Finally a toy that my baby thinks it is a real one, no other toys I have tried actually made him stay away from the real tv controllers, this one does not look much kiddy, my baby for some reason avoids kid toys and craves adult like stuff, this one I left it with the real ones, he went to grab them as usual, I said no and took the real ones away making it look like I forgot this VTech behind, he kept watching it, I said no again and he grabbed it. Started playing with it and I kept doing the same as it wasn't meant for him, he fell for it and always goes grab the vtech and keeps it. Strategy did not work with other toys, this one did make the deal easier.

This toy is such a huge hit in the one day that we've owned it that my 4 year old keeps sneaking it out of my baby's pack n play to press all the buttons. She's too old for this kind of toy but seems to love ALL the different options for noise that this thing makes. My son is 7 months old and unbelievably prefers this fake remote to the 2 real ones we use in our living room that he darts after every time he sees them. The kids start out young with technology today, haha. I appreciate that the voice used for the songs isn't as annoying as other VTech toys we've owned over the years. Already I've memorized all the phrases and words that this colorful remote offers and it's only been a day and a half. Not that there are so few options, rather that my kids will not stop playing with this toy, even though we have many alternatives to choose from.

My 9 month old son loves it. He is always interested in TV remote control and cellphones, he grabs it from my hand. I pretend that I hold it like a real remote control and he grabs it. I accidentally dropped it on the floor and it is still working . The volume is loud enough for the infant to hear. There are two control for the volume.

So I purchased this because, frankly, I was tired of our daughter chewing out remotes. She sees we use them and then wants them. And then the only she knows what to do with them is chew them. We’ve had to replace two remotes so far from slobber damage. So I purchased this to get her to maybe have her own remote. Surprising, it works. To an extent. The buttons aren’t soft. They are a hard plastic so it doesn’t make for good chewing. But it keeps her occupied now. She can press the buttons. It will say volume up or down. Change the channels. And it’s cute. Bad Side: taught her how to actually use the remote. And now if we are not watching her, she will turn up the volume all the way on the tv. ;)

I know I'm not the only parent out there who was looking for a distraction from the real remote! This toy has worked well so far -- it's appearance, light up features, and remote-like buttons have convinced our 6 month old that this remote must surely be just as yummy as the real thing. I really like that there are no stickers that could easily peel away with drool and the easily accessible on/off switch. Tip: We keep this toy with our remotes (instead of the toy box) and occasionally pretend to use it ourselves... just in case his little mind catches on to us! :)

My 14 month old twins LOVE this remote! The songs are funny enough to be entertaining for adults which makes it a noisy toy that doesn't drive me completely nuts. "So many channels to watch, so little time!" lyric is my favorite :) Lots of buttons that all say something different. Lights flash too. They've dropped it on tile a bunch, so far no cracks in the plastic. Arrived quickly and on time!

The first night with this remote, my baby didn't know what to make of it. He just watched it. Now? It's not out of his sight. He takes it with him as he crawls about the living room. He's played with it so much I sing the songs from it, which aren't annoying like some baby toy songs are. As my son has gotten a little bit older, he's trying to use it on the TV, which is adorable. And, the best of all, it means he's not using the regular remote, so I don't have to worry about it! This is a great baby toy. For reference, my baby is 6-12 months.

My 8 month old daughter was always stealing our remote and playing with it (and our phones) so I decided to get her her own remote. I swear, this thing is absolutely worth it's weight in gold now. Lol other than the fact the default song will get stuck in your brain and you'll wanna drop kick it, its great. But, I'm pretty sure that's the case with any singing child's toy. Anyway, my daughter absolutely loves the flashing lights and sounds. Plus... She no longer reaches for our remote.

I was debating whether to purchase this Vtech toy remote control over the Fisher-Price one and ultimately what swayed me was the color and look of this one--the remote controls we happen to have in our house, that my eight month old son loves to grab and play with at any chance, are all black, whereas the Fisher-Price remote is gray. I wanted one that was as similar as possible to our "real" remotes. This play remote is really fun, with lots of buttons to press, and tons of different responses and songs. It even feels like a real remote when I pick it up and pretend to change channels just for fun sometimes before handing it to my son. I like that it has two different volume levels and fun colored flashing lights, and that the the buttons mimic actual real-life remote ones such as volume up and down control, up and down channel buttons, on and off buttons, number keys. Sure, some of the phrases may seem like they're encouraging TV watching (as I've read from other reviews here before purchasing, and listening to it myself) but really, my eight month old baby is not going to end up a couch potato TV addict because of some sing-songy repetitions on a toy ;) --that will be solely based on my parenting choices, so I'm not too worried about that aspect!

My daughter was obsessed with our TV remote so I bought her this and pretended she wasn't allowed to have it (you know, some reverse psychology lol). She LOVES it now!
