Better than an actual stove

Amazing. Our building has been out of gas for 4 months so we bought a cheap coil burner at first but that died really quickly - took 20 mins to fry an egg... so we got 2 of these induction burners instead and they are heaven sent. Can finally cook! They heat up sooo fast! You can do anything with them. They are honestly better than the gas stove. Might just continue using these even if the gas comes back on.

Works amazingly well

I have really enjoyed this product. I got tired of driving back home remember if I turn it off the burner of the stove. I got this for making eggs in the morning or making pasta. And heats up amazingly quickly and brings things to a boil much faster than electric stove. It's quite easy to wipe off and tuck away for its next use. It was one of the least expensive but assuming it holds up, I am delighted with the purchase. Just remember that you have to have compatible cookware. I was surprised that one of my pots that had a silver bottom didn't have enough metal in it to work. Make sure you check the bottom of your pots with a magnet to make sure it's compatible before you purchase

Excellent unit for price

I bought this for use during kitchen renovation. This heats cookware quickly. I've used cast iron, carbon steel and ferromagnetic stainless cookware without any problem. The cooktop itself cools off quickly once the power is off and the pot/pan is removed. So far so good. Works as stated. Looks quite nice as well. Timer cook function is big plus when I need to go out or have a nap. After a dinner or two it will pay for itself versus going to a hotpot restaurant!

Slick design, nice induction buner.

I loved it, slick design, nice induction portable burner for hot pot stainless steel,but I don't want to buy more cast iron, stainless or magnet pots that work with this item. Return it to buy get another one that work with my pots already had.

Best induction cooktop ever!!

Have been using this for a couple weeks now.I like that it has a timer/shutoff feature and it's a sleek look.It heats very evenly and works out well as an alternate cook source when making several items.

I kept saying "WOW"!

This is the perfect induction cooktop. It's high quality-made. It heats up instantly and is easy to adjust temperature. I like that temperatures can be exact, like 360 degree for cooking candy. I kept saying wow because this cooktop has amazing safety features- it knows when you lift the cookware and turns off in 30 secs if not placed back, it boils in less than a minute and stops instantly if turn off (like magic!). POSSIBLE ISSUE: THIS ONLY WORKS WITH STAINLESS STEEL OR CAST IRON COOKWARE. It knows the difference without fail, and if you don't have the right cookware, the machine will just beep for 30 sec and turn off repeatedly. MUST HAVE RIGHT COOKWARE!

Very pleased with the purchase.

I cook a lot of steaks and seering them can create a lot of smoke. I wanted something light and simple to cook right outside my back door that I could easily being back inside. It gets hot really fast. Seers a steak perfectly at 420 degrees with my small iron skillet. It maintains temp beautifully and cools down quickly when finished. I would also use it to cook anything that I didn't want a lingering smell in the house such as fish. I like it a whole lot more than I expected I would. It's very easy to clean and also reduces grease in the kitchen. It seems it would be very beneficial for traveling or as an extra burner when needed Inside as well.

Good Product/Better/Poor customer service. (Update)

2nd Edit: I originally reviewed one star, then upped it to three due to the fact the manufacturer did reply in attempt to make it right. Now I received the replacement and I upped it to five stars. I use this with a cast iron skillet. I put it on the highest setting of 460. As it increased in temp the lights along the bottom came on showing the current temp, and I checked with my instruments and it was pretty consistent. I left in on 460 for a while and the skillet even heated up a little over 480 which is good because that type of metal absorbs heat well. It works great, the other one was probably a lemon. Apparently the reason seller never got back to me was some kind of glitch, whatever that means? But in the end they made it right, so I updated my review and left my previous comments for you to see. There are a lot of fake and incentivised reviews on Amazon, I don't like that and have qualms about a lot of purchases due to that fact, and I thought this was another example. In this case the product is good, and this review is fully deserved. Edit: Manufacturer reached out and apologized for not getting back to me right away, said they had a glitch. They are resending the updated model. I bumped them up from 1 star to 3 for now being part of the review was based on customer service. Once I receive the new item I will update again. Perhaps this was just a faulty unit, it happens, but the company should stand behind it, so far looks like they have. Old Review: I purchased this to use with my cast iron skillet out side when I use it for burgers or steaks and such things that might get smokey and set of my smoke detectors. I have a charcoal grill but that takes a while to get going so this would be nice and quick. I usually heat up my pan on a gas stove to about 500 degrees surface temp, which I validate with a laser temperature gun. On this burner it would not go above about 315 degrees, even when set to max temp which should be about 490, or even set to the 460 degree option which is the highest temp setting. I verified that with a thermocouple I have as well. I'm not usually one to go out of my way to write a bad review, it could be a defective unit or something, easy to return with Amazon. The straw that broke the camels back is that when the it arrived I received a follow up email from the seller (manufacturer), saying if I have any problem or need help to let them know and they would assist right away. So before initiating the return, I replied to that email and told them the problem and asked if they had any suggestions. A week later and no answer. I checked and the message did go through. So I guess it was just a rouse to make it look like they have good customer service and care, but that really isn't the case. Which is what prompted me to not only return the item, but write this review.

Great cooktop.

This induction cooktop works great. Just what we needed when replacing the stove and had no stove top. Plus you can run it from a generator if the power is out.
