Very cool and easy experiment

Very cool experiment for kids. Ours turned out great. Make sure you stir for at least 5 minutes, 10 is best for the crystals to grow big. We got the crystals out by cracking around the crystals with a butter knife and then sliding it out.

Mini explorer light up Crystal kit!

I haven't had the opportunity to help make all the crystals but I tried one out to make sure it would work. It hasn't even been twenty four hours and the crystals after forming perfectly! My son is excited and later today the other two are going to be started. Just make sure you boil that water :) My kiddo got a random, different brand, for Christmas and that one didn't work as planned and he was bummed. Honestly I will say I think it was my fault since I didn't boil the water long enough bit it looked my like fluffy crystals. Anyways with the mini explorer version I made sure the water was boiling extremely well. Update: I meant to update sooner but all three turned out perfectly. I made a small mistake on the first Crystal. Make sure that when you see the crystal start showing above the water to drain it. It does state that in the directions but I had misplaced them at the time. These were awesome and my son loved watching them grow and then if course enjoys then on display.

Bought for my nephew

I bought this crystal kit for my 7 year old nephew for his birthday. He absolutely loves it!

They really grow!

My 5 and 7 -year-old could not Wait each morning to wake up and see how much The crystals grew! This is a great project to do with your children. Delivery was on time and the transaction went perfectly!

PERFECT GIFT

We loved everything about this. Waking up to see how much it had grown, the easy instructions and the awesome colors made this a fantastic gift. Only one thing: be careful with the water, it can leave you with burns so wear gloves. No burns here, just a warning in the instructions.

Adult supervision a must! Base is problematic!

Wasn't crazy about using very hot water so adult supervision is very necessary. Finished product looks great! Base however is a problem as lights wouldn't work unless cord was" jiggled", not the best scenario.Then today when I again got the lights to come on, they turned into "flashers". Requested a replacement, so I guess I'll update later. Update: So I received another unit and guess what, the base doesn't work, does exactly the same thing that the previous base did!! So Crystal making went well, looks great on base, just don't expect any light!

Great STEM learning moment for kids

We have grown one crystal so far (see photo) and it turned out great! We are excited to do the others. Couple of learning moments - the mixture stains everything, so be careful with it. Ours took about 6 days to grow, and we probably could have let it go longer. Be careful with the glass seed unit when you place it in the plastic container. if you lose any of the small fragments in the solution, they will also spawn crystals off on the corners or wherever they end up. A good pair of rubber tongs to gently but firmly place that piece of glass is recommended. The typical plastic tongs can't hold it well while trying to place it on the small stand in the container.

Light-up science experiment that results in an awesome night light.

This was such a cool gift that my son received. It grew the most awesome crystals. Growing time was about a week. Then we pulled out the awesome crystals and placed them on the led stand. The stand with led lights to turn it into a night light is the icing on the cake for the finished product. I am a child development professor and would hands-down recommend this as a gift for any child to spark their mind and build scientific inquiry! I love it!!! My son adores it!

Age appropriate Christmas!

sorry can't review, we are starting our Xmas shopping for grandchildren, so won't know for awhile. However, having said that, we always take the child's personality into consideration when purchasing a creative piece. We think we have chosen some good fits for our upcoming holiday gifts.

Great light stand!

My son loves this gift! One thing we discovered was that the light stand takes a little while to charge up before turning on. He thought it was broken after plugging it in and having it not turn on. The comment rubber tongs to place the glass disk on the bottom was also helpful!
