Great lights, easy to install with one issue
I have to rate these 5 stars, because they were a fairly simple install (one issue below), look great, and were a decent price (I paid under 15 each). In many cases, I'd deduct a star for the con, but I can't bring myself to do it. I'd buy these again, and I would recommend them to others. We've only had them in a couple days, so I can't speak to longevity or customer service. PROS: These are great lights. They're a competitive price online, and much better than what I found at box stores. They put out a good amount of light (we put 3 in our 8x6 bathroom and 2 in our 8x6 utility room), and have a good color. We chose the warm white, to keep it a more natural color, and I'll buy the same again. Install is easy enough. They don't come with a template for drywall cutout. I made a compass with a nail through a piece of plastic and a hole for a pencil exactly 3" away from the nail (shove the nail through the plastic and into the ceiling, go around in a circle with the pencil). CONS: There are two tabs on the outside of the metal box to secure them. DIRECTLY above each tab is the hole for your wiring. Your metal compression clamp (sold separately and required by code) that holds the wire in the box, is right in the way of the metal tab. This means you can't do your prep work down at a comfortable level then raise it up and secure the box to the truss. You have to secure the box first, then awkwardly install the clamps.

Great Light. Bright. Insulation Rated. Easy Install.
I don't leave reviews for a lot of items I buy but I've been so pleased with these lights that I felt the need to. I have installed about 30 of these throughout my house (living room, bedrooms, office, garage, kitchen, hallway) and they are awesome. They are a massive upgrade from the existing fixtures I had, especially when considering the cost and time to install. They are extremely bright so make sure you install with a dimmer to get the desired lighting (I used the Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH, White). For example, I installed 8 in my living room which has 8' ceilings and is 14'x18'. I spaced each light about 4.5' apart and I dim them down to about 75% for everyday use. In my opinion 3000k is the only color suitable for indoors, 2700k is too yellow and 4000k+ is too white (best for the garage). Whatever suits your taste, just make sure you buy all the same color throughout the house for a clean, uniform look. The specs state you only need a 6.02" ceiling opening. When I measured one of the backs before I made my first cut, it was more like 6.25". I've cut all my holes to 6.25" and these lights still have a snug fit with no gaps. I love that they are rated for contact with insulation. I had a few existing traditional canned lights in the kitchen that required a thermal barrier which I always ran into when moving around the attic, forcing me to fish out the blow-in insulation that inevitably found it's way into contact with the fixture. I would buy these again and would recommend them to anybody looking for a quality light that is reasonably priced and easy to install. I'll upload pictures in the next few days.

Quality materials, good warm color, easy to install, but follow my advice and you will be happy with these LED lights.
When finishing our basement we decided against traditional "can" lighting. We opted for these 6" thin dimmable dics that produce a (3,000k) warm light. They look nice installed and produce a pleasing warm light that is 100 Watt equivalent before being dimmed. Here are some things we learned: 1. When your electrician runs the wire that is to be covered by drywall (or other ceiling material) BE SURE that the light location is well marked !! Dry wall installers must preserve the light locations with a visible nail or something similar. In addition, note the location of the light locations on a ceiling map. Measure the inches from walls and from each other. You will be sorry if you haven't properly made note of the 110 wire and light locations. We had to fish around for the 110 wiring on two of our lights. That was time consuming and not fun. 2. With the light locations properly marked or located it is very to use a 6" hole saw to make a perfect cut in the ceiling. Then, reach in for the wire, connect inside of the provided junction box, connect the output wire to the light disc, insert the disc into the 6" hole and you are done. 3. If you want to use a dimmer switch, go with a Lutron LED compatible dimmer. that switch will go from 100% down to about 5% with no problems. 4. TORCHSTAR sells sells directly through Amazon and also as Amazon "other buying options." The prices may vary a few dollars but it's the same lights. I was able to buy all the lights we needed by buying from both locations. 5. The Electrician that installed my lights was impressed and is now buying these lights for some of his other customers. He liked the quality, ease of installation and the finished look,

Bright and dimmable. Includes most install parts except..........👀
These lights come with almost all of the parts you need to install. Junction box, wire connectors and screws. It does NOT come with the push in cable connectors which are required by code because the box is metal with sharp edges where the wire comes in. (See picture) I'd suggest taking the box to the blue or orange store to measure and make sure the connectors you buy fit. If you order them online it might not fit right. See my review this and you'll see why this one didn't fit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00422M1XG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ✔The twist-on wire connectors are adequate but since I wired six of these lights in parallel I used a little bigger size for the 3 12/3 wires on each connection. ⚡ If you wire in series it should be fine. Up to you. ✔Fortunately the first dimmer I tried worked well with these dimmable LEDs. I've read many reviews where some dimmers never seem to work properly. On the box there is a list of recommended dimmers to use by Lutron. We used this one: Lutron MACL-153M-WH Single Pole Dimmer. I actually used two dimmers split between 6 of these lights. Works very well. ✔The light is very thin as you can see in one of the pictures and has a easy plug in to the light. After you make a hole for the light just use the two clips on the back and they will hold it up in the sheetrock. ⚠ **Important** Even though the company calls these lights "6 inch" you will need a 6 3/8 hole saw. This will save you the trouble of using a 6 inch hole saw and then finding out you have to mess around with the sheetrock saw and make the hole just a little bit bigger to make them fit. MEASURE the lights yourself when you get them to make sure.👀 Likes: 1.) Most parts included for easy install. 2.) Rated to install next to insulation because they don't get hot like can lights. 3.) Nice and bright. 4.) Light is very thin and lightweight. (about one half inch) 5.) 4000K which is a nice whitish color for us. 6.) Enough room in box for parallel wiring using 12/3 Not a big deal but worth mentioning: 1.) Doesn't include push in cable connectors which are required by code for metal boxes. 2.) 6 inch light but you will need a 6 3/8 hole saw. 3.) Metal junction box is flimsy and have to bend latch to be sure cover closes.

