Excellent product! Super easy to hold as the weight is taken off your hands, which is fantastic for long jobs. I was nervous about it having no whisk seeing as I do a lot with egg whites but it works better than any other hand mixer I’ve used. The slow setting is actually slow which is rare, even among other high-end hand mixers. I don’t make a mess with flour anymore. And the speed is easily adjustable with the same hand I hold it with. Perhaps someone with exceptionally small hands may have a hard time reaching the dial with there thumb, but I have no issue whatsoever. There is actually an eject button, which I appreciate. I hate the hand mixers without the eject button as I find the beaters to fall out too often. It also sits up easily on its rear end so the beaters don’t have to touch the counter when you want to put it down (which for me, being a neat freak is a big deal). Far less of a mess. My only very minor critique: I wish the speed was slightly faster. But, it has so much power and the beater is so well shaped it hardly matters. It still outdoes the competition for getting egg whites to stiff peaks and doing heavier doughs. The beaters are nice and sturdy as well. They will plow through heavy doughs easily. I love the mixer. I would easily buy it over Cuisinart or KitchenAid every time!

My last mixer may have been a little faster at highest speed. But I'll take this one any time because the start speed is slow and I can control it. My last one the lowest speed was TOO fast. From reviews I've read about mixers it sounds like most of them are that way now. But since I got this one I will never put up with a mixer that I cannot control the start up speed. I love the way I can just turn the dial for speed and it goes faster the more I turn it at a very smooth rate of fast. And though it does not seem to be going as fast as some, the food is mixed actually in less time. One of the reasons I got this mixer was because of the beaters. they are slightly longer than some and they have a guard that keeps food from getting up inside of the mixer. We use natural peanut butter that has to be stirred. Most beater won't reach the bottom of the peanut butter jar. And caused a very messy job when we mixed it. I use the dough hooks and they reach the bottom, and the guard keeps the peanut butter out. And the peanut butter is stirred twice as fast with this mixer! That one thing makes this one the BEST ever for me.

Powerful! Light! Amazing! I have purchased so many handheld mixers on amazon and this is the winner hands down this thing is powerful it got through my thick buttercream frosting and I absolutely love the speed adjustment it’s so easy to use you can adjust the speed without turning the machine off love, love, love it!

Used it for multiple cake mixes. Works great and is easy to clean. Just throw them in the dishwasher and you are done. I was worried that the beaters would be weak because the product picture made them look wirey but they are solid like normal shaped beaters- I hit them against the bottom of the bowl and scraped the batter off the edges and they weren't phased at all. Very kid friendly!! I like how I can slowly pulse the mix to get an initial blend to keep flour from going everywhere. I store the beaters in the little black bag that comes with the mixer. Registration was easy: I took a picture of the card that came in the box, messaged it to the number, and the number replied back with a link where all the info was auto filled out. Will update if I run into any problems!

I was looking for a hand held mixer and was seriously considering the Cuisinart or the Kitchen Aid Brands. I wanted a mixer that had adequate power as well as a controllable slow speed. Based on reviews for both models either there was too much power that threw batter all over the place or there was too little power. One review mentioned the Braun Hand mixer and to my surprise 95% of the reviews rated it as a 4 or 5 rating, something not seen very often. Ultimately I purchased this unit and am very impressed. It has a 350 Watt motor and a rotating dial to control speed from a slow speed to Turbo. A safety feature is incorporated so that if mixing blades are not inserted properly, or, not inserted, the on switch will not move to the on position. Another feature that my wife likes is that the mixer can be set aside on its base with the blades in a horizontal position when a brief pause in mixing is required. This is a very nice, German Engineered handheld mixer.

I replaced my 20 year old hand mixer with this new Braun. I particularly wanted it for the dough hooks since I make bread every week. After doing a lot of research on which mixers were powerful enough to withstand kneading whole wheat dough, I chose the Braun. It is amazing! It is very easy to use, comes with beaters, dough hooks, and the model I bought also has a mini blender/chopper. The motor is powerful and does not lag even with stiff dough. Best mixer I've ever used. Highly recommend!

I've only had this a few months, but have used it often, so durability I am unable to say much about at this time. I love this mixer. The speeds work great. Slow when you need it, high when you need it, in between when you need it. It seems a bit awkward to hold at times but I have pretty small hands. It stands well and stores well and works great. Just what I was hoping it would be!

