Love love love this vacuum. I have always had a Shark but this one is getting stuff out of my carpet that I never new was there. It is so easy to empty the the can and also to get anything stuck in or around the brushes. No more digging and spinning the roller. Just pop the top off nd reach in there. It makes my life so much easier. It also is true to its word about not having hair wrap around either. My daughter has long curly hair and with my old vacuum I woul be having to cut hair off with a knife and tweezers after every cleaning. There would be so much wrapped around that the poor bristles on the brush were not ever functional. I also love the fact that the canaster lifts off and I am able to get under things now without having to move furniture. I can keep going on and on. But I think you get the idea.

This is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I have two Malamutes that have long hair and shed enough to stuff a king size pillow almost daily when they shed their winter/summer coats. I have mostly hardwood floors that are black wood on which dirt tends to show, this vacuum really does a great job on the hardwood and the low area rugs I have. It handles the fur without issue and picks up sand size particles from hard floor without throwing it back at your feet. It is pretty quiet and came with some nice attachments including a powered pet hair tool for couches and the like, though only two can be stored on the vacuum itself at a time I dont find it to be an issue. The only con I can potentially see for some users is it’s weight, for me personally I don’t really notice but for some may be an issue. I think it has to be around 20-25 lbs. But if you have a long haired dog and wood floors this is an absolute must.

Purchased looking for a cleaner for my house, all hard floors with a few small area rugs. The cleaner was easy to assemble. The suction is great and it is easy to maneuver around the house. The ability to remove the canister is great and makes it really easy to get under tables and furniture like dressers, beds etc. It seems to be very well made and solid. My entire house is stained polished concrete, the powered roller cleaner works really well. I also love it that I can easily switch from hard floor right to low or high carpet settings for the area rugs I have here and there. The 30' cord is great; I have a large home and the cord is long enough I can get all rooms with minimal changing the plug location. Accessories are mounted well and stay put in their place. When you need to use them they are easily accessed and simple to use. I love the LED lighting and I love it that the exhaust air blows up, away from the floor so it doesn't disturb dust where you're trying to clean. Speaking of exhaust air, I love it that this vacuum is a sealed, true HEPA filter system, so the air coming out is clean, fresh and dust-free. When you're done the canister is easy to empty and the filters are easy to clean. It all fits together in a compact unit which is easy to store in a small area. If there is one thing I would change it is the suction hose - the hose is solid and easy to work with but it is a bit short when you operate the vacuum removed from the canister. I would like to see that hose be longer and able to stretch more, but that is literally the only thing I would change. All in all I am very happy with the purchase. This vacuum does what I bought it to do and it does it very well.

We have several vacuum cleaners and I have a favorite brand, a vacuum that never loses its suction. I was not expecting to like this Shark APEX Upright Vacuum with DuoClean for Carpet and HardFloor Cleaning as much as I do! I will say up front that it is not as elegant of a design as the other brand, but it more than makes up for that with the great features and outstanding ability to pick things up off the floor and actually clean your carpets. Let's face it, easy to use and elegant design are great, but if a vacuum isn't picking the stuff up off your floor, then none of that matters! THIS VACUUM CLEANS your floors very, very well. From the moment I opened it and saw the head with three rollers, and soft sponge-like materials, I was pretty sure it was different. It is fairly easy to assemble, although I had to look at the picture on the box several times to figure some of it out. One thing that is very nice, is that you can easily detach the canister from the rollers/head unit and use it to do a stairway or anything else that a canister vacuum would clean. Once the head unit is detached, it is fairly lightweight and makes a great staircase cleaner. Also, it has a VERY long, sturdy cord. The design is very clever and nicely done. It is clear that a lot of engineering has gone into the design of this SHARK vacuum. It has LED lights so you can see in the corners or up under the sofa or anywhere you are trying to clean. The roller and wheels are very smooth making it easy to push and pull. When pushing forwards, it almost feels like the vacuum is pulling forward and helping you along, but unfortunately that means it is fighting you a little when you are pulling back. It isn't bad, but my wife said it might be a little bit of a workout. It is very easy to empty the dirt bin in this vacuum and like most of the new vacuums out these days, there is no bag to keep up with. The controls are easy to use and intuitive. I like that they are up on the handle. Also, the attachments are very nice. Unfortunately, you can only carry two of the four attachments on the vacuum. I don't understand this. It sure seems like they could find a way to put holders so that you could have all your attachments stored on the vacuum. But I chose to put the fuzzy wand and the powered head. The small powered head is great for stairs. The "fuzzy wand" is great for corners and anywhere there is dust or dust bunnies. There are also some more standard attachments. I'm really impressed with everything about this vacuum. The rollers are made of soft cloth material and do a great job of picking up things. It works well on hard woods, carpet and more! This is an easy rating of five stars. This is hands down one of the best vacuums I've ever used. Possibly the best at picking up dirt and trash, and close to the best in features and design. SHARK has really made an impact with this vacuum. It is rock solid and I recommend it highly unless you are very petite or have a very weak frame. Other than that, it is almost perfect.

