Such fun!

Okay, we've only had these set up for a day, but it's such fun to say, "Alexa, turn on cabinet lights!" and have her turn them on and say, "Okay." We had a set of LED under-cabinet lights installed, but we had to open the cabinet and fumble around for the in-line switch to turn them on. Now we just tell our Echo to do it, and it's done! We're using them for all kinds of hard-to-reach switches, including a lamp and the Christmas tree lights. Oh, and the kids and hubby were telling Alexa to turn the lights off and on, and I was sitting on the couch with my phone and turning them BACK on and off and listening to them say, "What!?!" Finally I laughed out loud and they figured it out.

OMG is so cute!! I loved it n it really works! My house turned into wireless smart home n I really loved it, it’s very adorable smart plugs very responsive n works on time, I can also ask Alexa to control my lights too, overall it’s very cute thanks! I’m ordering more more right now! 😀💗

Amazing!

2/16/19 - Originally purchased (2) 4-packs. Have since purchased one more 4-pack. Setup very flaky (as described below), but once set up they work GREAT! In addition to Christmas lights, I use them for lamps in my house--can turn on and off remotely and can set up timers in the app. Figured out how to delete scenes (had to swipe them off the screen in the app). I am starting to wonder about UL certification. There is no indication on the units nor the packaging that these units are UL listed. Wondering what sense of assurance we have that these units are safe. ---------------- 11/30/18 - Love how well these work. Using them to control Christmas lights in my house. Enjoy turning the lights off and on all at once when walking the dog. Also have one on the coffee maker so that when we leave the house, and are unsure if we turned off the coffee maker, we can just turn off the outlet with our phone. Setup was a little flaky. Had to connect my phone to the 2.4GHz wi-fi. Then, when setting up each plug, our wi-fi network would go haywire for a short time--all devices on the network would lose connection. Also, each plug seemed to behave slightly differently when connecting. However, once they were set up, they work great! (Now, if I could figure out how to remove some scenes I erroneously set up in the Smart Life app, I would be thrilled. It does not appear that I can delete those scenes.)

Good range, working well so far

I've been using 10 of these on a daily basis for about three weeks now. Flawless. They have a good wifi range and set up is easy. None if them is operating under a heavy load, maybe 2 amps max of Christmas lights. Most are a lot less. But they work consistently and interface well with Alexa. A couple are in use outdoors in dry but very cold locations - no problems. The smart life app is easy to use, albeit with some fuzzy Chinese translations. In general, these have been more reliable than some of my zwave/smart things devices. I would strongly recommend using these on an isolated wifi ssid or guest network. They only like 2.4gig wifi and I just assume that most iot devices are inherently unsecure.

This company stands by their product

I received this product this morning. There were 4 outlet controls. I found multiple how to videos online on getting this product set up using Smart Life app (I had to download it) and the Amazon Alexa app (I had this already for my echo dot). Once I got the Smart Life app it was easy to push the button and get the app to find the device on my wireless, and test its functionality and change the name to reflect how others would think of it functionally. I needed my wireless security code for the Smart Life app, a smart life account, and when I configured the Amazon Alexa app with my Smart Life account credentials it recognized the new devices and I was off and running, as was my 4 year old Grand-Daughter with voice control of my lights. I was even able to tell 'Alexa' to rename two of the devices by voice control rather than using the Smart Life app. This was not without problems, as one of the 4 outlet controls was DOA, but I contacted the manufacturer upon discovering this, I was contacted by Alice within hours and after verifying I had tried to configure it properly they agreed to replace it and provide an additional for my inconvenience the same day. It is not always easy to get everything correct the first time, but being there to make it right in the end is critical, especially with new or unfamiliar hardware, and this company accomplishes that in my opinion.

I feel so tech savvy!!