So to be sure this is my second Braun Multimix. I was the proud owner of their 880 version that is many years old and I have been looking for a suitable replacement as getting parts for the older one is difficult. When I saw this one available I was thinking it is the answer. I thought the old attachments would work with this new model, but sadly only the beater bars do. The stick and chopper cup attachments from the older version of the Braun Multimix do not work with this newer version. With all that aside let's talk about the new one. The Good The upgraded motor is excellent where the older model would get extremely hot after prolonged use. This one is cool and much quieter. Also did not have to go to full power to get the same job done as where the older one you had to go full. They have added dough hooks which is a good addition. The redesigned chopper cup is quieter and larger capacity than the old model. The Bad No immersion stick available in the US yet. Think that may be coming next year some time. A little pricey in comparison to other mixers, but the last Multimix I had lasted over 15 years. So if all stays the same then diffinitely well worth the price. Overall this one is much improved over the older Multimix and 5 stars from me.

My son gave me a Braun's just like this many years ago & I was amazed at the features...especially the chopper attachment . You can do so much without pulling out a heavy chopper. Mine was finally loosing power to turn beaters and I so feared it would be impossible to replace it with the chopper attachment. Found it and the chopper bowl is slightly larger! Hope this one lasts me as long as the first one. One more thing, I have arthritis in my hands. The new model has a dial on top where you can adjust the speed by turning with one hand and continue to hold the mixer and beat with the other hand.

BOTTOM LINE: This Braun HM5100 mixes like nobody's business and is easy to use, clean up & store. My wife is happy. Happy wife = happy life! :-D THOUGHTS: I purchased this Braun HM5100 to replace my wife's ancient hand mixer, (which was originally her mother's and had to be at least 40 years old), when it finally gave up the ghost earlier this year. After doing a LOT of research online for the best overall value (motor power/features/user rating) I kept coming back to this unit from Braun. They generally have a solid reputation for their line of various appliances. (Braun offers a half dozen attachments which are powered by the motor of this mixer but we didn't need them, so I bought just the mixer itself.) This Braun mixer is solidly built, (dare I say, brawny?) without feeling heavy as a brick. This was a big area of concern for my wife; we also have one of those Godzilla-sized KitchenAid tabletop tilt mixers. It works awesome and we bring it out for our annual Christmas cookie bakes and the like but other than that we rarely use it because it weighs a TON & hogs up waaay too much of our precious, limited countertop space. Balance for this HM5100 is slightly forward of the front of the grip, where your first finger rests, so it naturally tilts the business end right into the bowl. Top & Bottom sections of the handle area of the mixer have dimpled rubbery plastic inserts to provide better grip when mixing, which comes in handy, (especially if your hands are slick from cooking spray, vegetable oil, egg whites, etc.). Power cord is longer than her old mixer's (over 5ft.!) and the end where the cord fits into the mixer body is thickly sheathed, to resist cracking & internal wire breakage and/or separating from the mixer body. The cord also has a neat swivel feature; it free floats or can be 'snapped' into either a vertical or horizontal position. Clever. The light weight wire beaters with plastic inserts initially gave me pause but they work great compared to the wider 'blade' style beaters of her old mixer. Fit is snug with zero wobble while mixing, plus clean up is a breeze. They are designed to fit in the mixer only one way: insert end of one beater is hexagon-shaped, the other is round. These have corresponding hexagon/round holes molded into the mixer body, making correct beater insertion fairly idiot-proof. (Whether or not the plastic pieces of these beaters will hold up over the years obviously remains to be seen.) The large ON/OFF switch on the top of the mixer has a raised rib to make it easier to thumb it on and off... and it has an interesting safety feature: it will not stay in the 'ON' position unless the beaters are fully locked into the mixer. Speed control is a large rotary dial which adjusts easily with either the thumb of the hand holding the mixer or your 'free' hand. Slick & simple. The mixer is surprisingly quiet considering the powerful motor in it; hasn't bogged down even slightly at any of the speed settings, whether mixing cookies, thick brownie mix or even bread dough. (BTW, the dough hooks seem well designed & built and are equally easy to insert/remove & clean up). Mixer body cleaned up easily with just a warm damp dishrag. Unit comes with a black cloth canvas-type drawstring bag to hold the beaters & dough hooks. Overall, we really like this mixer and I’m glad I bought it, as I use it almost as often as my wife does. In fact my only real complaint is strictly cosmetic: the mixer only comes in black. (Wife would've preferred white or red.) But that's a VERY minor grump. So far my wife & I have been very pleased with this Braun HM5100 and would recommend it to anyone out there looking for their first hand mixer, or as a replacement or upgrade.
