VERY IMPORTANT do not plug in and test before install
You MUST install this on transfer case before plugging in and powering up. All other similar products have a warning label that says "do not power up before install", despite a youtube video that says to do this. This one did not have the label and I powered it up. I then had to disconnect battery and reset module, as it caused many errors. You MUST place the truck in nuetral and jack one rear wheel off the ground so you can spin rear drive shaft. this will allow slack to turn the transfer case selector by hand, or with pliers, it moves easily with no load on it. The splines must line up exactly. It took a little bit to adjust the transfer case splines very slightly to get it line up. AFTER install, hold the selector knob on the dash full turned to the right (nuetral) and turn key on. Hold 30 seconds +/- and let it go. The light will eventually indicate 4low. Work the knob slowly to each selection. Allow the light to follow. At one point I had to turn drive shaft slightly by hand to allow it to release from 4low. After all was tested, it worked fine. The initial testing had me worried, as it didnt work, only the lights blinked, but I believe it was because I powered it up to test it before the actual install on the transfer case. One other note, I have the knob, not the push button selectors as pictured in the ad. It seems to work fine.

Fixed my Service 4wd warning
This was an exact fit for my 2003 Silverado Z71. I was experiencing issues with the push button 4x4 lights indicating it was in 4 low or Neutral when I started the vehicle although it was really in 2 hi. After doing some research it seemed most likely that the servo motor inside the transfer case motor was bad causing it to lose it's position. I have had zero issues since replacing it with the new item. I was able to install this without removing the front drive shaft, it took some patients but there was just enough room to get the bolts out. The transfer case motor comes in the Neutral position so either switch your truck to Neutral with the push buttons (if you can) or you may have to jack up the rear axle so you can manually switch it once your old motor is removed.

Best price I could find this new Transfer Case Motor for my truck. Started getting a Service 4WD message on my DIC. Then I would start my truck & discover it would be in one of the 4WD modes. Checked fuses & relays, tried new switch on the dash, cleaned the grounds under the driver door, changed the gear oil in the front differential, changed the actuator on the front differential. This was the final piece to the puzzle & it solved it. Do yourself a favor and remove the front driveshaft before starting on the Transfer Case Motor. I tried to get it off without removing the driveshaft but there's 1 bolt you just can't get out without dropping the driveshaft. This T-Case Motor doesn't come with a new gasket but I figured mine wasn't in bad shape & it wasn't as you can tell in the photo. I just cleaned it up with some glass cleaner. There were 2 short bolts in a little bag that came with the motor that doesn't make sense, because 3 bolts hold it to the Transfer Case & the original bolts are way longer. I just planned on using my original bolts.

Easy application
Product fit perfectly. Quick delivery, within 48hrs! Comes preset in neutral. Remove the front driveline. Makes everything very accessible. Clip the rubber stub that holds the electrical connection in position. The new one has a one on the new connection. Make sure you get your vehicle into neutral!!!! Let me say that again MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE TRANSFER CASE INTO NEUTRAL. The red light on the 4 we switch. Put your rig’s transmission into neutral, while running. Push the 2wd and 4wd low buttons at the same time for about 10 secs. The red light will come on. I used regular car ramps and it was plenty high enough, even with me on a creeper. Make sure you set the E-brake. Use wheel chocks on the rear tires. Took around an hour from start to finish and I played around with the front U-joint trying to decide whether or not to replace it .. didn’t. Good luck

bolted right on my 06 Vortec Max
Its only been in for a week but I've had it in and out of 4-wheel probably 15 times now with no problem. This part can be replaced without dropping the front drive shaft, but if i ever have to do this again I will take it off it was more hassle than it was worth to replace with the front shaft still in. Once installed and the battery negative is put back on you must shift your truck into neutral for the encoder to activate and be able to shift through the 4-wheel setting. All in all this seems to be a good product for a fair price with a lifetime warranty.

perfect fit. I had no problems whatsoever installing the encoder. I just had to become a contortionist to get it done. Remember, vehicles are designed by automotive engineers, they don't design them to be worked on because they don't take the time to get their hands dirty. Enough said. I would not hesitate to buy again from this seller, quality parts at a decent price.

Awesome product, awesome price
Installed with no issues, works great and much less expensive than the local parts store even with next day delivery. There are no instructions with the unit; however, there are plenty of youtube videos that can walk you through it. 1 tip, after install you must disconnect your negative battery cable for about 5 minutes to clear the codes.

smooth clean ride
remember to disconnect the battery first and open all the doors, before attaching the battery, turn the key to see if the battery is set, wait for about 4-10 minutes before turning the vehicle on, this will allow the computer to asset the coder with the hold car electronic, then once crank press brake and put into gear. my first one crack and I return it, I sure am glad, I took the chance and replace the (send it back) broken one

Fixed my problem
Every morning I’d get in my 2003 Silverado and I’d have a service 4x4 light and my transmission would have shifted its self into 4x4 with no lights on the switch changed out this part and it got rid of the problem now my truck stays in 2 high and shifts between the 4x4 ranges so if your haveing those same symptoms this is your best bet

Good value for the money quick delivery also
I received motor quickly and installed the next day , unfortunatly it only worked a couple of cycles . Got in touch with supplier and they shipped another one out right away . finally installed today and seems to be working ok . now its just the test of time to see how it holds up . I do recommend supplier to others though .
