nighttime use. The day photos/video are in color. There are so many numerous settings to choose from but especially like setting the timer to turn on at a specific time during the night and picking the choice of two photos and then a video. i did see a complaint mentioned that the video doesn’t give the date/time/temp, but I always have at least one photo snapped at the time which gives that information on it. This camera has even picked up tiny mice running across the camera motion area with their glowing little beady eyes. I am always excited to check what the camera has caught. I find the photos to be of great quality. The battery length is wonderful if using the recommended eight 1.5v AA lithium batteries. I have used the same set of batteries for the last several weeks with the camera having taken hundreds of photos and videos during the night. It still had a full charge when I brought it in. Hooking up the camera to my laptop to view the photos is a no-brainer. A purchase of the SanDisk Ultra SDHC UHS-1 32gb card with the camera was a necessity to hold many photos/videos as possible. Apeman recommends at least a class 6 or faster card up to the 32gb capacity. This product is a definite thumbs up!!

The H70 design has been improved, but is a little harder to work with than the earlier H65 units. I think it has received an excellent upgrade and is more reliable than the older H65 Trail Cams. The H70 doesn't read a memory card larger than 32Gb, and the camera will not operate with a larger card inserted. The H70 is advertized as capable of running on a 6V 2A power supply, but running it on external power is made unnecessarily complicated by its new design. The 8 AA batteries are now accessed from the bottom and since I mount my trail cam on a tripod, it must be removed every time the batteries are accessed. Apeman doesn't recommend using rechargeable batteries, and buying Alkaline batteries for this unit could get quite expensive if the unit gets a lot of use. So I purchased an external power supply, but that didn't exactly make things easier. Common operation requires checking the settings in TEST mode before switching the unit ON. This doesn't occur in quite that same amount of ease when using external power since the power plug must be disconnected to open the swinging door and then plugged in again to turn the unit on and make the settings for use. Pull the plug again so the door can be latched closed, and then finally, reinsert the plug again in order to allow the unit to start monitoring. Is that ridiculous or what? Also there is no indication that it is running on external power or battery power. Leaving batteries out of the unit resolves that question, but it will actually be easier to work with if you just leave a set of batteries installed. I installed AmazonBasics rechargeable AA batteries and have found they work just fine for my needs, using the external power supply when the needed results are more critical. In operation, the H70 wakes up quicker to snap a picture. I tested my older H65 cams by walking across in front of the camera at a leisurely pace from left to right to see if the camera would react in a timely manner. The H65 cams didn't, but the H70 does. In the best instance of five attempts set to snap 1 picture followed by a 10 second video, the H70 caught one of my hands as I was walking into view, and then the video for that snapshot caught only my shoe as I was walking out of view. Setting the camera to take two or three shots in succession is the fix, which I then tried and found to be true. Using the video alone without snapshots may also provide better results as well. As I have suggested before, placement of these cameras is crucial to successful results, especially if you want to catch a thief. Make sure the camera is positioned so it will have the subject in its view for the longest possible amount of time, and then you will likely get something more than just a nice background to view. By the way, the 1080P resolution provides very nice color pictures during daylight. At night, even black clothing appears white in the infrared lighting that creates black & white pictures. Also, the picture angle is quite narrow and so the pictures may appear to be zoomed out somewhat in comparison to the wider panoramic views provided by some other cameras.

This is a great trail cam for the price! The controls and settings are ridiculously easy to use compared to my other trail cameras. The picture quality is sharp both day and night. This unit is smaller than my hand and I found it to be easy to camouflage since I use it on State Forest land. It seems very durable and thoughtfully designed. Other reviews claimed the motion sensor is too sensitive but it is adjustable on this model and I have found it to be effective out to a good distance, while not getting too many false triggers. One important thing on that front is that you want *any* trail cam to be oriented on a North-South axis so the rising and setting sun won’t trip the camera or cause the photos to look washed out. I carry a compass with me to remove the guess work.

Original Review - The daytime photos are crisp and clear with good color, but the video is of a much smaller area so something in the edge of a photo will not show up in the video. Then I noticed that I never got any night photos. It will trigger in darkness but the photo is all black. Another design flaw is the location of the USB port. You have to remove the camera from the tripod mount, if you are using it, to attach the cord. I am sorry I bought it and wish I could return it. UPDATE: 9/8/19 - For months now I have been receiving emails allegedly from Apeman and someone named Jane offering me a new camera if I would send the original order number, my name and my address. I figured this was a scam, because how did they get my email address from this review? It isn't listed anywhere. Finally, I contacted Apeman directly to see if Jane is legit, and they said she is. I sent her my address and a few days later I have a new H70 camera! It is still in the box and I won't be able to test it until next week but if it works properly I will certainly revise my review to something more positive. At any rate, their customer service is excellent. Update #2: I finally got a chance to test the new camera Apeman sent me for free and it works perfectly. The night pictures are very good, the day photos are crisp with good color, and the videos are nice as well. It has a later version of firmware which may be why it works better than the previous one. Overall for the price I don't think you can beat this camera and if I decide to get another I will certainly look to Apeman. Many thanks to Jane in customer service for seeking me out and replacing the faulty camera I originally purchased!

When I order from Amazon or any other online provider I look for two things. First, the quality of the product in relationship to the way it’s described in their advertisement, and the customer service I would receive. I am very pleased with both the H70 camera and company I bought it from. The customer service was better then I expected It was prompt and very helpful. The Apeman Trail 20Mp 1800p hunting camera was just as describe. It was not difficult to use and the end products, the pictures and videos, were easy to record, were clear, and not difficult to transfer to my computer or view on the screen in the camera. I would not hesitate to recommended this company with a 5 star rating.