I love these smart plugs! There was definitely a learning curve, but once I figured it all out with the first plug, the rest was a breeze..you have to download the Smart Life app and the set up your Alexa Smart Home (if your going to use that) at the same time for everything to connect and work right. Once I figured that out there was no problem, except when I told Alexa to turn on a light, she said she couldn't find that certain light, so after much searching I figured out you have to change the name "Smart Socket" to what ever room or appliance you are attaching the plug to in the Smart life app (such as" kitchen light") then Alexa will be able to understand. That was the hardest part to figure out, but after that I was obsessed turning the lights on and off in all the rooms! You can also set a time for the light to go on and off and what days of the week you want to do this, which I also appreciate. I used to use those old clunky timer boxes, but these are so much smaller and more convenient especially for the plugs that are hard to reach. I'm definitely buying more of these!!

Connects to Echo without any issues!

I'm new to the whole smart home devices but I was really intrigued. We bought these because I didn't want to have to keep reaching behind the furniture to plug or unplug the Christmas lights for the tree, and there was no switch associated with the plug or on the lights. I plugged it in and the directions on the Smart Home App description in the app store explained really well how to get it connected with my Echo Dot. I have since connected some additional Christmas lights I have around the front door, and a foot warmer I have under my desk to two of the other plugs. The foot warmer one was helpful so that the cat didn't accidentally turn it on while we were out and possibly start a fire. These plugs are great, so easy to use, and I have a feeling I will find tons of uses for them. I will definitely buy these again!

Great Product All Around!

I ordered these to replace my WeMo plugs. I ordered the 4 pack so that I could add my living room lights, and my 2 air conditioners to my smart home solutions. I use a Google Home to voice control my home, and I wanted to be able to control my entire living room, and my bedroom air conditioner. I use two of these plugs for my lights, and two for my home window mounted air conditioners (one in my living room and one in my bedroom). These were shipped very quickly (Prime), and I received them in excellent condition. I had already downloaded the SmartLife App on my iPhone, and already registered for an account (using my Email address as one previous reviewer had mentioned). I plugged in the first plug, and hit the + sign in the app, Confirmed the plug was installed, and entered my home wifi password. It clicked, and found the plug in seconds. Everything was set up and ready to go. I repeated the process for the other 3 plugs exactly the same as the first(it remembered the wifi password for the next 3, making it much easier). I was done installing all 4 plugs within 5 minutes. SUPER easy install. These respond much quicker than my WeMo plugs, I believe because the SmartLife app is directly compatible with Google Home, and I don't have to use the IFTTT application to circumvent the compatibility issue. When I ask Google to turn off my lights, or air conditioner, the lights are off before Google has time to respond audibly. These are much smaller than the WeMo plugs, althought I don't believe you could fit 2 of these in 1 wall outlet. Overall these plugs are fantastic! I will definitely be ordering again when I need to add more devices to my smart home.

Good products and a great company

My smart outlets arrived on time and as described. I did have a minor issue and contacted the company's customer service. Andrew got back to me with far more help than I ever expected. He attached videos, provided lots of information and did it all with a very friendly, helpful attitude. This was one of the very rare times that I actually enjoyed dealing with a seller's help team. My outlets are working great and are very easy to use. I'll definitely look for this company's products again.

Great value!

Update: As my original review indicates, I was unable to set up these plugs when I first received them. After initiating my return to Amazon, the customer support at Teckin reached out to me with some additional help. I learned that my issue was that my router was connecting to my phone at 5 Ghz, but it needed to be at 2.4 Ghz in order to do the original pairing for these smart plugs. I temporarily disabled the 5 Ghz connection on my router (a simple click) and was able to set these up with ease. In the end, setting these up required a little extra effort and hassle, but if you want to save a lot of money for nice smart plugs over the Amazon brands, its well worth it. In fact, I am going to order some more now. ---- November, 2018: I recently bought the Amazon smart plug and loved it for my Echo Dot. Unfortunately, these did not work for me. None of the four plugs were recognized by my bluetooth or connected to my Wi-Fi. They just blinked, indicating they were ready to pair, but eventually came back with an error message indicating the setup failed. In the end, this was a real waste of time.
