Hopefully I just got a dud

I love the idea of these moon lamps. They look great when they work properly. This lamp worked for about an hour total. It glowed red (in charging mode) for more than a day, so I was suspicious that something was wrong. Then I unplugged it and let it run off the battery for about an hour. The next time I turned it on via the remote, nothing happened. So I plugged it in to see if it just needed a recharge. Again, nothing. I ordered 2 of these for Christmas. I just started charging the second one and will get the defective one replaced. I will update this review after testing the next ones. I so wanted to give this five stars since it really is a great idea. Hopefully I just got a dud. UPDATE: I have charged the second globe and it's beautiful and working as described. I changed 3 star rating to 5 stars. The price is also a plus.

Nice little room accessory (and not just for babies)

I'm an adult guy with no kids, so first of all I admit this isn't for a baby or anything. Basically I just wanted something low light similar to a night light, but, well, not and something I could keep on my night stand. I was looking for fake candles and then came across this. I think it's awesome. Also, you can change it into many different colors with fade/etc., but I almost always just use the default white light (that makes it look most like the moon). Very cool accessory, and for what you pay you can't go wrong.

Very pretty/cool!

Beautiful lamp! I purchased it for a friend, but I checked to see if it was correct and working before gifting. It was super easy to put together and already came mostly charged. The 3D print is very nice, although it's definitely much better looking lit up. I wouldn't say it's super durable, but I'm sure it could take a few minor falls. My favorite color is actually the white, but the other colors are very beautiful. It goes perfect in my friend's space-themed room. Pictures do not do this product justice, and it weirdly photographs/videos with weird lines though the item itself does not cause line lights in real life, so don't be alarmed by any photos that have the flickering lines. I'm not sure about the battery life or any other longtime issues that may occur because it is only a week old and no longer in my possession. I purchased the 5.98 size and I really find it to be the perfect size to sit on a nightstand or desk. It's just big enough to cup in your hand but not too big where you'd need two hands to hold it. The remote and touch pad (on the moon) are easy to use and are very cool! You don't need both to change the color or setting of the lamp. It comes with easy to understand instructions, the stand pegs, a remote, a small charger (no outlet charger as the product states; it is a USB charger, but you can hook it up to any cell phone charger box to connect it to an outlet), and a string to hang it (though we did not use that).

So cool! Worth it

Amazing! This thing is so cool. About the size of a cantaloupe. You just plug it in to charge then push the power button and unplug and use the remote to control. Have to provide your own usb charging port, super easy stand to put together. This is so cool. Might order one for my boyfriend as a gift. Very happy with this!

A realistic 3-D moonlight, works as advertised.

I already had a moon lamp similar to this one. It glows in yellow, white or ice-blue. You change colors by tapping on it. This moon is a definite improvement over my first one. Its hills and craters are deeper in relief, making for more of a 3-D appearance, especially when lit. The moon is made from a 3-D printer prototype. The part of the moon visible from Earth is precise and to scale according to the photos I've seen. With the dark side it is harder to tell, but it does look similar to some photos I've seen. The moon's battery is charged with a cable connected to a wall outlet. The one included is very short, but you can use any standard charging cable you may have. Once charged, you operate the moon's lighting with the included remote, which is ready to use from the box. The remote allows you to select one steady shade, or multi-colored strobe, fade, flash, and smooth effects. You can choose for the light to be bright or dim, though there is not much difference between the two. You can also time the light for 15 minute intervals up to an hour. To my astonishment, all of the settings work as they should. The wooden stand is self-explanatory, very easy to put together. The moon also comes with a cord to suspend it from the ceiling. Keep your moon out of direct sunlight. There is a lot of enjoyment to be had with this moon replica. You and your kids will enjoy comparing its topography to actual photos of the moon. It can be used indoors, or outdoors on summery evenings, for mood lighting or as a nightlight.

Good product for character. Needs a eye hoop ring to hang them. That would be a HUGE +!

Alittle smaller than i imagined. Haha. But pretty nifty had a slight issue so i thought with keeping it on a solid color. (White. ) but figured you just have to ether click it a few times fast or hold it one or the other. Was trying franticley to keep it solid. If you have a bit longer room say you can fit a queen and dresser+ night stands such as my room. Id defitinetly go with the larger moon. With this smaller one id need 2 of them which means 2 remotes. Hassle factor. Should of went bigger for the buck i suppose. Decided to be cheap and see how it was but wish i stuck to my gut. Love it though. Dont have kids. Just a nifty outlook in a modernized room or so i have for character. Havent tried it enough to test how long battery last. It does charge and then can remove cord so thats a plus. Trying to figure how to hang it from a corner. Got my room's walls and ceiling mirrored so does look pretty cool! Ill post pics up soon! Thank you! Ps. Roughly Size of a soft ball.
