Works as advertised
Seems to be working. The water level in the bucket has dropped significantly and the soil is moist.

Really works great !!
I was gone for 3 weeks & my plants are alive & well !! Be sure to sit it up a few days before you leave & put enough of the spikes in your planters. I sat the bowls of water on a bench & the plants on the floor. There was some water left in each bowl. What a wonderful find !

Kept most plants alive
We were going to be gone for 3 weeks, and I worried about keeping my plants alive, especially my African violets. I followed the directions and tried the spikes out ahead of time, and they worked fine. When we returned from vacation, all my plants were alive and well but one (the water supply to that one had dried up). I was very pleased with the spikes and will definitely use them again if we are going to be gone for an extended period of time.

Good automatic watering stakes
I like them. Kinda confusing instructions but you can figure it out.

Very Happy
The items came when they should have. The box was a little battered but the contents were undamaged. I followed the directions on the box and on the You-Tube videos and was successful in getting the waterers to work. At first they took more water than I expected but after a week have leveled out and seem to be watering the plants properly. Apparently my plants were under watered. Larger pots do need two if you have more than one plant in the large pot. The only negative I have about the product is the little tubes are very kinky when you take then off of the ceramic part. I tried hot water as some had suggested. The thing that worked for me was to hang them over a towel rack for 24 hrs, that took most of the kink out. I got these for a month long vacation, will update after my return. I do agree with others that you should get these a few weeks before you leave on vacation so your plants are fully watered by these little wonders when you leave so they won't suck up a lot of water just trying to get 'fully watered' and not have enough to last until you return. I'm already considering just leaving them in and filling the jugs as needed.

Works like it should
I ordered these because I was going away for 10 days and didn't want my basil plants to die. They are in self watering planters, but they aren't very impressive. These did the trick perfectly. When I came back the big water containers I had put the little wick in were almost empty and my plants looked perfectly fine. I'm going to keep using these because I love the idea of my plants getting exactly how much water they need and no more. Bought them for vacation, keeping them for good. They aren't "pretty" but I'm growing basil, I'm not growing it for looks, so the slight unsightliness doesn't bother me in the slightest. If you care about your plants looking perfect, probably skip this for daily use. If you're in it for the plant health, these are perfect.

Great product. My plant is thriving!
Love this product. Works very well if you follow the instructions before applying spike into the plants soil. My plant is thriving! I have applied this to healthy plant that needs moist soil and did not realize how much water it took out of the cup of water i used to test the hydro spike. I recommend purchasing. Great for short vacations

Great for vacation watering.
This watering device is great for extended time watering. I have tried 2 spikes in a one gallon bucket and they have kept those 2 plants correctly watered for 2 days. I will be using these watering spikes/tubes while on vacation for 10 days by placing tubes in a 5-gallon bucket to water 6 plants. I’m very satisfied.

Work as Described for Me
I have these taking in water from a big water container, then watering my flowers. Work like a charm. Soil never dries out as long as the water tank has water. See the picture.