I love this vacuum! It is by far the best vacuum I have ever had. The suction is amazing and I have old hardwood floors . Hardwood floors with gaps. It sucked all the stuff out of the gaps, I've never had another vacuum do that!

cleans every bit as good as our old dyson-maybe a little better. if advertises llight weight but feels a little heavier. getting used to maneuvering-front wheels on both models are set to the outside of the frame; the dyson rear wheels are also set to the outside of the frame but the shark rear wheels are together in the center of the frame. seems a little clumbsier to use, but i'm getting used to it. of course 5 yrs of using dyson had me engrained to the old way. overall, a good vacuum.

We've had the 2nd gene Dyson for a little over 10yrs. Loved our Dyson, we've replaced a couple parts on it the whole time we've had it. So looking at the newer models, I want so quick to purchase another. I did not like how the disconnect suction hose on the back of Dyson is converted differently from my old one. So the search was on to look at other brands. I was heart breaking for me. I thought may now I can get a kirby, I know they work great too. But my husband did his own search & compared, and took some convincing before I agreed. And here we are loving this SHARK APEX. It's by far much quieter than my old Dyson. But very powerful and the disconnect suction hose on this SHARK APEX is how I prefer it to be. And I feel the design is sleek. I don't think I will ever go back to a Dyson again. Very satisfied with my purchase. Thank you.

I love the shark brand! I have had a total of 5 vacuums an have bought 1 as a gift. An this by far is my favorite an the best. It does great on all my floor types. Low profile carpet, thick carpet, shag carpet, tile an vynal hard floors. I have 3 dogs so I need something that sucks good, an can hold a lot in the canister. An I love that this one clears the brush roll free of hair. I like that I can “lift away” the canister to vacuum all the way under the couches an beds. I like that the attachment motorized pet tool attaches am locks in on the vacuum to be stored. I wish they made areas for all the attachments to click onto the vacuum an it is rather heavy to carry up an down the stairs. Seriously my only complaint for Shark is to figure out how to get all the basic tools to attach FIRMLY onto the vaccum! The reasoning behind my many Shark vacuums: One I bought for my dad. He has had it for years an still uses it. I got one as a gift, won one in a raffle drawing an the other 3 I bought simply because I wanted the newer version. Nothing has ever gone wrong with my sharks they are all still currently being used!

This machine is simply something else, incredible. We have always loved the idea of owning a high end Dyson Vacuum, and knowing that this is one of the major competitors of dyson, after using it for 3 weeks where we clean a 3500 sq house every Friday, I must say WOW. If Dyson is better than this, it must be a rocket-ship I did indeed receive this unit for free from Amazon for a review, and this review is completely unbiased since we don't owe Shark anything aside from our honest opinion. We used a nice Eureka vacuum for 7 years and it did us well, but once we started to use this Shark Apex one, we found out how badly our old vacuum was performing. We tested by cleaning the house with the old one and then going over some areas again. Incredible, the amount of dog hair that was picked up by the Shark left us speechless. We donated to other one right away. Here is a summary of our experience: The PROS: Very sturdy, yet light enough to be very agile and work in It cleans hardwood floors gently and better than a broom. It has two spinning brushes, the regular one that you see on most stand up vacuum and another unique one which has the consistency of a sponge with very fine bristles which allow it to clean hard floors very well The three settings (hardwood, low carpet and thick carpet) are intelligent in changing the speed of the brushes to increase the efficiency, very ingenious. The ability to quickly snap off the motor from the handle and reach really low and tight spots is very welcome and handy. See my pictures of cleaning below our couches (about 3-4 inches high) The “pet attachment” works very well and it has its own spinning brush and a spring loaded cover that ensures the pressure is constant. Very great VERY easy to clean/dump out debris. Also very easy to completely wash all of the filter parts Keeps human and pet hair out of the brushes. They claim that on the box, but I was not believing until we started to use it. we have a Golden Retriever, so lots of long fur laying around and surprisingly the brusheds did not get clogged up as the other one. In all honesty it is really hard to call out any CONS on this one. It has been amazing and I will be sure to update this review if something changes. Please let me know if this helps. If you have a specific question about it just post a comment below and I will do my best to answer it. Cheers, Cass

I very much liked this vacuum cleaner because it is powerful (picking up dirt and debris with no effort), quiet, and qith several thoughtful touches. For instance, there is a light on the powered head, like many vacuums, but when you detach the wand that light turns off and a small light on the powered wand turns on. The controls for hard floor/low carpet/deep pile are on the top of the handle for ease of use. The dust cup detaches easily and empties from both ends, which is convenient. It will take time for me to determine if the long hair detacher works as advertised, but it should take too much time with 4 long-haired women living in this house. There are so many thoughtful touches that the few inconveniences are puzzling. The power cord doesn't have an auto-retractor, but you have to wind it around the pegs, which often results in unexpected unwinding. Sure, an auto-retractor is one more thing to break, I guess, but it's convenient. Second, while the detachable wand is quite long, the hose itself is very short. I kept pulling the vacuum over while reaching with it. And I do wish I could keep all the attachments on the vacuum instead of just one because that just means I need to find someplace to store the others which will probably get lost. On a vacuum of this price point, you really shouldn't have all of these compromises. Despite those shortcomings, this is a very fine vacuum and it's highly recommended. I just hope that it's durable. I will report back on that.