Perfect flexible solution, great price, and code-compliant
its great to see a reasonably priced code-compliant version of this type of product (specifically, a dimmable version). The Junction Box differentiates it... others just have a plastic transformer that direct-wires to 120V. This is okay if you can tuck the plastic box into your own junction box. But, that adds time and cost. In my case (photos attached), this was a PERFECT solution for a low-clearance position where I hit a ceiling joist AND strapping right where i wanted to place a light to center it in the room and where changing the location would have been very obvious. The LED housing easily clears 1/2" drywall. (I used a standard 6" recessed light hole saw... beware that different light wattages appear to have different diameters) You just connect the romex, tuck the junction box up in the ceiling, then pop the light in! AWESOME! As long as the durability of the transformer electronics are good, I expect these to be in service for quite a while. Also, see my photo of the junction box.. the photos in the listing are a little misleading... the black/white/green leads are NOT outside the box (which would defeat the purpose of having the box in the first place). They appear to have thought it was more 'photogenic' to pose the wires like that... it almost caused me to NOT buy the product, but I am glad I presumed that the engineers knew what they were doing and the photographer did not. :-) I have these 12W units spaced 6ft apart on a ~7.5ft ceiling on a dimmer circuit.

Air tight improvement- just what I was looking for!
I noticed that my electricity bills were sky high and that my office smelled musty. I climbed up into the attic and recognized the same musty smell. I also noticed that the light from the office was almost as bright in the attic as it was down below in the office. Hmm, problem. I started doing research, lots of research and ultimately decided to try these as a solution. Have only installed one so far but I love it and it's going to solve the problems. The look is clean. The air quality is already improved. The light is nice, like daylight. The only thing I wish was that it came with a fireproof foam halo to go between the fixture and the visible ceiling. The baffle is a little narrower than my previous recessed light fixture and so there's a small ugly circle on the ceiling between where the old fixture was and where the new one sits. It would also make the air-tight seal better as the fixture does not have a foam liner.

BEST LIGHTS EVER - ANYONE CAN INSTALL THESE
In my opinion these lights are the BEST. I have purchased and installed 18 lights so far and will probably install more as I continue to update my home. I choose the 4000K because I didn't want the old soft (yellow) light and I am very pleased with the color. I cannot believe the improved color of every item in the room. It is a VERY noticeable improvement. It could not be easier to install these lights. I cut a 6-3/8 inch hole in the ceiling with a hole saw, snapped the junction box open, attached the wires, pushed the box in the hole and plugged in the light, clipped the light in the hole and that was it. No cans or anything else needed. I wired the lights to a Lutron Diva C.L dimmer so I could choose how much light I wanted in the room and it works perfect. No flickering ever. I would highly recommend these lights. If you want a soft (more yellow) light, get the 3000K but I love my 4000k and wouldn't change a thing.

Color temperature perfect, easy installation, durable fixtures. Installed these per my customer's request, and glad that I did!
These lights are fantastic! I'm a home improvement contractor and so I find myself in a lot of homes working with a lot of different types of lights. For the homeowner, I found that the color of the light was perfect (I installed the 3000k which I found indistinguishable from incandescent - and I'm pretty OCD about color temp). I wasn't sure about the low-profile/flush design at first but they look really, really nice. I was very satisfied with how they turned out. Photos forthcoming. Contractors: Great to work with - each unit comes with light, box, wire nuts. Box is really just large enough for fixture leads + 2x14. You've got about a 6" wire lead from box to fixture, which connects via proprietary twist-lock connector. Best part - the fixture will clear 1/2" drywall and still install flush - you shouldn't need to worry about joist location with these. I used Lutron Maestro CFL/LED dimmer which worked perfectly. I'll be trying to push these to all of my customers who want recessed lighting going forward.

Great Quality, Very Warm, Very Bright - Pleasantly Surprised
Excellent Lights. Just a heads up, these are very warm. Warmer than 3000K. Realistically 2500-2700K. They did not match the rest of the 3000K bulbs in my house, so I went ahead and ordered a set of the 4000K, hoping they'd be closer. They weren't. The 4000K were much bluer than my existing lights, so I had to return them and stick with the 3000K. My wife says to just deal with it. I had an issue with one of the J-Box assemblies not sending power to the LED panel. It must have had a faulty voltage regulator inside the junction box. One thing I will say is, make sure the dimmer switch you are using is high quality rated for LED bulbs. The first dimmer I tried to use ($15 Leviton brand from Home Depot) worked, but made the bulbs flash on the lowest setting. I ordered a $25 Lutron CL series dimmer (as the company recommends) and it is spectacular. They dim almost to the point where there is no light without any flickering. I am extremely happy with these and plan to order more in the future.
