We got several of these bags for a recent trip where we flew and then lived out of a van - we needed lightweight luggage that wold pack down easily. These did just that. Loved the variety of colors which meant easy differentiation between family members. Carried on and checked, and they stood up really well. Bonus - I thought I'd never be able to actually fold them back down into their pocket, that it would be way too complicated...it's not! Super simple, which makes them easy to store as well.

I recently purchased a few foldable/packable Travel duffel bags, including the Gonex 40L Travel Duffel bag. It's definitely lightweight (but not cheaply made). It looks like it would be tear resistant. The zippers are of very good quality. I actually managed to refold it into the built-in zippered pouch without instructions. That's nearly impossible with other bags. This bag is a good value for the price. We will use this bag to temporarily store dirty clothes on our next cruise, and then on the trip home, we'll pack purchased items in the bag. The bag's a little large to qualify as a "personal item" on flights, but it's definitely "carry-on" size. So I'll slip this bag over the telescoping handle of my rolling laptop case for my return flight. I highly recommend this bag, but I encourage Gonex to make a 30L bag that would qualify as a "personal item" on flights.

I bought two sizes, the 80L (purple) and the 40L (green) for an overseas trip and they performed great. Lots of room, held up well with all the jostling, and I love the 'shoe' compartment - I kept the things I wanted within easy reach while using it as a carry-on.

What could be better than to reach into your overstuffed bag and pull out a compact pouch that unzips to reveal a bigger and stronger extra bag? As a newcomer to Gonex products I am very happy with the quality of construction, the materials used and the overall design. I will probably buy a few more packing cubes to dedicate to this duffel also. The bags are economical enough to get a few extras for other unforseen events and to dedicate color coded bags for specific purposes

I bought this for a vacation we were going on. When we got to the airport one of our suitcases was too heavy and we were going to get charge more to check it. Thankfully i had thrown this in the suitcase in case we bought any large souvenirs. We were able to use this bag to take out the extra weight and it fit perfectly under the seat in the airplane and in the overhead bin. I'm thinking about buying an additional one.

Went on a trip recently where no hand luggage was allowed on the flight except a personal item. I worked out that I could take everything I needed inside a backpack, but this would have been rather overstuffed and awkward to carry around for a week. So I took this duffel bag in its folded, flattened state and threw that into the backpack (it fit easily). When I reached the destination I popped out the compressed duffel bag, opened it up and used it as my main travel bag for the rest of the vacation. Interestingly, I had done the precise opposite earlier in the year: I took a Gonex duffel bag onto the flight, but also took their backpack (30L Daypack) folded up which I used for day trips during the vacation. So I've now achieved the Double Gonex: backpack taken inside duffel bag, duffel bag taken inside backpack.

Keep one of these in your suitcase in the event that you buy stuff while you are traveling. It will prevent the "baggage fee" that airlines hose you for if you go over 50lbs. United hit me for $200 -- yes TWO HUNDRED dollars -- for going 11 lbs over. This bag traveled with me all around Peru . Lots of pockets, huge shoe compartment, folds up small. Very strong handles and ripstop fabric. Fits in the airplane overhead bins. I did not test water resistance, but I would not expect it to keep water out. very well.

In August on trip to Greece I ended up purchasing a ton of items throughout my Island travels and was forced to buy a cheap duffel bag from a store in Santorini. On the way back home I realized that a packable duffel bag was exactly what I needed. I saw a few different models on Amazon and ultimately decided between the Amazon Basics bag and the Gonex. The Amazon Basics bag was very good quality, however it was exactly that, basic. Plus the way it was packed was a bit bulgy and would definitely be a bit of a pain carrying. The Gonex on the other hand was easy to pack, had a nice soft shoulder pad, has quality construction and most importantly handy. I used it on a trip to Amsterdam last week and it was perfect! Highly recommended!

I bought this bag because it’s compact, great size when in use and lightweight. It’s a lightweight duffle bag that can be folded into a small little pouch when not in use. This duffle bag has been used in so many different ways since I’ve had it, from RV trips to motorcycle trips. RV Trip: I wasn’t going to be able to bring my big hard luggage with me on my RV trip as there is no room for that. I packed my clothes in my gonex packing cubes I own and then nicely put the cubes in the duffle bag. These gonex bags have helped me stay organized. Once I unloaded in the RV I realized I don’t need to unpack, I just stuffed my gonex packing cubes in the drawers and lived out of the gonex packing cubes. Then I folded the duffle bag into its pouch and then tucked it away. I did take the duffle bag out halfway during our trip to put our dirty laundry in and then carried it to the laundry mat. Motorcycle Overnighters: This is a great duffle bag when I’m on our long motorcycle trips. I pack our clothes in our gonex packing cubes and the duffle bag is folded into a nice small pouch and packed away until we arrive at our hotel. The duffle bag comes out and all the packing cubes and everything else like Ipad, chargers, etc gets put into the duffle bag. That way I don’t have to go back and forth between the bike and the hotel room to move stuff and everything is put into the duffle bag and off I go. This duffle bag is going is to Europe on a 3 week motorcycle trip soon. The duffle bag will be used as a carryon luggage and in it, will be my motorcycle helmet and some packing cubes of clothes just in case the airline loses the luggage. This duffle bag has been used many times and thrown around that it’s still in great shape. It’s a great bag, don’t hesitate to get one if you need something compact, lightweight and in expensive.

I’m 70 years old and had back surgery last spring. I need a suitcase I can handle on my own. This plus a lightweight backpack were perfect for me for a 5 day road trip and I’m thinking of using it the next time I travel by plane. I also used the Gonex 3 piece packing cubes to organize the inside. The trick, of course, is to be careful about what I take with me, but that’s my issue, not the duffle bag’s. The shoulder strap doesn’t work well for me because I’m short and also didn’t want to load my shoulders. I was able to easily carry the bag using the handles. The shoe pouch was cumbersome and hard to use and pretty much useless to me. I tried to put a pair of sandals in it and it was hard to get even those small items into it. I used that zippered pouch for things I accumulated but didn’t need to access—small souvenirs, receipts, but don’t think I would use it for shoes. Even with that, this is a 5 star bag for me—something I’ve been wanting for a long time.
