LOVE this clock, but I can see how it is not for everybody
This clock is such a great improvement over my 30-year-old clock I am replacing. However, I read many of the other comments and can share these observations: - The fact that the numbers are large and white makes them naturally brighter, so if you want a less-bright clock, maybe look for one with a red or blue display (some would say this is "blue" - but it is perhaps a white-ish blue). White will always be brighter. - I found that I could dim the display considerably to about the level of my old one with a red display, but that's just me - I'm also 30 years older (ha!) - I love the large numbers. I wear glasses, and this is really easy to read without them. - The alarm is super easy to set. - The automatic setting of the clock is PERFECT! No more changing the time twice a year! So, no more complaints about brightness people - it's gonna be a bit bright because the numbers are large and white - don't buy this if that will bother you.

I love this alarm clock !
Our alarm clock for over 20 years died. No problem, we'd just run out & get another one. BUT no one sells ordinary Alarm Clocks any more for under $25... They don't have many clocks & the ones they have can talk to your TV, clocks that can get music from your computer, clocks that save birthdays, all not only over $25 but some are higher than $200 ! I karumba! We bought one, took it home, couldn't get it set up bcz of all the "extras", took it back, went to another store, they to another store. Came home & went to Amazon - who has a fabulous selection of Alarm Clocks. We picked this one & it is perfect. So EZ to set up. Plus it has a plug in back so my husband can recharge his cell phone. The night light is great for moving around the bedroom in the dark without disturbing your partner. Less that $27 too ...

great as a simple, easily readable clock
Very easy to set up, took about 5 minutes total. It uses 3 "AAA" batteries as a backup in case a/c power is lost. When a/c is lost, the display goes dark but when power is restored, the time is still accurate. Large, easy to read blue numbers, visible from across a large room. The temperature indicator is accurate. I do not use the alarm function so i cannot speak to that. One minor complaint is the optional "auto" part of the brightness setting. It does not use the ambient lighting level, it just goes to it's lowest brightness at 9pm, and the lowest brightness is difficult to read. But because there are 6 different levels of brightness to select from, I was easily able to find a setting that works for day and night. overall this clock exactly what i was expecting.

The Perfect Bedside Clock
After researching several clocks I chose this one and happy I did. Got my wife one too. Offers several levels of screen brightness, auto time set, easy alarm set, temp in the room display and all info is very easy to view. Well done on this product!

I wish it had a light sensor
I bought this to replace a clock with a CD player that was just too bulky and I haven't used the CD player since the first year that I bought it. The really nice thing about that other clock was the light sensor. The clock would dim or brighten in response to the light. For this light, I feel like the dimmest setting could be a little dimmer during bedtime but even the current setting is hard to read during the day. I think the real answer to this issue is to make this clock with a red light instead of the blue. For me, it would make this a near perfect clock. Having the room temperature display is a nice thing. I try to keep the bedroom cooler as it helps me sleep better. Knowing what the temperature is helps me to know what temps help me sleep better and then I can control it. I have not used the alarm and probably rarely will. I use my watch as my alarm. It is good that the alarm time is displayed right on the face so you don't have to push any buttons to figure out what time it is set for. The USB port on the back (1 port is used to supply power to the clock and the other is available for accessory charging) is very handy for charging whatever device you need/want to by the bed. The auto time setting works very well. You have to change the timezone to match where you are. I think they only have 4 time zones in this clock. I'm guessing they have other versions that have other timezones in other parts of the world. It is weird that it seems to give you the ability to change the time and date after you picked the time zone. I guess this could be useful those people that like to intentionally set the clock ahead/behind. I've never understood that but to each his own.

Finally, a really good bedside clock!
I spent way too much time looking for replacement bedside clocks for my wife and me. The ones we had failed in a number of ways, and I didn’t want to repeat my mistake. This DreamSky clock is really perfect. The display is very clear and very comfortable on the eyes. I have it dimmed to about 40% brightness, and it is very readable in daylight without any glare on my eyes. I live in the Eastern time zone, so as soon as I put in the 3 AA batteries and plugged it in, it had the exact time, day, and date displayed. All I had to do was adjust the alarm (preset to 7 am) and the brightness of the display (just push the - or + buttons in normal time mode). I did add one of those 90-degree-angle plug adapters to my outlet, so that the power supply would sit vertically in the wall socket because it would stick out into the room too far if plugged straight into the socket (along with the added length of the USB plug— my outlet is behind bedroom furniture that sits close to the wall). The alarm is easy to set, but I couldn't find any way to adjust the alarm's loudness. The snooze "button" is a bar on top and runs nearly the entire length of the top of the clock, so you can’t miss it in a semi-conscious state. If you want to stop the alarm sound, you just hit any button on the back (but don’t hit the snooze bar). This will end the alarm for that day without turning off the alarm altogether, so it will sound again the next day at the preset time. That's nice because you have to engage your brain to do that operation, meaning your are actually more likely to get out of bed! You can use a switch on the back to turn the entire alarm function off, if you like. The temperature gauge is reasonably accurate (consistent with my analog gauge that I know to be accurate). By far the best thing about this clock is the overall display. I probably won’t use the auto-dim feature because 40% bright is plenty for me during the day. At 40%, everything is really easy to read. So far, the clock is very accurate in time and temperature.

Great Clock
I really like this clock. The screen image is easy to read and attractive. Nice sized 1.5 inch clock digits. The temperature readout is accurate and cool to know. I appreciate the many levels of dimming and brightness, I think there are 6 or 7 levels. I took photos at its brightest setting and dimmest. At its brightest setting the digits look almost white, very light blue though. At its dimmest setting the digits look slightly more blue, but at its dimmest the readout is almost hard to see, yes, it is THAT dim which might be a good setting for a dark bedroom but certainly not daylight conditions. My clock had the correct date and time right out of the box. But make no mistake, the clock is set at the factory and remembers the time while disconnected from power with the button cell battery that is installed in the interior. It is not getting the time/date by radio waves or anything. I always set mine according to the NST time anyhow. After setting mine it has kept very good time for the past few weeks. It automatically changed on March 10 for the daylight saving time change. I was waiting for the time change before writing this review. Not many clocks out there show date, day, and time plus inside temperature PLUS are capable of automatically adjusting for daylight savings and back. This clock has all of those features working correctly! I don't use the alarm feature so not rating on that. But overall the display is nice to look at and full of information without going overboard on information. Nice.

The alarm clock you’ve been looking for!
Great alarm clock with USB ports for charging my phone and powering my white noise machine. Love the extra large, extra bright numbers, the automatic setting, the indoor temperature display and the calendar feature. I’ve gone through a lot of alarm clocks looking for the right one. This is IT.

Very easy to see
This is a nice clock and can be easily seen from across the room. I like that it also shows the date and temp. I would recommend this clock and the bonus is that it will automatically change when the time changes again in the spring. Yeah! No more fussing with the clock, it will know.

Love this clock!!
Note: I DID NOT receive this for free or get a discount. I searched for clocks with blue LEDs and found this. This is exactly what I wanted and needed. Plug it in and it sets itself. The color is a soft blue led. The pictures I’ve posted don’t do this clock justice. It is very gentle on the eyes and has 5 dimmer settings plus an automatic light setting for the led. I love the ease of this clock. I haven’t used the alarm function yet, as I use my cell or wake up naturally. This clock is great! I’m going to buy another one for a desk downstairs.
