Powerful, easy to use, convenient. Very pleased!

Powerful lightweight little vacuum that is just what I was wanting. I use it everyday to spot vacuum specific areas that are high traffic from the outside, and area where litter boxes are. Used to have to use full size vacuum everyday. This little vacuum is easier and more convenient to use. Takes up very little room and has retained charge a long time, although I dock at night. I also use it to vacuum the car interior and trunk. We go to the beach a lot, so sand is always an issue. I am very pleased with this!

Amazing hand-held vac!

We purchased the Shark ION to replace a very old Black and Decker that just couldn't fully recharge and had no suction left. We read many reviews on the name brands as well as consulting Consumer Reports. This one had it, hands down! I was a bit concerned by the few negative reviews that talked about over-heating, short battery life, and a loud whine. This is what I found: After unpacking it and reading the directions, I plugged it in and let it fully charge before using it. After it was fully charged, I tried it out until the battery went completely dead, at least ten minutes. It never got any hotter than comfortably warm; although it has a higher pitch than the old dust buster, it was not overly loud or hurt my ears; the charge lasted long enough for me to go all around the edges of my mud room, which picks up lots and lots of grit from our shoes, down the hallway to the kitchen, around the edges of the kitchen, around the edges of the downstairs bathroom, and the entire set of stairs to the second floor. I thought it was never going to quit. The suction was amazing and never lessened near the end. It picked up all the tiny gravel in the mud room and everything else in it's wake. It was comfortable to hold and the design allows it to fit into crevices that the old dust buster couldn't get into, even without the crevice tool, which I haven't tried yet. It is very easy to empty out. It far exceeded my expectations. I have to believe that the people who have had poor experiences with it were unfortunate enough to get defective units. I couldn't be happier with this little Shark, it's awesome!

Powerful, well designed and compact

The Shark Ion W1 is in my opinion the best handheld vacuum on the market. Most handheld vacuums are either bulky, poorly designed or not powerful enough. I had an older model Shark handheld vacuum that I needed to replace after years of dependable use. I was disappointed with how little these types of vacuums had advanced. The model I had was better designed and more compact than the newer models that I found available. I decided to wait until I found one that fit my needs. I am happy to have found this amazing device after searching and waiting for a while. It is a little more expensive than most models, but in this case you get what you pay for. This vacuum is very well designed. The design of the charging stand is convenient and it has a place to store the attachments. This Shark vacuum is compact, lightweight and very powerful for a handheld vac. It works well on my wooden floors and on the carpeted areas of my home. It makes task of cleaning much easier. I am very pleased with this purchase.

It's perfect!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this shark. I have only had it for 2 days but it has cleaned up parakeet feathers and seeds, sucked up the cat hair from the lazy boys, pine needles that we track in, and gets the carpet clean at the baseboards. I have used shark items for 9 years now with no complaints. My vacuum killer house cleaner met her match with the shark! This little item I bought because I have hand issues and cannot detach the hose on my big guy without help. Lightweight, doesn't sound powerful, but don't let that fool you! And oh, so easy to dump! I give it 10 stars!

Very light and practical hand vac tool, that will make your life much easier!

Initially, I scoffed at the idea of spending $100 on a souped-up dustbuster, but as long as this unit lasts, it is worth it. I love the fact that this is super light and has excellent suction. I love the attachments. I love the super easy charging station, and that it only needs 2.5 hours to fully charge. I love the easy dump one button dirt canister. This hand vac literally has many many uses around the house. You can use it vacuum up your pet's hair balls on hard surfaces. You can use it on kitchen tables, chairs, or countertops. You can use it to remove dirt and dust from a computer keyboard. You can use it to clean baseboards and molding. You can use it to suck up spider webs from walls and crevices. You can use it to keep your car clean. You can use it on stairs. You can use it to keep sofas and upholstery clean, including behind couch cushions. You can use it to vacuum up all kinds of bugs or 'thousand leggers' that might be crawling across your floors or walls. You can use it on window sills. You can use it in corners or areas where a conventional full sized vacuum cleaner can't get to. You can use it to pick up hair if you get home haircuts. A much better “Dustbuster”

Needing a more powerful Dustbuster to pick up the food my baby drops on the floor I bought this based on a review from Wirecutter. Very thrilled with the performance, noise, battery life. Very sleek and fits in a drawer. Didn’t pay full price - wait for it to go on sale which it will.

I Love This Shark Vacuum...

This Shark Handheld Vacuum is AWESOME!! It's absolutely fantastic, so perfect for keeping my Jeep interior clean, as well as my tool shed. The run time is approximately 10 to 15 minutes, will recharge in 1-hour on it's base charger, I have no complaints with it. I like it so much... I'm planning on buying these as Christmas gifts for my Brother's & Sister's, and it has great suction power too... Shark deserves TEN STARS instead of FIVE.

Worth the money

I just got this yesterday so I'll update my review if anything changes but I freakin love this! It's so worth the cost. It's a really good, strong suction. I have an old cat and I've recently had to move his litter box into my bathroom. I loathe having litter all over the tile floor in the bathroom, and the way it feels under my feet. I've had my vacuum just stationed in my room, bc I vacuum the area around the litter multiple times a day. I knew if that was the new permanent placement I'd really need a GOOD dust buster. Gave this one a whirl and it's 100% what I was looking for. Great at picking up litter if that's what your looking for. I haven't tried it with anything else so i couldn't say, but it seems like it would be great on other things as well bc of the strength of the suction.

Another well thought out product with a modern flare

Lately, I’ve transitioned from Hoovers and Black and Decker vacuuming products in my house. Not only has the more recent Hoovers seem to have quality issues, they’re not as powerful as Shark’s vacuum cleaners. Black and Decker handheld vacuums have been the go to handheld vacuum cleaner brand but Shark’s clever design and more powerful suction is a clear winner among the two. I generally use these handheld vacuums for the car or loose bits and pieces around the house. They’re great for grabbing loose hair or if you’ve accidentally spilled some flour or protein powder on the counter. The Shark ION W1 is another great handheld vacuum cleaner. It’s an interesting design but it’s got a nice low slim profile. You can see in my pictures how much thinner it is compared to my old Shark. The suction is powerful. It’s as powerful if not more than my older Shark handheld vacuum cleaner. The charging mount also holds the attachments (Please see my attached photos). This is another area where Shark seems to spend time designing something new versus using the older tried and true design. The size and weight is perfect so that your arm doesn’t get tired with extended use. It’s also quite easy to clean and release the dirt cup with quick release buttons. As you know the issue with handheld vacuum cleaners is the size of the dirt cup.
