Unit is compact, very light, and well made; supports a total of 900 mA which is what a USB 3.0 Port can supply; if you have USB 2.0 ports, be careful that the total of all the devices plugged into this hub is 500 mA or less; there is a chart which lists a few common devices but you can check how much current a device is drawing by opening: Control Panel --> Device Manager --> Universal Serial Bus Controllers --> Select the port or hub --> select the Power Tab. You may have to select a few before you find the one you are interested in. When I selected the first "Generic Port" it listed the items plugged into the hub: the wireless mouse receiver at 100 mA and the same for the keyboard receiver. I have a video card plugged into another port by itself, it shows 500 mA. Remember that though the hub will support 900 mA...if your computer has USB 2.0 ports, ONLY plug in a max of 500 mA in devices into the hub. (I have windows 7, so if your OS is different, the method of examining the ports may be different.) In my application, I have the laptop on a shelf and the wireless mouse was not working well; with the receiver plugged into the hub and the hub "dangling on its 6" cord, the receiver is now 10" closer to the mouse and it works fine. Cons; product description did not indicate total mA supported by this device; also a caution about using it only for 500 mA max (USB 2.0) or 900 mA max (USB 3.0) would have been very appropriate in the buying description.

I have a smaller laptop with only three USB 3.0 ports. One is always used by my mouse's receiver, and I sometimes nees two USB drives simultaneously, but I didn't want to be tapped out. This AUKEY USB hub was reviewed very well and has a nice layout of ports, so I ordered it. The size is perfect for sitting on a desk and fits neatly inside my litte ProCase cable organizer. The hub feels solid and as a good weight for its size...I hate when a cabled device is feather light and moves about with little force, but that's not a problem with this hub. The hub and connector both have the same aluminum construction and finish, and the cable is very nice as well, both in finish and flexibility. I'm a high quality oriented guy, and this is a fine product that checks all of the boxes. Well done, AUKEY.

Great little addition to my laptop travel bag. This USB hub works great. Absolutely no problems at all. I am using a new laptop with USB 3.0 so that may help. Regardless I quickly loaded 4 devices to it; 1) Headset charger for my wireless headset, 2) wireless receiver for my keyboard and mouse (combined), 3) portable video/audio camera, and 4) Power charger for phone or iPad. Best I can tell the ports all work equally as well either directly into the computer or using this hub. As a test I ran all my connected devices at the same time to see if their was any degradation in performance. Whether attached to the hub or directly attached to the computer port one at a time, best I could tell it made no difference in performance. Portable, slim, lightweight design that's both easy to transport and looks nice sitting on a desk. This device is highly recommended.

I like this little USB Hub and the ability to turn on/off each port. It has the ability to be powered with an AC adapter which I may or may-not use in the future but nice to know that is an option. I've only had it for a few days but it's working perfectly with mu laptop ( win10), printer and additional external drives.

I recently switched from using a computer most of the time to switching to my laptop. The biggest issue I've had so far was of course, USB ports. Or rather, the lack of them. Only having 3 USBs on my laptop, I was severely limited and often had to switch out to what I would like to plug in or what was more important. So I ended up buying this USB hub. Unlike USB 3.0 hubs I've tried in the past, this one works very well. I bought 2 of these hubs, and I've got one plugged into the other, effectively giving me an additional 7 free USB 3.0 ports. To my surprise, it appears that the data transfer rate is not impacted by this configuration. Transfers are fast and reliable. I've copied several terabytes from one external drive to another, both of which were connected via the AUKEY USB hubs, without a single hiccup. I also tried a test case wherein I had 3 separate large file copies in progress, at the same time, between 3 different external drives, and everything worked! Of course, the transfer rate for each individual copy was slower, but, in the aggregate, the USB 3.0 data rate was maintained. From my testing, the hub works fantastically with no input lag or disconnects while playing with four players at once. Another review said that the hub would disconnect all devices connected briefly if the hub was moved slightly, but I cannot replicate that myself and it works just fine while moving it around. The USB hub seems like it will last a good while due to its sturdy construction. The four power slots for each USB port is a good feature, but I will likely just leave them on permanently as I have no use for turning a port on or off. Overall, I'm exceedingly pleased with this product. Nicely made, very attractive and low-profile, and, best of all, it works really well. I will be purchasing an additional one of these for my other laptop.

I bought this to replace another mini hub that, after a snap sound, will no longer fit my thumb drives. Got the package and was very surprised by the very nice packaging they used. It felt like a premium product right away. Opening it up, the device is in fact metal and feels very nice. Cable is long enough if it is right by your laptop, if you are using it for a desktop and it is on the floor you will need a USB extension. This does exactly what it's supposed to do and the thumb drives fit it. It has a little bit of weight to it, so it won't flop around like my white mini hub did. Plugged it right in and everything worked like a charm.

Very well built usb hub. The last one I carried in my laptop bag was made out of plastic and cracked. I don't see that happening with the aluminum body. All four ports work and no issues plugging in devices/cables into any of the ports. I'll probably pick up a second one just to keep at home!

If I am trying to use more than a regular keyboard and mouse, there are no other USB outlets to handle things such as bluetooth connection to printer. This USB hub is compact for easy transport in my backpack, matches the laptop, and is easy to use. The cord length is enough to let the hub sit comfortably on the the desk, but short enough to not get in the way. The box it comes in if compact, and makes a nice carry case, if you want to keep it protected from dust, etc. The USB port on the end was a bit stiff at first, but other than that, it's perfect.

Originally brought 2 of these 4 months ago for me and my wife's laptops to expand the existing USB ports from 3 to 7 (A HP Pavilion DVT8-1200 and a Dell XPS Studio 1747) for wifi dongles, mouse, keyboard and normal flash drives (The ports on the Laptops are USB 2.0). Being happy with the results of the original 2 we ended up buying 4 more for 3 of our Laptops (2 of them being new) and 1 desktop (also new). The new Laptops with only having 2 USB Ports if you are lucky really helps gets the productivity out of our Laptops. This is a solid USB hub. It's purpose is simple yet important, and the design reflects that. The length of the cord that connects it to the computer is just short enough to not feel like it's in the way, and just long enough to give you a little bit of freedom in how you organize your workspace. All in all, I have to say that this hub has been very helpful to me, and has solved several problems.

Bought this usb hub as I ran out of usb space on Macbook pro laptop. Currently using it to hook my wireless mouse and keyboard. Size: very small and slim. For me I was concerned about the issue of whether I can still use the usb hub for wireless devices as there has been concerns raised by others that usb 3.0 can interfere with wireless signals and not so with usb 2.0. I have to say that this true, but with certain devices. As I am typing on the keyboard (Microsoft natural keyboard), I have not noticed any lag. The only lag that has been apparent is the initial start up lag, which is normal on the most part with these devices. Regarding the wireless mouse, it depends upon the mouse. I used the XX ergonomic wireless mouse on this hub and did not have any trouble. However, when I switched to the EV ergonomic mouse there was a significant amount of lag when I scrolled. There was no lag or jumping around of the mouse cursor, though. This works as expected and is much more reliable than the powered one I bought a few years ago. I put drives, another hub, and even a USB monitor on it with no issues. A well thought out product that I am proud to own!
