Works great! Perfect for the outlet behind my couch, so I can have different lights and devices plugged in with different names. For me, it’s a plus the usb is always on, I have an extra long phone cord plugged in that snakes out under my couch and that’s something I do want on when the lights are off. For me another plus is my other plugs are from the same company so it’s the same app. This was something which sat in my saved cart for a bit, glad I got it it!

Controls and measures energy use. One simple power strip to monitor and control six devices. Easy to set up. Easy to use phone app. I put all my media center electronics on this. Helped me quickly easily turn on which ever device combinations I want - e.g. watching video, listening to music, etc. You can create "scenes" to activate with one click. Foe example, to listen to music, I created a scene that turns on the receiver, subwoofer, and streaming device. To watch TV, it turns on the receiver, Apple TV, sub woofer and plasma display. And you can see how much energy each device uses. Plasma TV uses a lot of energy, so it's nice this device makes it so easy to turn on only when needed.

Since I got TP-Link/Kasa devices working on SmartThings I've started spending more money. Okay, spending more money is not great, but having devices that work consistently and at greater distances IS a great thing. Yeah, I googled and found out how to copy/paste 'groovy' scripts into SmartThings and that will be too much for some but if you have the tech bug you will find it's fairly easy to do.

I don't use the TP-Link (Kasa) app (except for setup) so I'm not super interested in the power usage info but for Google Home this is a must have for that room where you have several things plugged in to a power strip that are suited for automation. Each outlet can be turned on/off manually OR via the Kasa app / Google Home. Super easy to set up (Kasa App is pretty good) and adding to Googe Home was a snap. I know have (3) devices plugged into this smart power strip configured for Google Home and (2) devices just using power. I could not be happier with the quality and reliability of the TP-Link smart outlets / power strips that I've purchased (so far I have 7). Highly recommend this item.

Coming from an honestly terrible experience with Belkin's energy monitoring line, I wasn't sure what to expect from TP-Link's Kasa. Taking the strip out of the box, it has a nice weight to it, and PLENTY of space between each plug. In no way does this product feel cheap (like quite a few surge protectors feel). Make sure to flip the gray switch on the bottom, as that's the power (probably only confusing part at first). Linking the device with the Kasa app was very smooth, and I did it while playing a video game (it's quite literally that easy). You are immediately prompted to update the firmware after it finishes pairing, and the update process takes around 2-3 minutes. Each port can independently be powered on and off, either via the physical button above each port or through the Kasa app. Overall an EXCELLENT addition to my Sense energy monitoring system. Kasa is my go-to choice of energy monitoring plugs now.

I have been looking for a good high quality smart powerstrip for some time since the old Ubiquiti Mower units went out of production. One place I need it for is for a salt water fish tank so it has to be reliable. I have bought a few of the Chinese strips; because they were the only units available at the time aside from some questionable KickStarters. The units work most of the time but not consistently, the apps are basic (and require too many permissions on Android) and the power strips themselves are made of cheep plastic. They just have that "this is not a quality product feel" when you pick them up. I did not trust them for anything important so I just use them for my work desk and other less critical places. The TP-Link HS300 WiFi Smart Power Strip is completely opposite. The unit itself feels like a premium device, the apps is robust and while it is a bit more expensive than I would have liked it feels like a quality product. Scheduling is cloud managed but I believe you can turn on and off from Wi-Fi even if the internet is down. There is also an independent power button for each outlet, and the Amazon Alex skill works great so far. The only thing that would make it better would be if the schedule was stored in memory so that scheduled tasks could operate even if the internet is down.

Wow! After using one of the competitor's generic cookie cutter "smart strips", which only lasted 3 months...THIS Kasa product is a "Cadillac" by comparison! Yes, it costs 3 times as much but the quality, both look and feel, are off the charts. Setup was super easy and the TP-Link name brand means a well-designed product without having to download yet another app (since you probably are already using the fine Kasa app).

The ease of use of this device is it's best feature. I've been using the two outlet plug for a few weeks and liked it enough to purchase the power strip. I liked that enough to order 2 more, one for my house and one as a gift to my technologically-challenged mother. Alexa integration is seamless. I can say, "Alexa, turn on the fan" and it happens without having to say, "Alexa, ask Kasa to turn on the fan." The app makes it easy to name items and put them on schedules if desired. Unlike many smart home products, I don't need a hub or separate app (other than the TP Link Kasa app) to make it work it efficiently with Alexa (no IFTTT needed). I haven't had to do any resets and after playing with it quite a bit, have not needed to repeat myself once for things to turn off and on. The Alexa integration is seamless. Once I used the first power strip for tracking electricity use, I bought the second power strip to get a handle on what devices are "energy vampires" in our home in other rooms even though I have plenty of dumb power strips that would suffice otherwise. With this, you're able to see total, daily, and monthly energy usage and I schedule things to turn off during the night and when we're not usually home/in that room much. A simple voice command still turns it on if it is needed during the scheduled off times. Hopefully this will lower our electric bill over time.

This was a little spendy, but cheaper than 6 individual plugs. If you have 6 things near each other that you want smart plugs for, this is definitely worth it. I don't like fireTV or Roku always being on so they're both plugged into this. I also use it for 3 PCs with the bios set to turn on when power is restored so I can use voice control or an app to turn them on. The tp-link kasa app is by far the best smart home app I've used to date and I've used a lot. Normally, they are painful to use as though the developers are only allowed to test the interface while blackout drunk. Kasa is intuitive and useful and pairing devices is relatively painless.

Other than the rather steep price point (I actually bought mine when it was $20 less than the current price), I can't really say anything bad about this product. All 6 outlets can be independently controlled via voice, and it will work with a multitude of systems. If your equipment is all located rather close together, a smart surge strip is your best best, and more than likely the most cost efficient. However, if your devices are in separate rooms or locations, skip this and buy yourself a pack of smart plugs instead. For my purposes, and having 6 different devices in short proximity and in the same room, this 6 port surge strip works just perfectly.
